queensguardfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 on the brighton forum literally 99% of um think the club should of accepted if ulloa isnt happy http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?304738-SSN-saying-%A36m-bid-for-Ulloa-today-Havent-we-already-turned-down-%A37m/page5
st albans fox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I think the only way this will happen is if Ulloa put's in a transfer request. Otherwise we need to move on can't waste our time and waste our money on him imo. even if he does put in a request, we still have to meet their valuation. they dont have to sell him. the fact that we put in a fourth bid shows a degree of desperation (NP admitted he had missed out on a couple of targets) and i suspect brighton are merely playing a game where they will get an over inflated fee or not sell. they know we have the money so nigel has to decide - either he wants him or he doesnt and its now at the stage that if he wants him, he ends up looking a bad negotiator as he pays a high fee. knowing that our leader doesnt like to look a 'a twat' (his words not mine), i suspect we will now throw in the towel on this and i fear we could sign a striker that we're not completely keen on as a kneejerk reaction. my view is that you go with your instinct and your research. swallow your pride, pay the fee, and move on. we're swimming with the big boys now and cannot expect to get bargain buys as we have done recently in the championship.
AKCJ Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 For **** sake. I've been singing that "Whose that man from Argentina" chant around the house all evening as well.
AKCJ Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 @soccer_sauce: Our understanding is that Brighton have accepted Leicester's latest bid for the player and Ulloa is forcing through a move #BHAFC #Lcfc lol
benpicko Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 double L makes a y sound in Français as well. Not all the time
FoxyPalace.com Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Either these Monkeys are greedy or they have agreed a high percentage sell on fee with Almeria
kingfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 As I said earlier, not worth the time & hassle. If Tanner is right, it's time to move on now, get in a player I mentioned earlier, a player Mark aka Waghorn Bummer said wouldn't come to Leicester.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 This is gonna be another Maynard situation. He'll have an average season in the championship then eventually move on for a third of our offer leaving Brighton wishing they'd taken our money!
FoxyPalace.com Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I would send them another fax withdrawing all offers and telling them to get ****ed asap!
Raw Dykes Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Drop it. Timewasters. As Rob-the-Blue said, he'll have an average season and someone else will pick him up for £1-2m next summer. Everyone's unhappy. The ideal compromise. Let's move on to the next target.
johnny the fox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I can never see the logic in hanging onto a player who wants out.. whats the fookin point? I reckon another 30 bob will swing it.
tylesta Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I would send them another fax withdrawing all offers and telling them to get ****ed asap! or send pearson down for the headbutt
Collymore Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 or send pearson down for the headbutt I'd do my football manager favorite strategy. Edit the database and make Brighton bankrupt
Raw Dykes Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I can never see the logic in hanging onto a player who wants out.. whats the fookin point? I reckon another 30 bob will swing it. Exactly. Ulloa hasn't got what he wanted, which means he's not as motivated and Brighton don't have the player they had before. We haven't got the player we wanted, and Brighton don't have the extortionate fee they could have had. Who's the winner in all this?
Bryn Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 This will happen now I feel, we clearly want him, he wants to go and Brighton will want good money to replace a good but unhappy player.
Mark_w Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Exactly. Ulloa hasn't got what he wanted, which means he's not as motivated and Brighton don't have the player they had before. We haven't got the player we wanted, and Brighton don't have the extortionate fee they could have had. Who's the winner in all this? If he actually does want out. Has that come from a credible source?
Raw Dykes Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 If he actually does want out. Has that come from a credible source? I don't know. I'm just guessing he'd rather play in the Prem than the second tier.
Wilson_6 Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Honestly the people on here saying hes shit after seeing him a couple of times is ridiculous. For me he is exactly what we ned and would fit in perfectly. As far as the fee goes he probably not worth that much but people know we have a bit of money so why wouldn't they ask for more?
Dan Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Can I ask what exactly these assumptions he wants to come here are based on?
lcfcsnow Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. No other top flight club is interested are they?
lgfualol Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Good player but Brighton can get ****ed. They're making people assume we're desperate with the constant rejected bids. We can get someone better.
