jonthefox Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Iv'e just read this myself. I wonder who's in line to replace him ?
Robin JD Popley Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Bit of a surprise considering he was doing the 'phone in' aka Let's Listen to this Monday.
Out Foxed Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 a bit of a shame in the sense you are used to him. but consistently getting players names wrong among other things, it's hardly surprising they were looking at him closely.
ToeKneeHandCock Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 He does make mistakes and he drives me mad at times but I feel for the guy losing out on the opportunity to commentate on us in the Prem.
Ricey Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Nothing against him at all and I appreciate his undoubted passion for the club, but he's the main reason I stopped listening to RL commentary towards the end of last season. If you believed everything he said, you'd think every referee we had last season was a 4-year-old child who had a grudge against Leicester. I'd just get more and more worked up listening to him and wondering why the referee hasn't awarded at least one of the 42 stone wall penalties that Youngy insists we should have had.
BigWesMorgan Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Shame. He was always very enthusiastic and did often give a good opinion from his footballing experiences.
LCFC31 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Big shame this. He wasn't the best co-commentator, but he was one of the most entertaining I've ever listened to.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Bit disappointed by this. Although the pair were incredibly cheesy together and often talked about sandwiches, they did have a good rapport and made the matches more exciting. Can't think who'll be next… Lee Danns? He did it once, said about 4 words but managed to stay off his guitar
Charl91 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I enjoyed his commentary (even if it wasn't the most reliable). This is a massive shame.
lgfualol Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I prefer him to Ian. Feel bad for the guy. I wont be listening to Radio Leicester anyway when there are TV streams every game.
tokyo_fox Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Well I'm quite shocked to have heard this news. Never had any problems with his radio output on RL.
LCFC FOX Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I wonder what Ian will say on the football forum on Monday, I can see Steve Walsh or Muzzy Izzet replacing him
bovril Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Commentated like he played - with enthusiasm and honesty that made up for the odd mistake. Good luck Youngy.
notnow john Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Never been my favourite (Ali Mauchlin was) but I hate to see an obvious city fan lose the job they love.
Aarongu Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I'm not his biggest fan but I do feel genuinely gutted for him.
Lionator Posted 11 July 2014 Author Posted 11 July 2014 I wonder what Ian will say on the football forum on Monday, I can see Steve Walsh or Muzzy Izzet replacing him Average imo. I'm no fan of Young but he brings a bit of flair and something different to the role.
BigWesMorgan Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 Plot twist: He was sacked because he is signing a 4 year deal with LCFC to be our new striker
Bryn Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I feel for him, I do. He wasn't the slickest commentator but he clearly loved doing it, was incredibly passionate and obviously loves the club. They could at least give him a reason, which I am sure is basically that they feel a Premier League club needs a higher quality commentator. If they get in another former player who is equally unskilled but less passionate I'll be very annoyed.
VLC86 Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I recon if the squad got hold of this info they could start a petition, I heard Luke Moore and David Vardy are especially upset.
Xen Posted 11 July 2014 Posted 11 July 2014 I wonder what Ian will say on the football forum on Monday, I can see Steve Walsh or Muzzy Izzet replacing him Was gonna say the same. They've both been guest commentators before as well, haven't they? Reckon it'll be Walshy, personally.
