Well it's okay for a start, good chance of getting into round three. Be interesting to see how many turn up, I can imagine Shrewsbury will bring a few down being their big day out and a short trip.

Shrewsbury isn't that close tbh

Win the League Cup and finish 17th I'll settle for that.

To be fair it is full of freak results but other than that game against Burton we've generally handled these kinds of ties professionally.

Great opportunity for the youth to prove themselves and get some experience below their belts.

Shame Youngy isnt commentating he could have banged on and on about 5-2, playing in goal etc etc

Should be an easy route through if approached properly. I know people want exciting games but there's not much to complain about IMO. The games I really want to see are those later in the competition. Leave Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal 'til then.

On paper, we should be winning this. However, cup rules apply so we ought to be aware of the Shrews.

I wouldn't take this game too lightly.

Then again, Premier League survival comes before cup success.

Hope a few of the youngsters will make an appearance to amass some matchday experience.

did I miss something ? where has he gone?

Not Marcin Wasilewski.

James Wesolowski, injury-prone midfielder who used to play for us.

Bit of a harsh assessment of a lad who looked a class above any of our other midfielders at 17, until Balde smashed his leg!

Was he particularly injury prone? He broke his leg which affected his career massively, aside from that he was hardly out every other week from what I remember. Played a decent amount of games in 06-07 & 07-08 considering he had to fight for his place.

Did he not break his leg on two different occasions? It might've even been three actually.

He could've genuinely been a very decent player IMO but we'll never know.

Yes but he'd hardly played for us when he did it the second time and hadn't even made his debut the first time. Once he got fit he was fairly reliable.
