Like Happy says, the Merc is no yardstick. They're notoriously last to most news on lcfc. Having worked in the local press for a number of years i can be pretty sure that whatever you read in the merc will be factual. They will have a close and probably good working relationship with the club. Its not in either parties interest not to get on. The merc will also have a reporter following the club full time and be assured will have hold of a story before any other media. If there is any truth in the Cardoza rumour then the merc would have reported on it by now whether positive or not. I believe that the club have had contact with Gareth Barry's agent about his availability hence the piece this morning. I do not work for the mercury and never have but knowing how the local press / football club communicate you will only read what is factual Also please take all of these so called news sites ie lcfc world etc etc etc with a pinch of salt. They are no more than a one man band working from a bedroom trying to drive traffic to a website in an effort to generate ad revenue.

To be fair, they were repeating rumours last season from what I remember. Especially in off season when the footy reporters are often off covering something else.
