foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Didn't hear the commentator mention it but I just saw the name Gelson Fernandes up on the screen and recognised the name thinking he played for Leicester, did a quick search and he did! Can't really remember him playing for us, apparently he made 15 apperances scoring once. Knew I recognised the name as soon as I saw it though. He was meant to be a major player for us under Sven, but didn't work out.
Brooksy Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Other than that 10 minutes at Forest he did fvck all for us really, was disappointing. Think he left as soon as NP returned.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Argentina probably the biggest disappointment for me. Think Messi has been okay but this is a team that shouldn't need him to carry them.
Raj Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 surely it's not that bad.it aint good Ron...it aint bloody good!!!!
fazzyfox Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Argentinian cookery class:- Q - How do you make a Swiss Roll? A- Tackle him late from behind
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Since we reached the round of 16, it's like no one wants to win the cup. Edit - obviously, that's a collective "we", meaning the watching world.
Jonezy Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 What a borefest this is.... Really disappointed with the Argies, who seem to rely way too much on Messi.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 In my lifetime the Argies have always had someone methodical who can dictate the tempo of games from the middle of the park, a Veron or Riquelme type; but there doesn't seem to be any technical class in central areas with this bunch, certianly not in the same bracket as those pair. They've got plenty of strong attacking options but they all seem to crowd each other out and are having to compensate for a weak (in a creative sense) central midfield.

Di Maria is loosely what people refer to as a "False 10" in the modern game, basic translation a winger who gets stuck in the middle of the park, he just runs at people and not really the kind of player you look to to dictate a game. Much as people like to make Mascherano out to be decent deep lying player he's just a thug who likes to hurt people. You are quite right the lack a proper influence in the middle of the park.
HEGGSY Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Di Maria has been awful I knew he was gonna score. Reverse psychology.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Looks like it's going to be all the group winners in the quarters unless USA pull off a shock.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 I nearly posted that di Maria was bound to score the winner because he'd had such a stinker. Lionel did well.
One Legged Beaver Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Absolutely sickening. First real chance we've allowed them and they bury it.
Nalis Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 More action in the last 3 minutes than the last 117 combined.
