Lionator Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 This comes from an OFFICIAL source. @RichCawleySLP: Leicester interested in #cafc number one Ben Hamer. Full story in tomorrow's @SthLondonPress. Would take him everyday of the week and it'd great to have some healthy competition for Kasper, who, in my opinion still struggles with set-pieces and crosses, which would hamper us in the PL.
Fox92 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 We do need competition. As I said in another thread, Kasper is an automatic choice due to the lack of decent back up.
GeoLCFC Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Sky linked us with him as well, impressed me on what I have seen of him when he has played against us. Would not be a bad signing
Tuna Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Would be a good number 2, I thought when we beat Addicks at our place he'd be a good signing. From Chard in Somerset apparantly!
Buzzell Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Ahh the dude with the beard. We was linked with him not long ago. He seem's quite decent. He'd be a really good backup for Kasper.
Narborough_fox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 As a back-up I'd take him. Not as a starter though.
Stadt Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I don't rate him too highly, I doubt he'd want to play second fiddle either. We'll either get a young promising keeper who's 17/18 or an elder one like Schwarzer/Friedel as backup.
TJB-fox Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Not as bad as some are making out, very good keeper come on leaps and bounds this year. Still think we should stick with Conrad or bring in a 18/19 year old apprentice. Villa have Guzan as their number 1 and Steer as their young back up and I think we should replicate that. Bring in someone like George Long as backup imo
conLAD logan Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Conrad doesn't fear competition, just means he'll get less work for his pay
StanSP Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 He's been Charlton's stand out player this season I'd say. Best of a bad bunch. Good enough for the Premier League if need be?
lee7 Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Seen some of his displays this season including against us when he made a string of good saves! Definitely a premier league keeper. If we could get him for a reasonable price we should snap him up. Kasper needs strong competition if he does stay.
sylofox Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 The sun had this today and Milan back in for Kasper. I Sooooo Fvcking Hate Agents.

kingcarr21 Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 Albrighton and Hamer. Decent backups to the 1st team. If Albrighton can stay fit then could be a great signing
Burmesefox Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 Hamer is an excellent keeper; one of best in Championship.I'd deffo get him in, especially as I believe we will have Kasper for a max of 1 season.
Happy Fox Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 As a back up Yes definitely but if he was first choice I would be concerned.
Burmesefox Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 If it happens at all he won't be first choice....yet. i seriously think though that he is good enough for the prem with a year under his belt.
JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 The only place we really need a 'back up' is goalkeeper imo and Im pretty confident the Hamer deal has been done and dusted for a while. Could be a good cup keeper for us and if Kasper does leave over the next year then he would be an ideal replacement if he does well. Every other position we should be looking to improve or 'add to the quality' like Nigel states not be looked at for back up...
