Yeah and if we're shit all the people in here sucking of Nigel Pearson will be calling for his head and calling his incoming players wank, that's what makes me laugh.

People always say this and it's absolute nonsense. Dangerous Tiger, Seeinitall, Col, 5waller5 etc. will be calling for his head, most of the people genuinely supporting him now will still be supporting him next season.

Is it just me that scrolls quickly down all the long winded boring posts without any interest in the hope there is a post with a Rob Tanner tweet with some actual news?!

Yes its just you ..you fascist..

Nah, more than half the forum wanted him gone during that bad run we were on 12/13.

We're bottom at Christmas with his new additions looking crap I'll be surprised if 25% still want him

Didn't you think to check Twitter, that's normally where I'd go if I want to see a tweet.

Well none of the polls we had at the time suggested that if my memory serves me correct. Support from him on Foxes Talk, based on the many Pearson out polls we did was always above 50%.

Manwell- there are a few things you don't seem To be getting.

TV money is much more that it ever has been- everone wants some. Prices are often going to reflect that

Whether players want to come or not is a factor. If we sound out their agents and get a negative response it will go no further. Then of course there is temperament. That is often an important factor.

Wages- Nigel will NOT sign someone who has high wages that will be disproportionate to the current team- he feels it will upset the balance.

In other words just because there maybe one striker available for 3 million doesn't mean we can click our fingers and make him our player

And look at what MON did for us. No big names in there, but it didn't work out too badly for us.

Yes, but how long before we were relegated again. We need to ESTABLISH ourselves, and not be a "yo-yo" club

I understand both of those points, perfectly.

What the rest of you don't seem to grasp if there are players who are A) Cheaper and B) Probably will play for less than a 10 million pound Ulloa, in European football. That simple.

what makes me laugh, is people that write players off before they've even kicked a ball in a competitive game! You may be right and Ulloa may end up being a waste of money, but I don't understand people writing a player off so early. I wonder if Southampton fans moaned this much when they paid £7m for a championship player (jay Rodriguez)

But we know from signings like Knockaert and Mahrez that our management team are open to looking abroad for cheaper options. It's not like they're a certain other recently promoted manager I don't want to mention by name for fear of 500 identical posts about him.

 I'd say we were established in the Premier League under MON.

4 top 10 finishes and 2 cups ain't too bad.

Yes which is why going down the route he has puzzles me more than it would do normally to be honest.

Especially with the "you wont of heard of our targets line" in June

I think he was trolling Kingfox to be honest. Good for him.

lol Of course as he's not worth it now. It will have turned out to be shrewd, however at this moment in time, he's not done enough to warrant that price at his age.

And I say this with some confidence. He isn't going to net 20 next season, so it's a mute point.

your opinions are moot.

****ing hell why do 95% of threads on here turn into utter shite

We have paid a lot of money for Ulloa, anyone who thinks we haven't is kidding theirselves. I also don't buy that it's solely because transfers have gone crazy this summer either. Pearson has simply identified Ulloa as a player he desperately wanted and like most clubs Brighton had an over inflated price they wanted for him. Most clubs wouldn't have gone about £5 million including ad dons for him and would have tried to force Brighton in to accepting a lower bid with usual tactics. I can't argue with Nigel's transfer policy too much over the years here so I'm going to just get on with it.

If we pay 8 figures for Deeney then I'm going to be severely worried about the future of English football and whether Nigel has lost his way a bit. We're walking a dangerous rope if we spunk nearly £20 million on 2 Championship players who won't have much re-sale value if they did prove themselves. We're not talking about one of the nations brightest youngsters here, these are two above average Championship players who might succeed but have just as much chance of not doing.

Every promoted team seems to do a good amount of dough on players from that level and I'm happy to leave it at Ulloa for now, unless Nathan Redmond or Leroy Fer want to come here.

On a different note, if Ulloa got us 7 PL goals and all of them won us 3 points then that would be classed as a valuable contribution. It's all about staying up this season and then progressing when you seem to attract a better calibre of player once you've survived a season.

So to clarify, SAY NO TO DEENEY

Especially with the "you wont of heard of our targets line" in June

I was expecting a bid for Ulloa this summer as soon as he scored that second goal against us in April. We did the same with Drinkwater when he ran the show for Barnsley against us. Ulloa just looked so different to what we already have. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting us to pursue him so much and at such cost, but we could hardly have a manager who's more careful with money than Pearson.

To be honest, I'm not too bothered about the price tag. It's not like we've spent tens of millions and can't afford to waste a penny. If we don't spend much else this summer then it won't be a big outlay overall relative to our income.

I also don't think you can judge Ulloa too accurately based on his time at Brighton given that it looks like we'll be playing him alongside a strike partner. It's a completely different role.

As for whether he'll be effective or not, well... he could score five and yet be a huge success. He could, at a push, score ten and yet be a failure. The key is how much we are sacrificing both in attack and defence through taking pace and pressing out of our forward line, and whether Ulloa can make up for that through strength, aerial ability and finishing.

That would still be the case even if we'd signed a cheaper target man from a foreign league.
