Dan Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Pearson's words according to the Mirror; http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/saido-berahino-told-keep-mouth-4555196 Are we being serious here? Good defending?
Stadt Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 I think Pearson is feeling the pressure with some if his previous comments, he never would have said that last year.
Donut Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Ridiculous comment from Pearson, Berahino has every right to be aggrieved and this is something Was has to lose from his game and for good. How can you watch a guy get smashed in the face and call it good defending? Just dodge the question, do a Wenger and say you need to see a replay but condoning thuggery is pretty low.
StanSP Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 . Pearson man. What are you doing? “If I have a player who wants to run across me I’m going to put my arm up. “If he runs into it it’s his own tough luck. There's a gem there, though.
lgfualol Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Pretty sure if the same thing happened to Vardy Pearson wouldn't call it good.
Walshy5 Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Pearson always turns into an arrogant nob when we're on a bad run. He did the same when we hit that really bad patch the other year. Its like he struggles to cope and is very crap at hiding the pressure he is feeling.
ealingfox Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Berahino is quite clearly assaulting the ref in that photo so he should get a much harsher punishment.
ozleicester Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 “If I have a player who wants to run across me I’m going to put my arm up. “If he runs into it it’s his own tough luck.
Donut Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Im not enjoying the Pearson reverting to type regarding his media handling this season. It leaves a lot to be desired. Things started to go downhill from the comments made after the Burnley game. They werent justified and werent particularly professional. Is there anything to be gained from engaging in a public war of words with an opposing club? Maybe if youre a master of psychology like Mourinho. But straight after the game it just smacked of sour grapes. The general arrogance has appeared within interviews again. Typical comments made in a defensive tone, "not caring about what other people think" and looking to draw non existent conclusions to put down perfectly reasonable questions from reporters like Stringer on tactics, team selections etc. Seems unable to handle constructive inquisitions on why he decided to do things the way he did if it differs from the fans opinions that Stringer puts forward. This comment is just a howler. Borderline bringing the game into disrepute if he is happy with his players assaulting opponents on the pitch. Its just smacking of desperation and an extremely sour attitude.
Corky Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 He's wrong, it was an elbow, intentional and will probably be punished. No need for a go at their player.
ealingfox Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 Yeah anyone would think he doesn't want Wasyl to get banned. He used to be a CB, he's trying to rationalise it and put it in a footballing context. If it works and Wasyl escapes a ban it's well done Pearson as far as I'm concerned.
ADK Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 He needs to be careful or he could be banished to the touch line.
Dan Posted 2 November 2014 Author Posted 2 November 2014 Yeah anyone would think he doesn't want Wasyl to get banned. It he escapes a ban because of these comments then I worry for the greater good of football. It adds even more attention to an incident where we are without a doubt in the wrong.
GingerrrFox Posted 2 November 2014 Posted 2 November 2014 He put his arm out to block the run. He didn't deliberately elbow him, if he did the **** would still be in A+E.
DennisNedry Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Avoided MOTD because we lost and missed it at the game itself, has anybody actually got footage of the elbow?
Freesolo Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Even if he did what's Beriahino crying like a little bitch about it for?
Aus Fox Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Manager leaps to defence of his player shock horror! Looks like some of you are jumping on everything Pearson does at the minute. Any of you see Pearson play? This is the exact sort of comment I would expect from a tough tackling defender. Anything else would be hypecrytical.
Monk Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 It was the beautiful, elegant elbow that we had all been waiting for from Was. David Speedie and Steve Walsh sitting at home toasting to it.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 “If I have a player who wants to run across me I’m going to put my arm up. “If he runs into it it’s his own tough luck. This post is brilliant!
SystonFox Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 . Pearson man. What are you doing? There's a gem there, though. It's a tinder opener Stan
Lasty Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 I think it's a peach of a comment. If he condemned Wasyl then people would slate him for not sticking up for his own players. Can't have it both ways. He's just trying to protect his player and the club, and good on him for that.
Royston. Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Protect his player?????? why the fúck would Was need protecting? If he's going to do something like that he should be well aware it would become a talking point. IMO the only way Pearson can look a cúnt now is if one of our players falls victim to a similar incident in an up coming game and Pearson whines. Knowing us though its bound to happen and bound to cost us points.
