Donut Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Ings is barely tested at Premiership level, so will be interesting to see how he handles La Liga, not to mention settling in to Basque life.
Leicesterpool Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Wonder if Rickie Lambert will be going anywhere?
Dan Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Ings is barely tested at Premiership level, so will be interesting to see how he handles La Liga, not to mention settling in to Basque life. Forgive my ignorance but how different exactly is Basque life to Spanish life?
jammie82uk Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 The Ings saga has been very odd, we supposedly had a bid rejected, then he's linked to Liverpool, then Man City and now it appears he's off to Spain. looks like another twist Burnley striker Danny Ings has not signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Sociedad and is thought to favour a summer move to Liverpool, according to Sky sources.
jammie82uk Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 seems like west brom are getting the job done Sky sources: Martin Olsson is on his way to the west Midlands to speak to West Brom in view of a £4million move from Norwich City.

cjslcfc Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 seems like west brom are getting the job done Sky sources: Martin Olsson is on his way to the west Midlands to speak to West Brom in view of a £4million move from Norwich City. Sigh. This is the one player I have wanted us to sign this window.
Fox92 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Wonder if Rickie Lambert will be going anywhere? Villa apparently.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Don't know why we care about the Baggies anyway as they ain't going down
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Don't know why we care about the Baggies anyway as they ain't going down They're not going down until it's safe to say somewhere nearer towards the end of the season. Everything else is just pure conjecture.
Fox92 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Don't know why we care about the Baggies anyway as they ain't going down Why not?
Matt Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Why not? Because if the cliche I keep reading of "there are 3 worse teams than us" is true there are certainly 3 worse teams than them, us probably being one of them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 All this nonsense about Pulis being a shite manager is exactly that. Shite. I expect him to keep West Brom up without too much problem and they have signed, or are looking to sign players I'd have loved at City. So far, we got Huth. Big deal.
CosbehFox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I think you are misreading the argument about Pulis. The criticism of him stems firstly onn the long term effects he has on a club as he completely ignores prospects etc. He has a very scatter gun approach to transfers too which don't think would sit easy with our owners. Also whether it was that realistic that we were ever going to be that attractive for him.

Just because you wanted us to sign the type of player Pulis got on West Brom's books doesn't mean they could or would have done the trick for us. In any case, we won't know until late April/early May, anyway. Besides, I can't recall many people on here calling Pulis "shite", more like terms in the "overrated" or "living off his reputation" category.

No one has said he's shite, just maybe not the managerial God he was made out to be. In your usual words, let's wait and see what happens.
Stevosevic Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 WBA aren't going down and we are not competing with them. Pulis will have them sitting in the upper of the bottom half without any issue.
theessexfox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Not sure the logic behind trying to complete so many deals on deadline day, makes no business sense at all to me.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 West Brom always had enough to stay up, like Sunderland they are tough to beat generally and will just do enough.

He knows what he wants and aggressively pursues it, has a set game plan where everyone knows what they are doing and a solid set up which doesn't concede too many. Say what you want, he is a very good survivalist

Donut Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Forgive my ignorance but how different exactly is Basque life to Spanish life? Just from a football perspective, the club comes under huge scrutiny from the Basque media, several previous players and managers have said that you are under a microscope at Sociedad and adaptation is tough.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Not sure the logic behind trying to complete so many deals on deadline day, makes no business sense at all to me.i see it like when you leave an essay until the day before it is due, then think '**** me it is due tomorrow' and so end up rushing, all stems from bad management or a lack of time to do deals like with Pulis or Pardew
