We've been making major strides forward for the last two years. I agree in the restructuring process mate, but, what I am talking about is transforming us from an excellent Championship team/lower to mid table Premiership club to achieving the actual long term goals of our owners and us as fans to be back in Europe. I know it doesn't happen overnight but, albeit with a lot more money being thrown around the place, look at Man City. Not too long ago, a big club like us in the 'wrong' division and in a matter of just a few years had a meteoric rise and now are going into tomorrow as defending champions (their second Premier League title). I, stress as before, that isn't a realistic goal for us unless we hit an oil rig and buy everyone under the sun BUT its the intent process. Seeing someone like Cambiasso in a Leicester shirt may make players looking to move here think we are a decent bet to buy into and share in something very special.

I'm from the generation that remembers the Johan Cruff potential signing :-( I'm in France on my hols atm and gutted to miss the Everton game - but this really is a massive signing by the club, probably the biggest I've ever known. We're not just making up the numbers anymore!!!!! :-)

Journalists generally have better insight into transfers because they have more contact with clubs/agents etc. Faceless ITK-braggers are just looking for a bit of Twitter/messageboard fame. Which is why rumours circulate long before they become official, particularly locally as it's in everyone's interest the local media and the club get on. No one wants a situation like they had down the road at the Big Top in notts.
