The Doctor Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 But do you serve them at the game? Forgot one. Proper beer. Nope, we import them from elsewhere - like yourselves, you can't claim bits of Wigan as your own. Moorhouse is an overrated brewery, everards wipes the floor with it. This is a proven fact from blind taste tests at my local
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 We ARE better than Burnley in every way. But you're wrong if you think we showed that with today's performance.
Thracian Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Irrespective of whether Pearson was right or wrong with his comments about Burnley i didn't see the psychological sense of making them. We have to play burnley away later in the season and nothing will serve to motivate them more than being told we're "better than them". Instead of commenting on other clubs, our management should be looking at their own decision-making and figuring out why we've dropped five points out of the last six against modest opposition including two against a team that's declaredly worse than us.

I'll buy you a pint in April.
Bert Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Here two you can't argue with. 1) pies. 2) acheivements. Here's one we can. 3) spelling.
Mark_w Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Claret and blue looks a bit classier than blue if you ask me.
Mark_from_USA Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Pearson is right, as usual. With our squad, that's a match we should win. He doesn't care about what Burnley thinks. Its our own squad he's calling out. We have more quality, they have a bunch of injuries and and under strength squad overall. We should win these matches. Teams are going to come in trying to scrap for every ball and harry our players nonstop. Its the same reason we struggled against the likes of Doncaster and Yeovil last year. We need to learn to shake off tactics like this. Hopefully we will.
The Doctor Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 How dare you. Have you tried Pride Of Pendle?. I'll buy you a pint in April. I have, my local has pride of Pendle and everards tiger as it's regular beers, and tiger is superior
eastendfox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We have better players. But as yet we don't have a definitely better team. Last season we had few changes and were able to play the same week in week out. We're not doing that this season, but don't think we've yet learned properly how to adjust for different kinds of games. Maybe to be expected. I think we'll be ok in terms of staying up, we have goals in us, and plenty of squad depth. But it might be unnecessarily close if we don't get settled soon.
Bevan Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We have a better team without a doubt but burnley fought harder and wanted it more and were good value for their point but these are the games we need to be getting 3 points in
Raw Dykes Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Claret and blue looks a bit classier than blue if you ask me. Are you being serious? I've always been glad that my club doesn't wear claret and blue. It's always struck me as a very old-fashioned and out-of-date colour combo. I imagine it was fashionable for a brief spell in the 19th century. There's something a bit depressing about it. Where else in the world do you see it other than those few football clubs?
CosbehFox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Corky is bang on with this; he had no need to lower himself with such bitter comments. Maybe if we won he could afford to say that but after that performance where his players looked arrogant? No way. His comment about Burnley stems from his dislike of Lee Hoos and I've been told he's not on great terms with Dyche either.
fuchsntf Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We dont have better players, or a better squad.........At the moment!! Burnley came to the KP, with their so called best players out, an injury hit squad. Leicester had no injury problems, could chose from an array of 1st teamers. 1st half both teams actually played at pace both played out some good moves. Not below par a good game. Leicester though were the better team and should have closed out the game. 2nd half though city again had in the 1st 15 and last 15min decent chances to be far gone Burnley however with their 2nd 11 played our midfield out of the game, they WERE better and shown more nous on the ball. We didnt try to win the midfield battle, Burnley filled the middle of the pitch and seemed to out fight us. That said, our defence seemed to be in control, until a very stupid last 5 minutes.3 corners we couldnt hold the ball and keep possesion for the dying minutes, either in their corners, or in our defensive 1/4. Goals:- Burnley will have their reasons for citys 2 goals, but both good swift moves. Burnleys 1st goal again good move, but unlike Burnleys defence, citys defence left a great hole around the 6 yard box after the knockback, allowing Kightly to run into empty space.Kasper sorry, but it should of been your ball before the cross after the knockback. 2nd goal, just poor defending from james.Free kick...., 10 years ago no complaints, it was the walls to defend, but today Kasper should of trusted his reactions, and stood 1 yard nearer the middle.Nice goal to score, horrible one to lose. Overall...Burnley played their part of a game of 2 halfs, and deserved a result for their fight and determination. City had the better and more chances, again no leader on the pitch, nobody took responibilty for the middle of the park, Players job on the day, not Pearsons. Pearsons mistake maybe, was not bringing on James earlier. unlike some, yes we made mistakes, the result may not have been the right one, but I enjoyed the game, and no It wasnt a championship quality, I thought it was a good hard fought game, with some top moves.City lost their rythm in the 2nd half, so what thats football. Now some players and some fans will realise our next 6 games, have to be competed for.
LCFC Rennie Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Here two you can't argue with. 1) pies. 2) acheivements. Where are Pukka pies made?
justfoxes Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We are better than Burnley it's just so frustrating to watch us throw 2points away against a side we should have comfortably beaten. I wish at times Jeff would look up and pass the ball instead of taking on every player and some of his shots wouldn't be out of place at Wellford rd he has the ability to be a really skilful player! Mahrez is awesome and Vardy is a little Dynamo we seemed to sit back and allow burnley to come At us and you could see in the last 20min the equaliser was coming if we didn't get the third I've read in places that this is Leicester's meltdown but that is a load of Bollocks excuse the boloocks word ! But people who write that and spout that need to have their heads examined or go for a few courses of ECT !! This is no meltdown it's just a glitch I do feel NP changed the squad a bit we missed Cambiasso bossing the midfield and some players were not at their best we gifted both goals to burnley but that games Over and we can't do anything about it now so let's focus now on the Newcastle game and let's hope the lads get back to their awesome performances !!
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I thought Pearson came across as holding back his anger, but disrespectful of the opposition. Not his best interview
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I have, my local has pride of Pendle and everards tiger as it's regular beers, and tiger is superior I've never tried Pride of Pendle (I've never even heard of it) but Tiger is a batch of old arse.

His comment about Burnley stems from his dislike of Lee Hoos and I've been told he's not on great terms with Dyche either. He was very complimentary of both Dyche and Burnley after our victory in March before SD decided to undermine all the hard work Pearson has done here by continually talking about expenditure.

His comment about Burnley stems from his dislike of Lee Hoos and I've been told he's not on great terms with Dyche either. There must be an element of Hoos involved in all this, as he mentioned "every respect". Dyche and Pearson seemed to be getting on really well before the match in March, it stemmed from there. I've never known Pearson to fall out with another manager, so I wonder if things have happened away from the spotlight too? I'm sure this is a one off, unique situation.
BlackburnClaret Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 He was very complimentary of both Dyche and Burnley after our victory in March before SD decided to undermine all the hard work Pearson has done here by continually talking about expenditure. Like I said at the time, it's easy to play the honourable, nice guy after a win.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Like I said at the time, it's easy to play the honourable, nice guy after a win. There's being honorable and there's actively saying you'd like a club to come up with you, it would've been just as easy for him to play Billy Big Bollocks after we'd comfortably beaten you and as good as ensured our status as champions. He's clearly been irked by the guff Dyche churned out after that game.
Finnegan Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Like I said at the time, it's easy to play the honourable, nice guy after a win. Pearson's never controversial, win, lose or draw. It's why he's always labelled boring.

ScouseFox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 whilst i agree with what pearson said it pissed me off a bit. dunno why he didn't just say "listen, chaps, sean dyche is a nob jockey ok" instead of making a weird dig at burnley on the whole.
