lgfualol Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Must be a bit crap being a Burnley player. Hearing your manager tell the press that you lost because they havent spent the money to replace you. Not very encouraging.
Corky Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Honest question - has Pearson ever used lack of investment as an excuse for a loss in a post-match interview? (Excusing tongue in cheek comments possibly made following FA/League Cup games, e.g. Chelsea). Can't remember, and here's his post match interview from that Chelsea cup game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lcD8ViJL38
ScouseFox Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Must be a bit crap being a Burnley player. Hearing your manager tell the press that you lost because they havent spent the money to replace you. Not very encouraging. i too thought and said this on the first day of the season. i'd be livid if i was a fan, too. fúck listening to my manager constantly telling the whole world my team is shit, we've basically already been relegated and it's because all our players are cheap and shit compared to all the good players other teams have. and the reason we have no money or good players is because we're shitty little burnley. please feel sorry for me having to manage this bunch of melts, praise me as much as you can for us going up though, that was mainly me. but when we go down it's the shit players, fans, lack of money etcs fault, ok? but these burnley ****** are lapping it up. oddballs.
Babylon Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Yes, I realise that. But you were willing and ready to pay 2p in the pound until your new moneyman came along. Considering how much you were paying for the stadium, I doubt your then owners ever had serious plans to pay off the loans. What on earth are you talking about. The stadium debt had to be paid to be teachers if we ever wanted to play there, 2p in the pound has nothing to do with it. You think paying £1m+ each year in interest only and the debt not reducing is a good idea? It's been a stone around our neck since it was built and that only changed when the new owners came in. You clearly don't have a clue about what actually went on and probably got your info from the back of some shitty newspaper chucking ludicrous headlines about.
Kitchandro Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Not sure why this is kicking up so much of a fuss. Is it just because people don't expect Pearson to say these sort of things? We all know what he's said is true, and he's entitled to an opinion isn't he? That's what interviews are for. If Van Gaal said Man Utd were a better side than us after we beat them would anyone have been bothered? Of course they're the better side, we were just better on the day. It's similar with us and Burnley. Every stat you come across proves we're better - including league position, points difference last season, just common sense looking at our players etc. The only things I disagree with from Pearson's comments are a) they should have had a penalty and b) we were dominant and deserved to win. It was blatantly clear to me on Saturday that both sides played crap and both would have lost to a Premiership side playing well. Burnley can't even argue they deserved a point really, they were god awful - no quality whatsoever. They scored two crap goals (even Wallace admitted Schmeichel should have had his free kick covered) and we gave them a point. Neither side really deserved anything from the match but obviously someone has to have at least one point. Anyway, Dyche is a tosser and I'm not surprised if Pearson's comments were a come back to gravel throat's pathetic jibes last season when we proved we were better than them in every department.

Spot on Kitch, good post.Burnley and QPR are certs for relegation imo, just got to make sure we don't take tge remaining place
BlackburnClaret Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Love the new poor burnley meme Yes, me too, miles better than a debate between adults.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Can't remember, and here's his post match interview from that Chelsea cup game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lcD8ViJL38 See, this is a top bloke He admitted our defensive shortcomings, praised some of our effort, and rightfully praised Chelsea's quality and attack. All honest, absolutely no mention of the massive gulf in finances/spending of us. That's why Pearson is king
RoboFox Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 As has been said before, he said the things he said out of pure frustration. Both with dropping the two points late, and the Hoos connection. If anyone's seen the post-match press conference on the Foxes Player, it's pretty clear that Pearson is extremely agitated... He's very restless during the questions, fiddling about with his surroundings and is (more than usual) prickly with the journalists. I've watched most post-match interviews with him over the years (yeah, I need a hobby), and I can't say I've seen that side of him. Can't decide whether I like it or not... Anyway, back to the "my d**k's bigger than yours" posts... Mine certainly ain't much.

Raw Dykes Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Spot on Kitch, good post. Burnley and QPR are certs for relegation imo, just got to make sure we don't take tge remaining place It already looks more and more certain each match that QPR and Burnley won't survive. QPR look woeful at times- completely unmotivated and unfit - still just a bunch of individuals with no cohesion. Burnley have spirit and look like a team, but have little quality, and a worrying lack of goal threat. I'll be very surprised if either escape the drop.

If you combined the two, it might just create a team that could beat the drop. Burnley Park Rangers anyone?

A defeat to Palace and a draw against an injury hit (already poor) Burnley, I wouldn't be getting too cocky just yet. Posts like that have a habit of biting you on the arse.
fuchsntf Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 I hope Burnley stay up in15th.I like Burnley, they have a great History. Their fans come on this site, one can have an absorbing conversation, over politics, and finance. Dip into the surreal world of phsycoanalyse, and human-sociology.Tip into great art, like stadium architecture. WOW, it would be disconcerting if this high level of educated conversation and info sharing, would not be available to us next season.Universities in Leic' s and Lancs should be offering this thread up for Bachaelor and Doctor studies.

BlackburnClaret Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 we will stay up because even though we let it slip against Burnley we will still win more than you and qpr and a few others That's usually the best way. Glad you're so confident.

Corky Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 That's usually the best way. Glad you're so confident. You've said you'll stay up, so what's different? Surely you believe you'll beat more teams, maybe even us.

I honestly don't know what you think you're doing on here sometimes. Do you expect posters on here not to be pro-Leicester? Are you expecting people to suck up to Burnley? Are you trying to wind people up? You don't provide any kind of balanced view, any valuable insight, even any appreciable banter or discussion. It's just pointless veiled digs at Leicester, and roundabout ways of trying to convince us that Burnley are just as good a side if not better than ours (this was particularly irritating and even more stupid last season) and then you act like people are being irrational when they mow you down for it. Seriously, 200+ posts? You're obsessed mate. Just stop living in denial, change it to BlackburnFox and be done with it.

No doubt you could pick a few posts of mine that you'd find anti Leicester, but on the whole I've been fair. The last post for example advising that he may be getting a bit too cocky, take the fact I'm a burnley fan out of the equation and it could have been posted by many a fair-minded leicester fan. Of course I expect people on here to be pro Leicester, nor do I want to you to suck up to Burnley. As I'm sure you expect me to be pro Burnley.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 too much bickering in this thread and not nearly enough of chebs which we can all enjoy WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU LEMONS YOU MAKE LEMONADE
foxfanazer Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 Who gives a toss what Dyche or Burnley think of us. Mourinho seemed impressed with us
