Happy Fox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 As much as I feel that Cardozo actually signing for us is probably odds against, I can't see why the mass panic when the Merc posts that there's no interest! Let's be honest, this story has begun to leak from a number of foreign sites, (which might be due to some 'mischief' by the players agent), but IF, and I say if, there HAS been sniffing from our end, then surely it's not in the interest of LCFC to have the link splashed all over the internet! What better than to use your local press 'vehicle', (The Mercury), to 'leak' a no-interest denial!! Think back.....NP plays his cards very close to his chest. The "2-3 signings that we'll be bringing in" usually turns out to be double that. Also, in the last year or two, there have been 'no truth in the rumours' statements forthcoming for at least 3 players: ( Philips, Was, Wes), that have proven to be nothing more than smokescreens.....This could be another!! Spot on. It's happening Cardozo coming to City to win the FA Cup.
Buce Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 I thought about it and no, he still isn't coming. Ah, but would you want him to, Strokes? Just another bloody Johnny Foreigner, stealing jobs from British workers..
Ricey Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Realistically, this is his agent alerting other English clubs to his availability. Chances are we aren't actually interested.
MC Prussian Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Here is a link, with a direct quote from Cardozo's agent http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/liga-benfica-oscar-cardozo-pedro-aldave/5384c95a0cf2594956d8605e.html Still calls it a "possibility". Even if this should not come to fruition, it's nice to see the type of player we're now linked with.
KFS Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Definitely more interesting lusting over someone of his calibre as opposed to Leonardo Ulloa and Steve sodding Sidwell, that's for sure.
Happy Fox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 James Sharpe â€@TheSharpeEnd 10m In tomorrow's Mercury, Oscar Cardozo's agent has something to say on his player's situation and there's an update on Leonardo Ulloa. #lcfc We are already aware of that!!!, I thought we weren't interested......
Corky Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 I'm getting fed up this James Sharpe. Bring back Bill Anderson.
Buzzell Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 "Having completed seven epochs eagle to the chest" How did he survive that. Sounds like a nasty injury that.

Funny not interested. What do they do at the mercury? Wank over Richard the III and think of ways to piss us off?
sylofox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Despite what the mercury say I think we are genuinely in for him but it doesn't seem to fit the Pearson transfer mould we are used to seeing. When before did he have this money? Why do people hark back on the pearson mould when talking money. Even he is not sure he has nevr had this sort of money before.

They'll announce a headbutting competition between Cardozo and Ulloa - and whomever wins may play for us next season.

GingerrrFox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 The Mercury have one of the worst strike rates out of all newspapers on predicting the clubs transfer policies.
Brooksy Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 The Mercury have one of the worst strike rates out of all newspapers on predicting the clubs transfer policies. Yep, even worse than The Sun which says it all really.
Unabomber Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Does the Mercury just read what is going on here and then just write a story denying it? Why even do that, as what if we did go and sign him, it seems so unnecessary. They would have stories coming out of their arse if they did it for everyone we are going to be linked with over the summer.

I read a story earlier about a cat being stuck between two gravestones.
jayfox26 Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 I have always trusted Nigel's transfer dealings and will continue to do so, but I'll be disappointed if we got Ulloa ahead of Cardozo. Ulloa hasn't looked great for me every time I've seen him play and I've seen nothing from him to say he would be a hit in the prem. I know Ulloa has age on his side compared to Cardozo but I think we could get 2-3 good seasons out of Cardozo. If we had the chance to sign him I'd go all out for him. Top quality striker with a fantastic goal scoring record!

Robin JD Popley Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Another report from A Bola in Portugal everyone... Their Fans comments generally seem to suggest he is leaving. http://translate.google.com/translate?depth=1&hl=en&nv=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx%3Fid%3D480283%26rss%3D1 "It is the right time to leave Cardozo» - Pedro Aldave A- A + A The businessman Óscar Cardozo argued that the time has come to abandon the Paraguayan striker Benfica. "With 31 years and with few years of the contract, I think this is the time to leave Cardozo of Benfica. Last season did not have many opportunities to play due to injuries and other reasons, "said Peter Aldave, speaking to Urban radio. Entrepreneur of the Paraguayan striker also addressed the possible fate of the striker. 'I do not see so clearly the situation of Lokomotiv Moscow, but Leicester is possible.'
jammie82uk Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Just read this on coral Foxes boss Nigel Pearson will be targeting a marquee signing, as he steered the East Midlands outfit back into the top-flight for the first time in a decade. Cardozo won a domestic treble at the Estadio da Luz, after Benfica dominated Portuguese club football this term. A new challenge may lure him to the King Power Stadium, but his current employers want a reported fee of £12m if Leicester are to land their man. Pearson has already made several summer signings, and is also interested in Cardiff City forward Fraizer Campbell. This is from the daily mail Leicester City have expressed an interest in Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo. The 31-year-old has admitted he could leave this summer but the Portuguese champions want around £12million. Benfica representatives are due in London today for talks with interested parties. Leicester want Cardiff's Fraizer Campbell but also want a tall striker who can dominate opposition defenders. They had an interest in 6ft 5ins Lars Veldwijk of Excelsior but Cardozo would represent a ready-made player for the Premier League albeit stretching their budgeted resources. Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan have also shown interest in Cardozo. Nottingham Forest are understood to have made an offer for Veldwijk. I don't see no way we are going to spend anything near £12 mill on 1 player yet alone a 31 year old
