Youngy shunned by BBC

He didn't follow us until he got the job, which he was very lucky to get. He then used this opportunity to flog a book which wouldn't have sold a tenth of the amount it did if he hadnt got the radio Leicester job. At a push he probably followed notts county's results on teletext.

What part of the show last week did he apparently swear?

I'm gonna guess he's crossed the line somewhere by trying to get tickets for the Liverpool home game or something.

No doubt his hatred of Stringer will only increase now he's gone. I almost imagine stringer prodding his face up against the glass door with a smile as Alan clears his desk of Jock Wallace memorabilia and freshly ironed £3 LCFC reduced section shirts.

I never wanted him gone but it shows the arrogance of the man to think the apparent 40% increase was in any way down to the quality of broadcast.

Agree with everything this guy has said, it's so cringe on facebook and twitter with this love in of this moron. Does anyone go to a game anymore ? I never got why people were so obsessed with getting their picture with him or getting his book.

Back on the dole AL, atleast you and your kids can go back to supporting Liverpool now.

Brian Little would be fooking unbelievably great.

The reaction on twitter is a bit strange. People pretending like something outrageous has happened when it really hasn't.

He had his faults as a commentator so it can't be come as a surprise that RL wanted someone else. Fair enough if people liked the guy but it's a bit childish for them to act like he's been horribly mistreated when he clearly hasn't.

So why didn't they get rid of Stringer when he was constantly fueling the Pearson out fire?

To be honest Mark it should be fairly easy to see that I haven't got a fvcking clue what i'm on about in the first place . But Stringers my wife now.

People on here calling youngy blind and then wanting Brian Little to take his place.:rolleyes: Yep the same Brian little that got the whole of the Filbert street crowd to hold up placards saying LIAR !

Short memories or what ? At least Youngy did not lie his way out of a contract so that we would not get compensation from Villa for his desertion to them. :nigel:

Can't say I blame BBC for making this decision, Young's bias is extreme - though you could argue his bias towards Leicester on BBC Radio Leicester is justified, I just think his commentary hasn't been as good recently with Leicester playing like champions.

That being said, I always love and appreciate Young's post-match opinions and honesty towards supporters, kind of like the Eddie Jordan of F1.

They better find someone on the fans side to replace him otherwise the radio will be a baron and boring place, especially with 10k more fans not listening because theyre at the game, and a good few more watching on TV or streams next year.

Would you rather have a conversation about Leicester with Stringer or Young? I think i'd have to walk away from Stringer after he says the usual 5 cliche's - and I kind of enjoy Young's accent whenever I listen. Pretty sure half-time will be a lot more bearable now Stringer won't have a sandwich buddy.

Not sure something that happened 20 years ago counts as short memories?!

I heard from someone who works in the corporate boxes that Radio Leicester want Jobber to commentate.

Apparently he's friends with Stringer and RL want someone with passion & enthusiasm.

I hope not.

I know for a fact in the past he's not conducted himself well in and around the club.

The selebrity game he just walked in without having any tickets, the game was for charity and had nothing to do with LCFC. He was questioned as to what he was doing and said something similar to "do you know who I am".

There is talk on FB of a demonstration outside RL buildings before and during the Forum on Monday evening.

Will be an interesting show.

Can see ratings for Radio Leicester drop significantly next season anyway.

You're either going to be down the ground or watching via some stream online.

Wow, if only these people talking about demonstrations about a poxy (and very poor) commentator cared so much about the atmosphere and club itself. Imagine that.

#Getalife.

I'm not sure how that's going to affect a show that takes place in a sound-proof room.

People need to mobilise about something that actually matters and directly affects them, y'know the slow privatisation of their public sector, the slow deterioration of their privacy, etc. etc.

I feel sorry for Alan, but he's been given the heavy-ho for a reason. These people are supporting him without actually knowing what he's been released for. Blindly jumping on a bandwagon...the naughty giant corporation sacking people for no reason, because that's what all of them do.

SF, I've put in bold the bit I'm responding to. I meant that it will be an interesting show to see what they have to say, if anything, regarding Alans departure or if the people outside demonstrating will be mentioned or indeed if callers will be allowed to discuss. It was meant as an aside to my point of there being talk of a demo.

Will be interesting to see if there is a gagging order put on Stringer
