dayday Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 He will stay at Brighton sulking, his performances will drop off....then in January we will put a cheeky 2 million pound bid in ... Then he will be ours.
jamiegoode Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 To the Brighton fan, i dont understand how you could say Leicester City FC had insulting your team with an offer, Obviously staff from one club are going to value / rate a player differently to the players club staff. Surely the small increases in our biding, mean both parties are willing to negotiate the price, i think of it more of a antiques auction house. I personally dont rate the guy, but then i havent rated some of the signings we have made. If Brighton FC can get the money they want, then good for them.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 This is like Maynard all over again. Watch us sign Cameron Jerome for £3m at 11pm on the evening the window shuts and pay him £40k a week!! Ulloa then goes to Wigan for £2m in Jan then ****s his knee up in his second game.

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Doesn't work like that. Ulloa has now said that he wants to play in the prem but it's down to the club whether or not the buying club meets their valuation. He has now stated in saying he'll not put in a transfer request. Good luck with a very unhappy striker next season then, sure that will help your cause no end.
5waller5 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 And what are you basing that on? My knowledge of the player and a bit of basic research.
Oldinnblue Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I think up to 8m is realistic for Ulloa, consider how much Drinkwater, James and some of our otherlayers with no prem experience are worth. Big Nigel obviously wants him and then at least we can have a bit of ariel power from set pieces. I watched him a few times last year and he is class, we must trust our manager, he doesn't get much wrong.
Stonegold Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 To the outsider Brighton turning down 7.3 million for any player may seem rather odd but Premireship teams desire and willingness to pay overinflated prices for run of the mill strikers have been well documented and will continue to do so , Brighton are in complete control of this situation they do not have to sell Ulloa to anybody and have had their fingers burnt before selling players at very low prices to premireship teams and they will not be caught out again that way . Ulloa is a very good player and without doubt premireship ready , The Arsenal defence found him a nightmare to play against and his goal against Hull in the cup 1-1 draw will tell you everything you need to know about his pedigree and goal scoring capabilites other than his trademark headers and tap ins . To be honest im not sure if money is the stumbling block rather , Hyppia has not yet seen Ulloa and CMS in action together for any length of time as CMS missed pretty much the whole of last season with a bad injury , perhaps if Brighton had secured the services of Lewis Grabban last season you would of already have Ulloa for around the 5 million mark but as it stands i honestly cant see Brighton parting with Len just yet .
Callabinho Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Sorry but Ulloa isn't worth £7 million let alone 10! I'd take him in the side, but this is truly pathetic, £10 million? Behave........
foxfanazer Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 My knowledge of the player and a bit of basic research. What knowledge? 2 games aagainst us?

Mccormack cost 11 million, yet scored 29 goals iac. Ulloa scored 16 iac. No way is he worth over 5 million.
Vossen Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 This on Brighton boards ...As a lifelong Brighton supporter I think that if we can get £7 million for him we should sell him. He is very slow with the ball at his feet and this will be shown up even more in the Premier league!
Vossen Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Campbell would have been cheaper...even with the wages !!!!
Bert Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I don't think "Brighton" understands how transfer bids work. You always go in low at first and then slowly increase bids until it's accepted or a head is turned.
justfoxes Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I don't think "Brighton" understands how transfer bids work. You always go in low at first and then slowly increase bids until it's accepted or a head is turned. I've a feeling that with all the negative comments regarding Ulloa on the Brighton forums regarding snap their hands off £7m for a slow player can't control the ball etc etcetera etc and the few times I've seen him and not been too impressed are we chasing a player well over valued and not really a prolific scorer always in the back of my mind and prob some of you will he become another Akinbyi bad buy ??! Certainly hope not Brighton are becoming far too greedy regarding Ulloa and we should drop our interest would rather try again for wickham or even Campbell as people have said would be cheaper on wages and few than ulloah high price tag and just as good or better than Ulloa ! But we have to trust Nigel's judgements and let the circus of transfer rumours carry on !!
Stadt Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Deal possibly on - "Yeah, he's exactly what we need, good in the air so hopefully get in the end if some corners. Imagine him up top with Vardy buzzing around!" Deal most likely off - "Nah, too expensive, he's shit, gonna be another Akinbiyi, get Campbell instead."

Do you honestly think this bloke is worth £7-10million you can see why some fans are worried over the price !!
Stadt Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Do you honestly think this bloke is worth £7-10million you can see why some fans are worried over the price !!He's worth whatever Nigel/whoever wants to pay. £10 million is ridiculous and we aren't going to be spending that on him so calm down.
jock2612 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 It all depends on who NP wants. If we have other targets to go for ,fine BUT if not the squad does need some extra quality and time gets short. It would be better if new additions could be in by training camp.By keep going back it strikes me that perhaps other targets have been negative. I am convinced the squad at present is not good enough to stay in the prem.Good morale will only take you so far after 10 years away i hope we dont blow it!!
st albans fox Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Ulloa is no akinbiyi as far as lack of talent is concerned. he could turn out to be a waste of money but fortunately, thats not a problem at the moment as we have a fair size pot and NP doesnt look like spending too much of it on fees. You need to have a gamble sometimes.
smudger63 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Doesn't work like that. Ulloa has now said that he wants to play in the prem but it's down to the club whether or not the buying club meets their valuation. He has now stated in saying he'll not put in a transfer request. If he is still with you at the beginning of the season, it will certainly be interesting to see how he starts the season. Will he sulk and be uninterested, hoping that you let a blatantly unhappy player go before the transfer window shuts, or will he just knuckle down and get on with it. To be fair, if it`s the first of those scenarios he isn`t the kind of player we want at our club anyway.
DanTheFox07 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 if it's true that ulloa doesn't want to put in a transfer request then we should put our effort's elsewhere!
MPH Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Even if we do get an offer accepted, there is absolutely no guarantee that we'll be able to agree personal terms... If we can't agree terms with a player worth 800k then it might not be straight forward with ulloah
MC Prussian Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Why is it. Just look at the other players, which have been linked with other clubs. Pelle & Movsisyan have been linked with us, in terms of goals, height & strength they are both similar to Ulloa. But not in terms of speed - Pelle and Ulloa are sloths compared to Movsisyan.
Deucalion Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I reckon we will keep bidding until we get him, which means we might have to pay nearly £10 million. I don't care how much he costs, I just care what he does on the pitch if he does sign.
