"Some of those names probably aren't in the right sort of shape to get in our side to start with."

I think that is a brilliant quote: I am so excited about next season.

But Pearson said: "The vast majority of the names we're looking at you've probably never even heard of.

As if he wasn't great enough already, he's also a football hipster.  :pearson:

Did he do this interview wearing his Shakhtar Donetsk 2002 Away kit whilst standing in front of a watercolour painting of Westfalenstadion?

As expected. NP wouldn't tell the media until confirmed anyway. Some of the names coming up are ridiculous. Some of them a bit more realistic.

Transfer thread is taking a hammering. It is quite fun to sit back and see which names come up and discuss who would/wouldn't fit into a side and whether we like them or not. It will keep happening and people will keep posting - I just enjoy seeing who comes up.

Brilliant to hear. It's probably not 100% true, just trying to discourage agents, but I'm glad he's said it and so firmly.

Who'd honestly heard of Vietto before us being linked with him?

Signed him on Football Manager 2014 as Leicester about 7/8 years in.

Never used him though as I already had better options; just loaned him out and then sold him on for a profit at the end of the season. I'm that good a manager.

Seriously though, they have him down as an attacking midfielder/striker so similar sort of role to what Nugent's played this season. He would be coming from South America though which is probably a risk as he's likely to be quite lightweight, and possibly lacking in work-rate. Though I'm sure with NP about that might change.

To be honest I doubt that NP really is in for him. Think he'd be looking more at the European leagues. Though I'd love to be proved wrong Would be a very exciting signing. Some real bargains to be had in South American leagues. Think it was allegedly Martin O'Neill who got offered Falcao for £7m at Villa and then signed Heskey instead.

We could definitely do with replacing Nugent IMO. Or at least give him some good competition.

Was watching this sport science video on the club and they were speaking to Steve Walsh about transfer targets. He flicks through a booklet which a couple names come up on.

Mathew Leckie (AUS) of Hamburg

Paul-Georges Ntep (FRA) of Rennes - think QPR went for him in January

Those two cus get my eye - they were also the only two name I recognised, supporting NPs claim we won't have heard of many of his targets.

I think you can also make out "Burke", so that could be Brum's Chris Burke, I suppose.

Can't find that "Khetia"/"Khelia" guy.

But those names are in the scouting profile on Mahrez - so that means, they're used as counter-examples to prove how good Riyad is in comparison.

I doubt that we're in for any other of those names on that paper.

I've had my friends at the FBI check the video out. Interesting.

Fair point. The scouting profile is at the front so I thought they would have added to it since Mahrez's arrival hence presuming they were targets from this summer. I guess they were potential targets then for Janaury. We may still go for one of them as an additional winger. All candidates on that list are young and have great potential and we will probably need another winger.

That's Salim Khelifi.

Swiss u/21 international who plays in Germany - gets good on FM for anybody who plays it.

Is Steve Walsh an FM legend? I think he's been playing it since the game came out..

He's quite good on it, it says he's on £10,000 a week though.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson

Nigel Pearson has said media speculation linking Leicester City with a host of supposed transfer targets 'is laughable'.

The season still has four games to go but City have been linked with moves for a host of players as they prepare for life in the Premier League.

Pearson said none of the names he has been made aware of are on his radar.

"It makes me smile the way the speculation starts again and you are linked to players who are nowhere near our radar," he said. "It really is quite bemusing.

"We will do our business in the way we always try to do it, but I can't stop other people trying to link us with players that we are not interested in.

"It goes with the territory and the time of the year. People have to start getting busy again.

"None of the people that we are interested in have we gone public with. I am always really surprised by the names that are out there who are strongly linked. I can't do anything about it.

"I won't spend too much time talking about it because the names I have heard bandied about we certainly aren't interested in."

Pearson is out of contract at the end of the season but he said talks over a new deal could wait until the end of the campaign.

"It will be done at the end of the season," he said.

"I don't want to get side-tracked by those sorts of issues. It hasn't been a huge problem for me.

"We will have to wait and see what happens on it.

"I certainly don't want to start talking about that now.

"We have three weeks of the season left and we want to enjoy them.

"To do that we have to get our performances right. That is all I am interested in."

Pearson described midfielder Matty James as a major doubt for tomorrow's visit of QPR to the King Power Stadium.

James missed Monday's draw at Reading because of a knee injury and Pearson said he would be assessed today before a decision is made on whether he will be able to return to face QPR.

Scans on James' knee have shown the injury is not as serious as first feared.

He has a chance of playing again this season, but Pearson said he would not be risked if they feel he is not fit enough.

"He is a doubt for the weekend, there is no doubt about that, but we have three games left after that so, whether he makes the games after that, it will be a bonus after what we initially thought," he said.
