Upson didn't miss a game last year. Injuries happen.

which makes you wonder.. i reckon he's been pinged for something. Possibly PED's

He's foreign, with a typically foreign name, from a relatively obscure league. Get him in.

We'll worry about if he's good or not later.

Quality player , i doubt £4 mill would secure his signature, at the rate we concuct transfers maybe one for next season

What if no other PL club wants him?

he's good. Someone will if he is available. Of course it just possible that we've found a player with an agent who doesn't leak stuff in order to get a better deal elsewhere ........ Doh!

I don't think the clubs that would be interested in him would pay more than £30,000 a week. The likes of Jan Vertonghen who was one of the most sought after defenders in Europe when at Ajax is only on that amount when he signed for Spurs!!!

Think we lack some physical presence in midfield and whilst this guy is a very creative player by all accounts at 5ft 5" isn't going to give us that.

So you can't be strong and physical if you are short lol lol lol

Just because other clubs can offer more, it doesn't guarantee they will.

Ones a defensive mid, the other is a playmaker so it'd be off if you were right. ...

Didn't think we would be in for both - not disputing what position they play in.

You know the saying 'a good big un is better than a good little un'  If you think that he'll match the strength, power and pace of say Yaya Toure, I think you may be disappointed. You only have to witness the Crystal Palace game at home two season's ago - their big, strong and physical midfield over ran ours away in the first 20 minutes.

Who does match Toure though? Matic?

Yeah I was going to mention us buying Messi but he's only 5ft 7" so he won't offer us much of a physical presence either.

Think you guys are missing my point - I'm not disputing small players can be creative and the best player in the world is as you say only 5ft 7" - I'm saying we probably have enough of these types of players and that I'd prefer someone with a bit more height and physical strength to combat big physical sides - we aren't Barcelona, so we aren't going to out pass many teams in this league.

I hope so, we NEED to add a midfielder before the Arsenal game. Maybe we have just linked ourselves with this player to get Cambiasso to hurry up and sign, I don't know but we must get someone in before the Arsenal game. No mucking about, just pay what's required and offer the guy what he wants, we haven't got any time to waste. Hopefully we will recruit a couple this week.
