Happy Fox Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Rather we sign Campbell for 800k than Ulloa for 6M. Proven premiership goalscorer vs Overpriced championship striker I wouldn't say he is proven but he has acquitted himself well in the premier league this past season with Cardiff. It is less of a gamble especially at 800K than Ulloa who would command a hefty fee, and isn't simply worth it.
Jon the Hat Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Clearly this would be a bargain if he stays fit. Having done his Cruciate Ligament twice in his career you would want to rely on him as your main striker.

His numbers were just OK but it was hard to find anything good in Cardiff's attack last season. Campbell was on a meteoric rise before his ACL injury. In a good system I think he can do well - it would certainly help us to sign Campbell if Nugent walked. But I would still be looking for a target man after this, I think, if it happens. Here is my favorite Fraizer Campbell Highlight from last year though - doing the 'Tan' after a goal! @USAFoxes
Vossen Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Another ex Man Utd star at Leicester...? along with Nick Powell...looks like were going for Utd Youth....sounds good too me!!!

Didn't know about his ACL injuries though. Mind you these days it's not a career threatening injury like it was back when poor old Gazza broke his on Gary Charles' balls. I really like Campbell. Him and Vardy together wouldn't give opposition defenders a moment's peace. Get him in. (With Ulloa).
BrummieFOX Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 I'd be very happy with this. He got 13 last season which is a good return for a Premier League striker regardless of who your playing for.
Brooksy Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Sky Sports - We understand Leicester City have triggered a release clause inCardiff striker Frazier Campbell's contract and are set for talks with the player over a move to the King Power Stadium. Campbell is set to hold talks with Leicester on Friday about the move with a number of other clubs chasing his signature.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Can start to believe now that Sky Sports have reported it.
DennisNedry Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 800k is a good price for him and I'd take him, however I think we need to do slightly better,

Corky Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 £800k isn't so bad, could well be a good deal. As said before, rather this than £6 million for Ulloa. Still believe we need one more striker, hopefully Cardozo but if not Lukaku on loan
Babylon Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 I think he'd be a decent addition. I know people keep mentioning a 25 man squad, but personally I think we need more than 25 just in case of last minute injuries. Then the one or two who don't make the squad are loaned out.

Babylon Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 What's the record for the least amount of cash spent by a premier league team on their first season after promotion?

lcfcsnow Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 What's the record for the least amount of cash spent by a premier league team on their first season after promotion? We can't be far off in 2003, really hoping we don't mess this up after 10 years in waiting.
Babylon Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Sadly you need to ask Derby methinks... Well Derby scraped up rather than trouncing the division, so I wouldn't worry too much.
Babylon Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 We can't be far off in 2003, really hoping we don't mess this up after 10 years in waiting. No guarantees no matter what you spend, look at the number of teams coming down with squads full of expensive players. Whatever happens, happens, there is no way of knowing what the other outcome may have been.
lgfualol Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 I would definitely support this if it's 800k. Is he a quick player? Good in the air? I cant research at the moment.
