kingpower84 Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 Conrad doesn't fear competition, just means he'll get less work for his pay I was thinking the same
Aus Fox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I think you've hit the nail on the head with this one Nige
Happy Fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 All but done http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9312797/transfer-news-leicester-city-closing-in-on-charlton-goalkeeper-ben-hamer Sky Sports understands Leicester City are closing in on the signing of Charlton goalkeeper Ben Hamer. Hamer is out of contract at The Valley and has yet to agree terms on a new deal. The 26-year-old has impressed at Charlton since joining the club from Reading in the summer of 2011 and has established himself as one of the best young keepers outside the Premier League. Premier League new-boys Leicester are now hoping to capitalise on Hamer's status as a free agent by luring him to the King Power Stadium. Leicester are in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements, with doubts surrounding the future of Kasper Schmechiel, who has yet to agree a new deal and is out of contract this summer. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is thought to be an admirer of Hamer and is keen to bring him in even if Schmeichel ends up staying at the club as Pearson looks to add depth to his squad for next season back in the Premier League.
Dan Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 I'll take that. An upgrade on Logan regardless and has something to prove.
Happy Fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Goal Keeper situation/competition is sorted now if StanSP information holds true that Kasper has agreed to sign a 2 year contract extension.
xHamzah Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Pearson said I will never have heard of our signings..I have heard of this one. Pearson Out.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Will miss Logan, but only because when they announce the teams on the screen with player pictures - well last season anyway - he looked like an OAP
Vlad the Fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Pearson said I will never have heard of our signings..I have heard of this one. Pearson Out. Never play poker with Nigel. You'll be walking home in just your pants, if you're lucky.
KFS Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Hopefully we'll have two quality keepers signing contracts for us by next week. Kasper and Hamer, can't sniff at that
Narborough_fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 A good cup keeper as well as a back-up keeper. Happy with this.
DanTheFox07 Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 I have had first hand experience and seen him Play against Bournemouth, Like what I saw of him, very decent! oh and if the rumour's surrounding Albrighton are true, would take him as obviously out of favour at Villa!
Walshy5 Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Kasper must be off! Anyone who thinks hamer would come here to warm our bench is being very naive.
Harry - LCFC Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Kasper must be off! Anyone who thinks hamer would come here to warm our bench is being very naive. Anyone who thinks they know the intentions of two people they've never met before might also be called naive. EDIT: Three people actually. Who's to say Pearson won't swap them around regularly. Unlikely but still a possibility.
Narborough_fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Kasper must be off! Anyone who thinks hamer would come here to warm our bench is being very naive. Hamer sat on the bench for a good 2 month spell at Charlton last year. I don't think he'll mind sitting on the bench at Leicester on a much bigger wage whilst in the Premier League. May also see it as a challenge in his career to challenge, if he stays, Schmeichel for the number one spot.
LCFC FOX Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Goal Keeper situation/competition is sorted now if StanSP information holds true that Kasper has agreed to sign a 2 year contract extension. Where did stan say that?
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Maybe Kaspers here for another season and then we will sell for a good fee, leaving someone like Hamer to step up. It's possible that this incentive is on offer to attract a good understudy. But who really knows!
Clarkielcfc Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Pleased with this if it happens! Very good keeper for a back up, would be confident if kasper got injured/banned and he was starting for us! No issue! On a free, low wages, young for a keeper, and no doubt will be good competition for KS!
ousefox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Seems odd that a keeper as good as him would come and sit on our bench at his age.
Swarles Barkley Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Seems odd that a keeper as good as him would come and sit on our bench at his age. Sometimes I wonder that about Logan
phillo Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Looks like kasper could be off or back up for kasper good work either way nigel
