Bryn Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Stuck to his task, having clearly been told to do a lot of defending. Clattered there towards the end, I think that's the right time to take the young lad off.
RowlattsFox Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Not just saying it because it's Mahrez but that's a poor sub. Always an option for the ball on left. Has worked hard though so maybe feeling it.
foxer Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Algeria now at 9-1. Would be more like 2-1 if Mahrez wasnt subbed off.
jimmeh Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Mahrez off, he's been quality though What he looked average.
Finnaldo Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Done enough to start again in my opinion, did his job well (as did all the team) and his more adventurous stuff didn't why play out all the time. However against a weaker Russia or South Korea I feel he could do a good job.
Haydos Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Very poor match so far tbh, Lukaku is very overrated, I said it at times last season when for Everton, terrific finisher, but back to goal his first touch and lay offs are seriously poor. De Bruyne & Chadli have been absolutely useless, really surprised Mirallas didn't start. Algeria have done nothing in an attacking sense, but their defence has frustrated Belgium, their left-back Ghoulam looks decent. Oh yeah, I remember you telling us all after he scored that hat-trick last month...

AKCJ Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 What he looked average. Really? He's always been composed with his dribbling, well timed in his tackles and has pegged Alderweirled back all game. Considering its his first really big game, he's been fine. Algeria's best IMO.
StanSP Posted 17 June 2014 Author Posted 17 June 2014 Mahrez goes off and Algeria concede. Coincidence?
RowlattsFox Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 That's what happens when a team has been so defensive. Always going to concede the second
Dan Posted 17 June 2014 Posted 17 June 2014 Genuinely - would that second have happened if Mahrez was on the pitch? He was practically a left back at times.
