steveherbe Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 Where's everyone drinking for this??? Might need a few pints but I've got a funny feeling we'll nick a point here! City centre somewhere, I've tasked sol the wall to suggest one, watch this space.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 It's alright lads, got it sorted. Who's bringing the cardboard?
foxaholic Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 Best XI please. Anything less than a 5-0 defeat is respectable. Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Moore Konchesky Mahrez King Cambiasso Drinkwater Ulloa Nugent Weslowski was our best player on Saturday whats the point in comin in playin well and then etting dropped.
Soar Fox Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 Southampton have sold out for saturday, first time this season. Hope all us City fans there are 'hardcore'. Hopefully we have a loud away end with everyone in good voice on Saturday. Last 3 away games the atmosphere has not been very good imo.
steveherbe Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 Hopefully we have a loud away end with everyone in good voice on Saturday. Last 3 away games the atmosphere has not been very good imo. Lets make it happen then Walshy, down to us. No use us moaning afterwards that we were quiet. Win, lose or draw, lets make some noise.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 I'm gonna Old School MON here: 3-5-2! Hear me out... Schmeichel Was Wes Moore RDL Schlupp/Powell Cambiasso Marez James/Drinky/King Vardy Ulloa Now this solve a lot of the people's on here's complaints: RDL - is not good enough defensively, but he is damn quick at getting forward and can run his arse off. Central defensive 3 - All pretty good - Was = Taggs, Wes = Elliott, Moore = Sinclair Schlupp - no one knows whether he's a winger or a LB, with this he's both. (Again as with RDL he has the necessary pace/running for the role. (or Powell) Now we can have that 3 in midfield but still have width. Forwards... should get some service... I'd hope... The problem with 442 as I see it is we don't have the wingers, Mahrez doesn't have that ability to cross a ball... Also no-one knows our 'current' best midfield two, no combiation since ManU has worked. That's my 6 pence anyways... That is the exact team and formation I was thinking!
Bert Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Just had a read On their forum. One of the better away forums. Most of them seem respectful of us but honest, saying what the majority of us are all thinking on here. As clubs we have a lot of similarities too. Nice to see them doing so well.
Vardinhio Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Southampton 5 - 1 Leicester Morgan scores a header from a corner but we still get our asses whipped!
Dan Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Hopefully we have a loud away end with everyone in good voice on Saturday. Last 3 away games the atmosphere has not been very good imo. That's the most generous way of putting it. The last two in-particular were utterly dire away ends. Anyone know how many we've sold? Uuurgh why the hell do I get this sneaky feeling we might get something. It's as if I haven't watched the last five games ffs.
maxwelld_ Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 We can improve significantly and still lose this. These are on the same level as an Everton or Spurs at the minute for me. I just want to see at least a goal or a point. I don't know how much longer I can take travelling so many miles and seeing neither My team, as usual.. Schmeichel Simpson - Wasilewski - Morgan - Konchesky Albrighton - James - Drinkwater - Mahrez Vardy - UlloaMaybe harsh on RDL but I think he'd get absolutely terrorised by Tadic/Mane. Wasyl despite his elbow looked better for me than Moore has done. Cambiasso played well against WBA but simply doesn't fit in our most effective system (which is indisputably 4-4-2), Albrighton or Knockaert out wide but I want to see what Albrighton can do, Mahrez first name on the teamsheet, Vardy the second and Ulloa definitely comes in for Nugent, who simply isn't good enough. What pisses me off so much about this game is that it just feels like a complete write-off. I just feel like we've blown our decent chances. Those two other games later this month look absolutely vital. 2-0 loss. I just hate the fact we probably aren't going to get another point for three weeks. I'm genuinely sick of international breaks. They take the complete piss when you're in this league. Only reason wals looked ok was he fouled there forward every time he went for a header . Moore has played well and is the future for leicester and england at CB. RDL looks so average in This league and if we are going to play this diamond midfield with no width we need our RB and LB to play as wing backs but RDL and Koncheski are not able to do that Simpson has looked good when he comes on and I rate schlupp when he plays LB. Kasper Simpson Wes Moore Schlupp Cambiasso Mahrez. Drinkwater Albrighton Ulloa Vardy Cambiasso sitting to support the midfield , ulloa needs to play a deeper role to hold up play and Vardy up front on his own with no defensive duties to sit on the last and should and hit them on the break ! Danny will need to put a shift in and show us what he is made of !
benpicko Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Drinkwater's not been at his best but I'd still not drop him for Cambiasso
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 There is no way on earth we will play an orthodox 4-4-2. Pearson said after Swansea that playing against a side of that style we would get battered, and southampton play a similar brand of football. Kapsper RDL Wes Was Schlupp Hammond Mahrez James Powell Albrighton Ulloa. Snap your dick off for a point.
kingcarr21 Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 People are making it sound like were about to play Real Madrid. Yes they've had a great start to the season but lets not forget thats its Southampton and theres no reason why we cant go to St Marys and give them a good game and get the result. Fans are writing this game off before a balls been kicked. Our bad run will come to an end and so will there good run. Lets hope they both end at the weekend. Southampton 1-2 Leicester Tadic 14th minute Ulloa 43rd minute Powell 83rd minute COME ON YOU MIGHTY FOXESSSS
indierich06 Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 It'd be just like City to put in a top draw performance and pull a win out of the bag here.
Happy Fox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I hope to f**king God that we can win we need it badly!, another loss wouldn't be great for morale and would immensely put us under more pressure to get two wins at home to Sunderland and away to QPR.
Sir Fynwy Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Hopefully we have a loud away end with everyone in good voice on Saturday. Last 3 away games the atmosphere has not been very good imo. Stewarding at St Mary's has been really officious the last few times we've visited, they have removed people for standing very quickly. We haven't taken a lot of supporters their recently.
teblin Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Sort of game we have won in the past. Unexpected team on a great run we're on a poor one. I'm going 2-1 city.
Raj Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 i"d celebrate a decent dead ball routine at the moment!!!
ealingfox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Can we do the 'Lets pretend we've scored a goal' thing, and go properly mental? Looked class last time Spurs did it, will lighten the mood when we're 3-0 down on the hour, will pick up the whole away end and will be the closest thing to celebrating a goal we will be doing for a while.
Soup Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Stewarding at St Mary's has been really officious the last few times we've visited, they have removed people for standing very quickly. wagfox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I work with loads of Saints fans and they mabey on a high at the moment, but they are very cautious about playing us, they know all good runs are there to be stopped. The fact that Nugent likes scoring at Saints makes them surprised that many of us want him dropped. I reckon a 1 - 1 draw would be a good result, that's my head taking.........my heart says a 0 - 2 win would give me shouting rights at work. COYBs

I've mentioned in another thread that I wouldn't mind if Nugent plays this weekend. Purely because he will be bang up for it against Southampton being a former Pompey player. He's had quite abit of stick from their fans in the past too and we saw what happened last time he played there.
Raj Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Seriously the stewards can do one. There's not a cat in hells chance I'm sitting.you'll do what your told now shut it and sit down....(thumbs up!!!)
