Babylon Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 £10m for Fraser Forster.... £30m for Wes Morgan, sounds about right.
StanSP Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 In famous words from The Last Leg, 'don't be a dick, Wes'.
Nalis Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Basic economic s dictates otherwise, ie, he is worth more to us than Southampton would be willing to spend.
theessexfox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Far nicer place to live than Leicester, can see this happening
SlaneyLCFC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Far nicer place to live than Leicester, can see this happening wow..... close thread please.
Westlife Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 They also have a nicer morrisons! I think you'll find Waitrose is the supermarket of choice on the South Coast . . .
fleckneymike Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Expect a few more of these. Wes is captain, potential new player set to earn 30k+ a week, captain will want parity so release a transfer rumour so agent can say pay Wes what he now wants or we'll go to a cash rich club who will.
MHC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 This will not happen, Southampton would be daft to meet the club's valuation which I suspect is high. In today's market he has got to be worth close to 10 million, which of course is scandalous.
Dr The Singh Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I hope this is true, good to see our clubs players getting attraction!
mugshot Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 And we know the answer they'll get... F**k off balloon heads! fixed it
Carlos88LCFC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I love being a cash rich club that can demand high fees and not crumble at the first bid! Makes a change!

He's just signed a new one hasn't he so he won't be getting anything.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Are there flights from EMA to Southampton, if not I can't see this hapoening. Only via Belfast Thankfully! or he cold be signing for cork city?
fleckneymike Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 He's just signed a new one hasn't he so he won't be getting anything. If he re-signed on say 12k and now Cambiasso comes in on 40k I'd expect him to renegotiate immediately regardless of how recently he'd renewed.

I think other players may well accept that a player who has played for two of the top clubs in the world, as well as amassing 50 caps for a top country will have the capacity to command a higher wage. It's not just his footballing ability we are paying for, but what he can add in knowledge to our young midfielders and the pulling power it may have in future transfers. It's showing the club wants to go places.

I would like to think that our players couldn't care what the club were paying him, because to play alongside and learn from such a brilliant player would be worth it to them as well. It's not like we're making signings from the Championship and putting them on a higher wage, that would cause upset.
