MooseBreath Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Mahrez coming off for Albrighton while also bringing Ulloa off and leaving Schlupp on the pitch was unbelievable. Schlupp scored a fluke goal but that wasthe only thing he did all match that wwasn't league two standard. Between him and Konch we're absolutely atrocious on the left and I'm amazed that Pearson doesn't see it. Wasyl needs to go too, Liam Moore is twice the player. Should have won, once again strange decisions from the manager ensure that we didn't.
MC Prussian Posted 29 November 2014 Author Posted 29 November 2014 Jumping on the bandwagon now I see... Which bandwagon? Did you make at least some money from one of your bets today?
lgfualol Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 You have seen us play under Pearson before this season right? What a completely ignorant thing to say. Much like your last point. What is ranting and raving going to achieve? Maybe he's just shocked that we lost that game and we're not getting and results. Criticise him by all means because he's not getting the results needed, but at least make it a valid point. Let me be annoyed and make no sense.
Sunbury Fox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Looks like we may end up with fewer points than we got under Adams! Really grates losing to that lot - but not as much as it does they we have rich owners and failed to bring in enough quality in the summer. Under Adams we were broke, this time we had a real chance to have a go and instead we stuck by Championship players. Drawing at home to teams in and around you and losing to them away means only one thing, I'm afraid. We're certs to be bottom at Xmas given the forthcoming fixtures.
The Guvnor Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 We started this season full of optimism hoping we could continue the momentum, but I think it's crystal now that there is a bigger class divide in the premiership than we thought. I am second guessing of course but I suspect there was a loyalty element to the current squad involved when deciding not to make wholesale change. Granted we had poor luck with Upson but the rest of the additions don't appear to have strengthened our squad at all Unfortunately there is no quick fix for with our current squad we lack any real quality everywhere and I can't see changing the manager as the answer, it may improve us for a few games as it usually does with a change of management but we are paying for our naeivity in the transfer market .Fingers crossed for the rest of the season but the table doesn't lie and teams at the bottom come Jan usually get relegated.
MC Prussian Posted 29 November 2014 Author Posted 29 November 2014 City fans are generally wankers aren't they? I guess there's some truth to it.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Funny thing is we weren't even shit today, it's just the culmination of results that is so frustrating. I said from the start of the season I don't think our players are good enough, and the last 2 games have proven that with us being the better side in both and only picking up 1 point.Nige can't really be blamed for Defenders and Goalkeeper not taking responsibility to deal with simple balls into the box, or for your attackers missing absolute sitters to put you out of sight. Only thing he can be blamed for is not investing in enough quality over the Summer, either through blind faith or by having his hands tied. Sacking him isn't the actions, despite what the reactionary nobs seems to suggest. Investment in January on quality and shifting out those who are clearly not good enough must be the priority, not just ripping it up and starting again.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Which bandwagon? Did you make at least some money from one of your bets today? ..turned it round eventually. I never thought I'd see the day you were 'negative'...
Kierzz Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 We deserve to be bottom, unless Pearson can somehow beat Liverpool and turn it round, bring in Pulis. The football we're playing, we deserve to be relegated at the end of the season. Also De Laet is the absolutely useless. He can't defend, so many conceded goals and chances come down his side. In attack he can't keep possession and when he does, he plays other players into trouble. Why didn't we strengthen his position with a player that can start! Or atleast give Simpson a chance. Also why the hell was Moore dropped. Bring him back in at CB or atleast RB.
ADK Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 When you look at it, we created far more chances than them and scored with two good strikes. They got 3 goals from goal mouth scrambles. Was there an element of bad fortune? We did invite pressure at times but had more than a few clear cut chances we didn't take. To leave with nothing is demoralising.
Spiritwalker Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 We are paying the price for not strengthening enough in the summer. We were promoted with a stronger squad than QPR, they invested more and now have a stronger squad than us. If someone told me we would play much of the PremierLeague season with Konch and Jeff down the left I would have thought it was a wind up.
RowlattsFox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Faith given to those that got us up but looks like they're not good enough. Can't say we didn't have a go but defensively so poor. Need more organisation and domination back there. I would stick with pearson and give him January to see what he does.
stevelcfc Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Jesus Christ, some people, think i'll give FT a miss for the week. People wanting NP out, just shows the lack of patience in football and life in general. Just look at what he is building, this season is a learning curve for everyone. If we were to go down, who would you want to take us back up? I bet Nige would be the top of most peoples list. Be realistic with your expectations, we were never going to set the league alight, survival was always the aim, are we cut adrift of that, no.

GingerrrFox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Nigel will get till Villa after that I think he's gone if nothing has changed. Said it before and I will say it again, he placed too much faith in too many players from the Championship. Paying for it now.

Have a look at the nearest defender for ALL 3 goals. He wears number 2.
Gary Eatfood Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 So disappointing. A game we should never have lost and on another day if Mahrez makes it 2-0 we probably win the game. Or if we had a goalkeeper that could actually anticipate danger and snuff it out when he should we win the game. Hamer in for Kasper on Tuesday please.
ADK Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Four points for me: 1. Those who were saying we were great and that QPR would be shite.. Have a look at yourselves. 2. Those who wanted that formation today..we've just conceded three goals 3. Those who said the Prem 'ain't all that'..have a look at yourselves. 4. Whatever style we play..we lack quality.. I simply don't think the players are good enough. I don't see how the formation contributed to our conceding 3 goals. All the goals were a result of crosses coming in and not being dealt with. How would a narrower formation have helped this?
reynard Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 I think it is pretty obvious we just don't have the required quality in just about every position. I'm reminded of the season we went up under Brian Little. We basically bought Mark Draper and went straight back down. I'm afraid I can't see anything much different this time round. The recruitment in the summer for whatever reason wasn't anywhere near good enough. Handing 4 year contracts to ordinary players basically doesn't make them hungry to maintain a decent level of play. We need to recruit 4 or 5 premiership quality players in January but with us likely to be bottom of the table at Christmas it is hard to see this happeneing. In the summer we recruited championship quality players and it shows.

(On a sidenote, did anyone else read that post with Darth Vader's voice in mind? )

Things look gloomy right now, but we never know what might be just round the corner. These pills are gooooood
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Chris wood to start on Tuesday. NO
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 I don't see how the formation contributed to our conceding 3 goals. All the goals were a result of crosses coming in and not being dealt with. How would a narrower formation have helped this? The game sounded completely open..every time either side went forward, they sounded like scoring. There was little control tactically. To be able to get crosses in, the opposition needs to be able to get into positions to do so..etc.. Too open.. Hence 3-2
