Penalty decisions like that always annoy me. Lowton just made sure he got a touch on the ball to push it in a different direction to that which he took to collide with Foster. He was never going to retain the ball and is just looking for the penalty. That said, Foster was a fool for diving in and inviting it.

Why do Sky and BT keep showing Tim Sherwood all the time? He had his own little box in the corner of the screen for several minutes at a time tonight!

BBC running with "Sherwood wins first points for Villa".

Sick of the media licking the arseholes of every new manager. Just spins the wheels on the managerial cycle even faster and is one of the biggest reasons this country's football has gone down the shitter.

What should they have run with then?

Have you actually read this forum recently, and all the posts in the last 10 minutes saying we've no one else to blame?

Haha all i can see are people posting ben foster twitter links. I and many others have been saying the bleeding obvious since early December but on Foxestalk if you are critical of Pearson or the squad you are basically labelled a non-fan.

We've saved face and beaten Derbys total so its not been a total disaster. Lets just not finish bottom. We are quite likely to not pick up the 7 points required between now and the end of the season to just get level with Villas total now never mind be on more than them come May lol.

I don't think we will win again this season.

Just loving your positivity mate. Get a ****in grip will ya. If we as supporters quit now then we're letting our team down. We wouldn't expect them to quit so why should we? Keep fighting to the death. It's not over til it's over.

Thats a fair point mate.

BUT in reality it aint looking great is it!!!!

The only thing that might cause us trouble is when Aston Villa, Burnley and QPR play each other.

Apart from that, we're golden.

Yeah but Brom played some lovely football.

Tonight they were dire. Without doubt. Tis football.

I expect you believe in father Christmas too.

I think you need to get a grip pal. A grip on reality. A realist is neither positive or negative.

Oh come on Raj, heat of the moment stuff where we went from being in with a slight chance to a keeper having an incredibly shit 30 seconds and gifting the game to Villa and pretty much sealing our fate.

Yeah i know Corky,it just sums up our crappy season though dont it?

We've blamed everyone and anyone.

I personally blame not swapping the Family Stand for the Kop when we had the chance....

Ah Well, must win game coming up at home to Hull and then we must be looking at taking at least 9 points in April too to leave us in with a shout. It isn't over yet people.

What you on about? Must win? No it isn't!

If we lose we won't be officially relegated therefore it ain't a must win game, let's piss that one up the wall aswell for the craic of it.

what we could do with, imo, is a few more people saying we need to blame our own players and not west brom. just in case, yano, the last 50 posts are loading for some people. THANKS.

Correct.

One of my biggest gripes with modern football is the media's cult of the manager: the way SKY and TalkSport sell big games as "It's Chelsea v Arsenal - it's Mourinho v Wenger"

What? No it's about the players on the pitch - the manager of each team is not in the 25 most important people taking part in the game once it starts.

It's lazy, derivative nonsense that panders to morons incapable of comprehending more than one person's role in a system.

Foster was worse than every bad performance any of our players has put in this season combined and at the end of the day it's those fine margins which keep teams in the prem.

Worst thing is even if we did the unthinkable and won tomorrow we'd still be no closer to survival then we were 2 hours ago.

Sobering thought that...

I guess the 'positive' is we wouldn't be even further off.

:crylaugh: @ people crying at other teams and players for our position!

Yet don't dare criticise our own players for our shit season.

Oh well, I guess we all have our own ways of dealing with things if making excuses and blaming others makes you feel better about it the go ahead, I just think people should look a little closer to home but that's my opinion others obviously have different ones.

While i'm 99% sure the "crying" at other teams is tongue in cheek, you can't deny that we've had no "luck" when it comes to situations like these. Sides seem to up their game when a loss for them would benefit us.

Fact is we haven't had a situation like tonight's goal go in our favour all season. While I don't think we're good, we're certainly not as bad as the table makes out.

I'd give my last quid to see us get the sort of gift Villa got tonight. We just don't get them and it's showing.
