BlueSi13 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I ambled on long after the players and their families legged it down the tunnel. Both 'invasions' were a little distasteful really, especially the first. However when you have many a fan who find it hard to dress themselves let alone stand patiently for five minutes it isn't really surprising what happened. BTW what actually happened to the steward? I saw him go down but I didn't see what/who caused it?
lavrentis Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Yeah I loved it. I noticed in the first invasion that a steward was on the floor for a while, kop end . Anyone see what happened ?
fleckneymike Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Is it really so difficult not to just give me the information? Does it give you pleasure being so indirect? I take his point, I would've preferred them to wait but there are some massive exaggerations about 'ruining people's' day being mentioned. It was a bit of a shame I agree but it isn't the biggest loss in the world. I've hardly been indirect, you replied to the post WITH HIS POINT IN IT for crying out loud.

Well when you've been a season ticket holder since the mid 90's and had to put up with some of the shite we've had at the club, it would be nice to actually see the trophy we've waited so long to win. Instead I had the pleasure of watching a sea of people aimlessly stand around on the pitch because they decided to run on as soon as the players had run past them.
DennisNedry Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 So are we all in agreement? First/Second Invaders: Cvnts Third Invasion: Fine
Livid Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 As said earlier, there can be a selfishness about some fans. It's all about 'they got a selfy with Drinkwater or selfy with whoever' - it really is irrelevant to them that some fans didn't get to see the players parade the trophy, or some of the players were scared for their family or others players and the management were annoyed by it all or a steward was serious injured by the first invasion. That's irrelevant - they had their enjoyment and that's all that matters. Once the players had left the playing area, if they wanted their moment of glory, they could have gone on then. Unfortunately times have changed and so has our fan base. It appears that unless you fall in line with them you just get shouted down. Love the club but our supporters make me cringe at times.

That wasn't ruined. If you didn't see that then you should be blaming the club for not doing it in the centre circle without things obstructing the view. So what did you actually want to see? One of the players walking past you with it? Is that really what you've waited all this time for? Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill, you missed nothing.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 The first invasion was ridiculous because the club were trying to set up the podium and equipment for the presentation. Quite why people felt the need to go on then was beyond me. The second invasion was just stupid. The players were doing the lap of honour with their families, including babies and toddlers, and suddenly they had thousands of fans storming at them. It was so ridiculously unnecessary that people couldn't just restrain themselves. I found both invasions quite embarrassing to watch in all honesty. Did the invasin hamper their preparatins in any way? Naturally the players with kids aren't going to be happy with an invasion but it was nice to persnally congratulate the players who stayed on
Raj Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 So are we all in agreement? First/Second Invaders: Cvnts Third Invasion: Fine There are still a few who think otherwise....
gcah2013 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I saw that, no idea what the guy did to get pinned down but I saw the grey haired steward beating the shit out of the guy on the floor, causing people to then start dragging him off. Incredibley unprofessional, hope plenty of people got his ID number. So he committed a crime - much like thousands of Leicester fans did by running onto the pitch. I went on late in the second invasion, after the stewards put their arms down and let us on. Don't know if that was what you classed as the second or third invasion. However, I do think this would have been avoided with a pitch invasion during Brighton/QPR. The fact is, many Leicester fans felt robbed of their celebration on that occasion and I can understand their eagerness to join the players. I didn't want to run on during the lap of honour with children on there, but there is nothing to say the players wouldn't have ****ed off down the tunnel once the lap was completed. More to you if you went on for selfies - I don't understand the concept of wanting to go on a pitch when none of the players or staff are left.
sdb Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 As uncool and unpopular as this will no doubt be, I thought the fans who invaded both the 1st and 2nd time were/are absolutes morons. Talk about poor timing on both occassions. Also, no one seems to have mentioned the poor steward in front of the Kop who required 4 St Johns Ambulance staff for a good 10-15 mins after the first. Watching Kasper leg off the pitch with his kids the second time before crossing half way was sad to see. Yes it's nice to get on the pitch but the timing was so selfish. There are fans who care more about the club than themselves and then there are selfish nobheads who clearly have no thought for anyone else. Christ knows what the players with young kids think of the fans. Anyway...great day otherwise and at least we have a squad, staff and majority of fans to be proud of. Cue mass of abuse!
elangLCFC Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I just want to confirm I was on during the bit when it was ok and not the bit when if you were on you were a cvnt. Seconded, I was on once all the players had left and the club were all but allowing it
Kitchandro Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I'm still at the ground, no Kasabian as of yet What are they actually doing there?

Couldn't have put it any better myself. Kasper looked absolutely petrified carrying the trophy in one hand and his son in another. I just don't see why the fans who wanted on the pitch, which there most people don't seem to have issue with, couldn't have waited another 5 minutes (at the most) and let the players finish their lap of honour and get all the families off the pitch.

Yes I would like to see the players walk past with the trophy and show appreciation for the fantastic season we've had like half the ground got the opportunity to do before the invasion happened. You've admitted you f**ked off before it all happened anyway so just because you in your closeted, self-important little world don't enjoy that doesn't mean others don't.
Jace Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Sounds like a proper cringe fest to be honest I really don't know how some of our players can tolerate a number of our fans

bluesbrothers Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 After the initial twattishness had passed, I did myself. Met Drinkwater and between myself and the 25 or so folks around us, we managed to get him to smile. It was as if we'd just parted the Red Sea. That's the second time in two games after 'Udders. High risk army and all that.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 To be fair, you can't tarnish everyone who invaded the pitch with the same brush. Yes, those who hassled the stewards at full time and during the presentation were arses - and so were those who went on whilst the players with young kids were still on the pitch. But those who went on after that were just savouring the moment. 1,000s went on. Not everyone of them deserves the strong criticism that is/will be chucked about on here.

Naturally the players with kids aren't going to be happy with an invasion but it was nice to persnally congratulate the players who stayed on No disrespect but you mentioned in an earlier post that the first 'invasion' failed because not enough people ran on and now it seems you're trying to make out it was just some sort of temporary mini invasion while the club got ready for the celebrations? I'm sorry but it looked all the world to me like you guys hoped the entire stadium would run on with you instead of booing you off.
