Soup Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Your username. I don't really read posts. It was all about the username. I like the username though ps between you and I, jonthehat is not really a hat. Ok fair enough, don't know if your joking though. There was no need for that comment that has now been deleted was there.
The People's Hero Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 I didn't know it had been deleted mate. It wasn't aimed at you. It was a game of TPH bingo afterall. Ole and cock badger has already gone and 'as an aside, I think apes are magnificent creatures' had slipped my mind (unforgivable I know) I hope you can see, it was my only option. Also, I have nothing to add to a thread about food in Leicestershire, but it does sound like the quality of food on offer is good so I guess ill leave you all to it.
ElusiveEd Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 As food fights go this is pretty much up there with the best. The best written one anyway. Is that possible?

I have no idea about such a game, never heard of it.It would of been easier to tell me that at the time.No problem then.Arrivederci.
MikeyT Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Cockbadger. Sounds like an interesting pub. Will have to try it.

Guest MattP Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Kilworth House is lovely, I went there for a wedding last year, fantastic venue. Going to go to the Opera show there hopefully if I get time over the summer.
Mike Oxlong Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Sounds like an interesting pub. Will have to try it. It serves road-kill. And cock.
Webbo Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 The gate hangs well in Syston! I haven't been in there for years, is the food any good?

Tommy G Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Chef Patron Thurlaston. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g504206-d2361374-Reviews-Chef_Patron_Restaurant-Thurlaston_Warwickshire_England.html Best sunday lunch I've ever tasted. http://www.thecurzonarms.com/downloads/May_menu_CA2014.pdf I live in thurlaston....hate to break it to you but it closed its doors last week!

katieakita Posted 2 May 2014 Posted 2 May 2014 So have we decided if there is a better Italian than San Giovanni's?
Dr The Singh Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 So have we decided if there is a better Italian than San Giovanni's?Bella Italia?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 No mention of the Neville Arms in Medbourne yet? One of the lovliest pubs in Leicestershire.
Soar Fox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 No mention of the Neville Arms in Medbourne yet? One of the lovliest pubs in Leicestershire. One of the nicest villages I've been too. Never ate there though.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I live in thurlaston....hate to break it to you but it closed its doors last week! That's a shame. Do you know why? Really excellent food! I used to play football for Thurlaston Magpies.
fox123 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I live in thurlaston....hate to break it to you but it closed its doors last week! Was gutted about that. I live in Stoney Stanton and used to visit there most Sundays, we had my daughters first birthday there and the chef (Kevin) made my daughters birthday cake. Stanton Lakes is a nice setting, but the Sunday lunch has gone down hill since it started. For an alternative location and not to far away from Leicestershire, I can definitely recommend The George in Stamford.
Ric Flair Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 The Windmill in Newbold Verdon is very good also. Agreed! Also my mate is the head chef there.
dayday Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Pig in Muck. Can't even remember where it is - was very nice. The White Horse Inn in Leire was class. I think it was that place anyway. Pig in Muck is in Claybrooke ,not sure if it's Parva or Magna though. I sometimes go to the Sarah Mansfield at Willey a mixed grill sizzler costs £7.95,you get a steak, pork chop, gammon steak,2sausages,chips,peas and onion rings, very reasonable prices and very popular
Merging Cultures Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 The Joiners Arms at Bruntingthorpe. Not the cheapest, but nice little village, decent venue & the food is fantastic. I used to know the owners and waited there about 14 years ago! Glad it is still going well!
pSinatra Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 I used to know the owners and waited there about 14 years ago! Glad it is still going well! I think they own/run the Boot Room on Millstone Lane in town as well.......but much prefer The Joiners
