broughtonblue Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Although cahills goal was technically brilliant, I have seen these scored a few times and also tried but no end result. So my goal of tournament so far has to be RVP's header, never seen an attempt let alone a goal like it before, pretty sure no one else would of even thought about doing it, preferring to bring it down on their chest first. Your nominations? Could do a poll at the end of the tournament from our nominations
Unabomber Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Benzema's that wasn't given would've been up there, but I have to agree about RVP's as it was something else.
ScouseFox Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 robben vs spain. the second is better than the first but that one was pretty boss too. shoutout to both our goals, both cracking moves.
Jimothy Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Sterling v Italy for the 30 seconds I thought it was in.
Fox92 Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Talking about Benzema, his second goal against Honduras was good... Hit it first time, but it was controlled.
Mrfox452 Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Cahil's goal was brilliant, but Chile's first goal against Spain deserves a shout imo.
AKCJ Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Cahill's was brilliant considering the player, the situation and the fact it was in the sun and on his wrong foot.Superb technique. If Messi scored it everyone would go mental.
Stuliasz Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Cahill should walk this. To take a volley from a long ball over your shoulder is hard enough, to do it on your weaker foot when you're not particularly famed for technique is fantastic. Reminded me a bit of this which won goal of the season I believe:
One Legged Beaver Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Not my finest moment, was sat around pondering about when Gary Cahill had scored this tournament
Ric Flair Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Not my finest moment, was sat around pondering about when Gary Cahill had scored this tournament Hahahahahaaaa and me!!
MC Prussian Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Cahill's was something else, one of the finest volleys you'll ever see.
Ric Flair Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 A diving header is a rarity in football, they are as beautiful to see as a crisp £50 note. What makes RVP's goal even more special is the cross/forward pass was over 50 yards and for him to create the arc and power to get the header precisely where he got it was ridiculous. In any other tournament Tim Cahil's goal would have the award sewn up but that header was a piece of art.
Bryn Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 I really enjoyed Dempsey's goal last night, lovely move.
Jimothy Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 I liked the second Swiss goal against France, but as others have said it easily RVP, followed by Cahill.
Aus Fox Posted 28 June 2014 Posted 28 June 2014 Has J.Rodriguez jumped into the lead? Yes, you'll have to watch a lot of football to see a better goal than that, pure class.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 28 June 2014 Posted 28 June 2014 Has J.Rodriguez jumped into the lead? That was magnificent. Each replay it just seemed to become more and more impressive
Nalis Posted 29 June 2014 Posted 29 June 2014 1. Rodriguez 2. RVP 3. Cahill Pretty much this. Really liked the 2nd Colombia goal too.
