Leonardo Ulloa (Brighton) - Bid accepted

For a proven Premiership striker, or a proven striker at the top level, we would have to pay masses in fees and also wages. We might be bidding £6-7Million, but, Ulloa would probably come and fit into our wage structure as well. He is the mobile target man that NP seemingly wants to sign.

IF we was to go down in next year, then, it wouldn't be a bad strike force to have back in the Championship - Vardy/Nuge/Ulloa/Wood. I think he is a safe solid signing for us. Not going to set the league alight as an individual, but NP is all about the team. He would fit into the team ethic that NP has/is installing, and I think we will stay up next year.

I don't think you can just sign a cheap 'foreigner' and it will all be hunky dory. Ulloa has at least, settled into England life, which would also be beneficial to us.

I'm sure we will bid again, and hopefully will get him in soon.

Good post. I wonder if Heskey may be added aswell, after all we took Phillips last season.

The key will be that the player wants a chance at Premiership football. Not unsettled but a rational decision on his part. I expect he will go and £6 million would seem fair enough but there is a problem with not many target man goalscorers around.

Brighton have just sold Bridcutt and Barnes and not renewed the contracts of their high earners so I do not think they are desperate. Ulloa is on as two or three year contract still to fulfill.

Not the right time. I expect in two weeks time a transfer would be more likely. Reports down south that it is not reckoned to be the final bid from Leicester. No rumours of interest from other clubs.

Well that's just made up isn't it.

Why is it.

Just look at the other players, which have been linked with other clubs.

Pelle & Movsisyan have been linked with us, in terms of goals, height & strength they are both similar to Ulloa.

Well 1 million for a non league player was a first whilst 6 million for a championship player isn't so your logic is kind of wrong!

No I am not wrong it's all about opinions and mine is that he isn't worth that sort of money. Not hard to understand I hope? However I do trust the management to get it right more often than not so as always I will cheer him to the rafters if he does sign for us. Just don't think he is worth anything like the rumoured amount personally. It is a personal opinion that's all

I was thinking along he same lines whilst looking for a replacement or alternative for Ulloa: http://www.futhead.com/14/players/12368/graziano-pelle/compare/14-3249/14-2938/ Albion could take the money and end up spending more for a worse replacement like Pelle. Exactly the comparison I was looking at. Ulloa much preferred.

There are one or two other forwards who are target man goalscorers in Europe who have been offered for sale at a similar sort of price. None of them are particularly versatile, just the old fashioned centre forward.

Alfreð Finnbogason (who went to Spain) did not look much better either.

Danny Graham will probably get transferred in the close season, but I expect his wage demands are higher.

Have you seen these guys play regularly??

Time to target someone else now. I don't blame Brighton for getting as much as they can for him, but as far as Leicester are concerned it is surely, "silly money". If we start to look elsewhere, Brighton would be kicking themselves.

That would be good, proven in the prem.

Until the player or Brighton shut the door on a deal, we should keep trying to negotiate. You shouldn't shit your pants and move on when it gets tricky. If you do, you end up with players you didn't really want and it won't work out (Beckford for example).

Some of the comments on here are embarrassing. Proper pussy boys.

Middlesbrough's number one target, he definitely wants out of Genk. I think he's struggled for form this past year though.

Just seen in the Pelle thread that you're aware of this :D

No we wouldn't as that is why we've put such a huge price on him. Either pay up or look elsewhere instead of insulting us with these embarrassing small increases every other day.

Embarrassing?

just because we have cash does not suddenly mean that we should pay over the top for ulloa. We already have nugent and vardy, who must be worth £15 million a piece by your clubs valuations.

Yes you have cash so look elsewhere if you aren't happy with our price.

Be surprised if he's not a Leicester player soon the players head will be turned and when that happens you've got to let them go.

Doesn't work like that. Ulloa has now said that he wants to play in the prem but it's down to the club whether or not the buying club meets their valuation. He has now stated in saying he'll not put in a transfer request.

Ive been reading this thread and thought I would give my opinion. Ulloa looks the player we need, he scored plenty of goals in a Brighton side that didn't exactly fulfil.

All those that say he isn't should ask them selves how many goals would he have scored had he played for us last season? I would say more than 25. How many times did we create 20 chances and win 1-0. He's a goalscorer and has adapted to life in England, he can also score with his head. How many headed goals did we score last season from corners? not many. We are crying out for a player like this with the chances we could give him.

The other thing to think of is Upson, surly a player with his many years in the game would advise Pearson if he thought Ulloa was not up to the job? Finally Upson is bound to be in contact with him as they were team m8's.

Get him signed asap...its a no brainer for me.

player tell fans what they want to hear - shocker. he's not daft, he's not going to ruin what he's got, but that also doesn't mean he hasn't told his agent to manufacture a move, because his head has been turned.

unless you are his agent then you don't know how it works either pal.

He wants to leave, but won't put in a transfer request, that is down to loyalty bonuses or something isn't it? I think I heard somewhere that players lose bonuses if they request a transfer.

If he really wants to leave, presumably for more money, he should put in a request.
