ozleicester Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 Its far from the end of the world, but id rather see us (and any team) playing in their original strip where possible. Love seeing Blue Vs Red... its like Subbuteo of the 70s for me

One Half Wonder Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 It's because they play in white shorts like us, they have always played in their yellow away kit at Leicester for the same reason. I'd try not to get worked up about it buddy.

Blanesta Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 Are we not allowed to play in our home strip then if we are playing away ???? No it is strictly forbidden!
Aus Fox Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 As one half said, the shorts arsenal do not have an all red kit, so they had to change to avoid a clash of white shorts.

MC Prussian Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 Why? Are Leicester not worthy or something, all of a sudden? Why ? Why ? Why ? Why do you think they have to play in their home kit away from home?

I'd try not to get worked up about it buddy. Bergkamp looked great in yellow when he scored his hat trick against us, and I've never seen a better two footed tackle in yellow when Ashley cole took out Ben thatcher. Oh wait they were wearing red then.

Ricey Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 It's because they don't like changing their white shorts on their home kit as they see the kit as iconic. In the past they've still worn their home kit against us, including white shorts, but I think the regulations have changed since then to insist that both teams can't be wearing the same colour shorts or socks. Fox92 Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 Wow. Some of you are so harsh. He's only asked a question regarding the away kit ffs. And I noticed. Of course Arsenal could have played in their home kit, but they played in yellow due to merchandising.
Fox Ulike Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 Really! people care what the away team wear. Get a life I care. Arsenal have always done it even back when Wright and Bergkamp came to Filbert Street... which I find kind of annoying. It's like they're not really bothered about us so don't bother dressing up for the game. (I will try and find a life.)

Harry - LCFC Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 I'm not sure about this white shorts thing. It's preferable yes, but is it really necessary? Socks need to be different colours for the ref to see legs in tackles but shorts don't seem that important. Leeds wore all white in the 12/13 season after all. Nalis Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 The fact that this has even been raised as a talking point just goes to show how little we have to complain about on the pitch.
pleatout Posted 1 September 2014 Share Posted 1 September 2014 There was a time when the powers that be argued that kits should be "opposites" red/blue v white/yellow shirts black/blue/red v white/yellow shorts. This was because tv coverage was sold to parts of the world with huge numbers of black and white tvs. The subbuteo red/white v blue/white were very hard to tell apart. Hence man u used to wear black shorts sometimes. Not sure how true it was or if it still applies. I suspect it is more marketing though. If anyone can tell me why we need 3 kits though as the only blue/yellow clash I can see is Brazil [or Oxford]
