ealingfox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Leicester City has reached a mutual agreement with striker Marko Futacs for the cancellation of his remaining contract. The Hungarian forward becomes a free agent with immediate effect, ending his two-year association with the Foxes. Marko, 24, joined City in July 2012 following a spell in the Championship with Portsmouth and made 12 appearances during his debut season - scoring in a Capital One Cup defeat to Burton Albion and in a memorable 6-0 win over Ipswich Town. He spent time on loan with Blackpool towards the end of that season, before spending most of last season on loan with Hungarian club Diósgyőri VTK. Legend_in_blue Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Very disappointing news this. I hope a Premiership rival doesn't snap him up.
st albans fox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 at least it shows there are some people at the club and they're not all on holiday
Fox92 Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Which manager signed him for LCFC? The one that won the league.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Which manager signed him for LCFC? the glorified mid table manager
StanSP Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Which manager signed him for LCFC? At the time we had delusions of grandeur...
kingfox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 This is one of the saddest days I have endured as a Leicester fan.
Stuliasz Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse with Dyer leaving, only making four signings so far this summer, and now this.
stevelcfc Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 A dark day has come upon us, but we may rise up and become a force once again in the future. Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
Walshy5 Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 On a serious note good riddance. Gallagher next please!
MC Prussian Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 One of the last of our "glory days". Shame it didn't work out for him, but from what I've seen of Futacs in a Leicester City shirt, he could never live up to the hype surrounding his Portsmouth days. His first touch is/was terrible. I hope he'll continue to do well back home in Hungary and get his career back on track and wish Marko all the best. Maybe he'll be able to make a more longer-lasting impact in his native national football team in the next few years to come. Goodbye and good luck.
MooseBreath Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Pretty obvious indication that the owners have withdrawn financial backing in preparation to sell the club imo
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 This will be like Spurs losing Bale, you watch.
LCFC31 Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 So we are bidding 6.5 million on Ulloa when we have could have kept a READY MADE premier league target man in Futacs? I'm going to split opinions here, but I'm beginning to think Pearson isn't ready to manage a premier league club. Maybe the owners have spotted that too and that is the real reason they haven't renewed Nige's contract yet.
johnny the fox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 He will always have a special place in my heart.. mind you, I have a thing for tall men, leg end .
Soar Fox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 On a serious note good riddance. Gallagher next please! Good riddance is a bit harsh. Yes it hasn't worked out for him here, but he's hardly been a mercenary like Gallagher has. Free signing, low wages, not caused the club any problems. Thanks for your minimal time here Marko, we move one
