I mean that they don't go back to 'all on' soon enough.

Since 2012 front-facing DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) are required by law, however, rear-facing ones are not. If your car does have DRLs fitted in the rear, they will be a red colour and work in conjunction with the front ones, which are white. You should still always switch on your regular headlights when there is reduced visibility.

I guess you mean drivers that don't switch all lights on in poor visibility. :dunno:

Hope this helps.

Speed restricted.

Taxi driver undertaking (speeding) in closed lanes.

I hate taxi drivers. This fcker is on my dashcam.

I always thought the cameras on smart motorways were always on, and so would pick this up anyway. But maybe they're not, because you'd expect the taxi driver to know if that was the case...

Between gantries (gantry still needs a camera on them when they go through)

Makes sense. So the question remains, will you or won't you?

They are the absolute worst for driving in the wrong lanes. Infuriating.

For someone who drives for a living, they really are terrible at it.

And don't get me started on the proper cvnts that drive round in black cabs in London.

I'm quite a chilled out person, but I genuinely wanted to headbutt about 3 of them last week as I was driving out of Fulham.

Loads are guilty of this because they are morons and because their dash is illuminated they forget they haven't actually put there lights on.

When they made Daytime running lights legal they should have just made all cars have to legally have auto lights as a permanent feature as well.

Agreed, I guess a solution would be for the car manufacturers to change a line of code so that the dash board only lights up when the full lights are turned on. Dark dash board = dark (rear) of car.

People not indicating that they're coming off a roundabout.

The amount of time I spend waiting to cross the road on my walk home from work because of this is so frustrating lol

Talking of roundabouts though, the amount of people that drive as if mini roundabouts aren't even there is quite scary!

I see so many people go straight over them without paying any attention, or slowing down to possibly give way.

Had a guy cut in front of me and another lane of traffic on a roundabout because he was in the wrong lane for the exit he wanted. So dangerous and no idea how there wasn't a collision.

Even more infuriating when he could have just gone around again.

None of you will need explaining the amount of ignorance, stupidity and wilful intransigence on show.

Majority of the traffic on the M1 is caused by poor lane discipline. Some people just do not have a clue.

Ditto the mini roundabout in Fosse Park next to McDonald's.  Do people not read road signs on the tarmac or next to the roundabout itself?  Clearly not.

I see many cars that are pre DRL's that have no lights on which suggests that the dash lights won't be on either and the driver just fails to realise.

On a similar note, drivers that drive in the dark on sidelights only.

Despite what the HC says:

"You are allowed to drive on your sidelights at night, but only if you're travelling on a well-lit road with a maximum speed limit of 30 mph."

I still feel it's ignorant, irresponsible and dangerous. Why not use headlights? It's not like you're going to get a bigger electricity bill FFS.

I was driving north on the M1 today between J21 and J21A. I was in lane 1 and could see I was approaching a car in front of me in the same lane. I couldn't move to lane 2 because of the volume of traffic. When got behind the car, I had to brake to 45 mph. There was nothing in front of him that would cause him to drive at that speed. He even applied brakes to allow traffic to join from the services slip road. That's how people get rear-ended.

Added to that, as he got within 30 metres of the 21A exit he then realised he didn't want to come off at that junction and proceeded to push into the N/B carriageway between 2 trucks.

All this in the pouring rain and hefty spray.

(Elderly) Idiot.

I nipped out in my car last night and got about 1 mile until I realised my lights weren't on 🤦‍♂️. My DRLs was on which I could see light reflecting from the car on front and my dash was fully lit up. And it wasn't until I felt a wee bit cold and tried to look for the climate controls on the centre console and they wasn't lit up, I was confused and thought the bulbs had blown. Then it dawned on me, my car went in for an mot recently and they obviously turned off the auto lights to manual 🤦‍♂️

This subject has always been a pet hate of mine like most of the stupidity I witness everyday on our roads. See I'm with everyone else, how can people not realise?? Surely you can't see your dash?? But on this one occasion I was one of these people.

Older cars, if you didn't have your lights on then nothing in the car will be illuminated and that especially made me wonder how can people not realise, but I have 2 screens (centre console and on dash in between speedo and rev counter) which illuminate no matter what time of day it is. It was only the buttons of all the auxiliary functions that was off.

So to my conclusion if you see someone without lights on at night then maybe they have just had an mot. If not they are just stupid.

Policing of the away coaches was pathetic.

Police had them in a single file line down the motorway, refused to allow anyone to overtake for first few miles, and then closed off the first junction just as the coaches got there and wondered why people were annoyed at them

I imagine they closed the junction at Sapcote or the A5 to ensure no coaches left the convoy in order to maintain control.

I drove up from Manchester to Glasgow this morning.

For about 60 miles up the M74 (up to the M73/M74 split) there was a guy in a large black Hummer-type chunky vehicle in the outside lane of three, then in the outside lane of two where it goes down to two.

He would not budge.

Now, it didn't bother me, I was in a little car, tootling along at about the same speed (80 odd, I mean, err 69mph  ) and I changed lanes and tried to keep left. He was pretty much within a few hundred yards of me all the way up.

But it clearly annoyed all the people driving up behind him, sitting on his bumper, flashing their lights, swerving in and out behind him, then undertaking him.

Poor driving, and, because of the reaction it provoked in others, a bit dangerous

People who drive around speed bumps like they are IEDs

Infuriates me.

Also drivers that accelerate between bumps then brake hard to go over them. Keep a steady 20mph and get the bumps between the wheels and it's no problem.

On a down-hill slope, it's difficult not to speed up between bumps. So then you need to brake fairly hard to go over them and to minimise the risk of long-term damage to the CV joints and their boots, and to avoid potential issues with the car's tracking. On front-wheel drive cars, these parts are particularly vulnerable to excessive wear and tear, and are extremely expensive to replace. Fortunately the speed humps near here are gradually becoming less humpy, because the road gets resurfaced every few years, and the workmen  just tarmac round the damn things.
