HitchinFox Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Heard today that Stoke are after the Swiss winger Shaqiri from Bayern... Big coup if that comes off! They might be after him. But judging by Shaqiri's reaction when he was told about Stoke's interest, not sure they have a chance
The Railway Man Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 I think Sinclair probably won't reach anywhere near the levels he down at Swansea, a serious lack of play time destroys careers. This is correct, it would probably take Sinclair a year to get half towards what he was again.
Benguin Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 wow you can get scott sinclair for cheaper than george boyd If Nige ever leaves the club can this image remain with the forum please!
Father Ted Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 This ****s me off. Hackett and his era benefitted hugely from a time when the technology wasn't available, the cameras weren't in every part of the pitch and it wasn't slowed down to prove an impossible decision to call was staggeringly bad. He probably made countless mistakes but due to finances and time got away with them as there wasn't 24 hour sports channels and pundits ripping them apart. Was his time as boss a wonderful era for refereeing? Was the decision making spot on back then? Throwing a few refs out won't help at all, they make mistakes, they are humans. Players and managers make them too. ****ing hell, he worked with Jeff Winter and Graham Poll who became "personality referees". These guys are honest people trying to make the game a decent one. You'll get a few duffers but that happens in all walks of life. Will Hackett come out and praise the referees every week for great decisions? Just kicking people when they are down, jumping on a bandwagon that's rolling along I scrolled down his blog to see that the next article down was him vehemently backing Mark Clattenburg after recent criticism he has received. Seems as if Hackett has a clear agenda against some referees that he may have fell out with. How he can back Clattenburg, an absolute disgrace of a referee and then drill into five others is rather hypocritical. No mention of Jon Moss either.
justfoxes Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Pretty good read where this former head of referees wants 5 premier league referees taken off the EPL refereeing list for next season. We've all been frustrated with these so called referees where as for example Mike Jones and his comical Wes Morgan's famous face ball penalty and Simpsons unfortunate ball to hand incident where he's clearly shown to try and move away fr the ball !! Maybe the fa need to audit these referees on a tmore regular basis fine them ban them retrain them, but something needs doing that incompetent idiot cost us leaving Andield with all 3 much needed points performances like that idiot could cost teams their places in the premier league lets hope the governing body look at these incompetent fools and sort things out !! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/418914/Referee-appalling-Premier-League-officials-AXED
Dan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Shaqiri's one of the greediest players I've ever seen. He's good but so greedy.
Corky Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-30719592 Great news, hopefully all other clubs will follow suit. Anyone remember when people went to just watch the match without recording half of it on a phone or taking pictures of themselves? They were good days.
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Victor Valdes to Manchester United has slipped everyone's radar. Not sure how De Gea will react to that news. Probably with a dear Spanish embrace aka a headbuttoy.

How does someone taking pictures at a game of footy ruin your day so much? Jesus wept
BigMicky Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Victor Valdes to Manchester United has slipped everyone's radar. Not sure how De Gea will react to that news. Probably with a dear Spanish embrace aka a headbuttoy. Valdez was touted around ages ago. One of the most overated goalies of the modern era. When he was really tested (hardly ever) he was found wanting.
Fox92 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Only time I ever take pictures is at away games, before the game, of the ground etc - especially if it's my first visit. Don't take them during the game, seems strange while the game is on.

kingcarr21 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 someones actually invented a selfie stick? and most likely made millions in the process. Ridiculous item but fair play to them
Dan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Selfie sticks are absolutely hideous. What an utterly dreadful invention.

Anyone remember when people went to just watch the match without recording half of it on a phone or taking pictures of themselves? They were good days. The were a picture from a game the other day (can't remember which one) where one team was taking a penalty and virtually everyone behind the goal had their phone out recording it and weren't actually watching it.
purpleronnie Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Just a personal thing, I'd like to see the game without a mobile on a pole being shoved in the air. Add concerts to that too.

Doesn't surprise me. It's things like this which contribute to crap atmosphere at games. People more bothered about scoring social media points rather than actually enjoying themselves.
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Doesn't surprise me. It's things like this which contribute to crap atmosphere at games. People more bothered about scoring social media points rather than actually enjoying themselves. I think you're probably right. We've almost reached a stage where many people are placing more importance on telling and showing other people that they are enjoying themselves, than actually enjoying themselves (if that makes sense). Edit...the stage HAS already been reached...

It's very odd and sad that people will reach for their phones to record or take pictures rather than enjoy the game or celebrating goals etc just to get '1up' in social media.
johnny the fox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Raheem Sterling on holiday. so he has joined balotelli then..
Richmondfox Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Owen's commentary kills the game more than a konchesky back pass. He sounds like he's speaking in bullet points, unable to string a sentence together, Gerard spoke like that in his interviews over the last week too.
