blue blood Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 As Morgan is banned will Was/Moore spark a shore up at the back? Kasper is running on 0% confidence at the moment and if Nigel sees this too its time to give Harmer a run. It will help Kasper build confidence and maybe Harmer/Moore/Was will be a change enough at the back to shore things up. I think we have goals in us as of late, so i am wondering if this defeat will force a roll of the dice. I do worry for Nigel if we do not turn things around after a re-jig as per above. 2 draws and 7 losses is painful, but the signs are there if we can dig a few results out.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 We dropped Moore because he was starting to drop clangers every game like Wes, so I'm not holding out much hope for a massive improvement.
broughtonblue Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Bloody hope so, Morgan and was are nowhere near good enough for this level. At least Liam has pace on his side
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Dropping Kasper will help build his confidence? Would love to know how that one works.
SMX11 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I am actually praying for Matt Upson to get fit. At least he is a reliable defender.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Bloody hope so, Morgan and was are nowhere near good enough for this level. At least Liam has pace on his side Think he's done really well since coming into the side.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I thought Upson was nearing full fitness? I think his experience might sure up the back. But you can have the best defense in the world, if you have a keeper with 0% confidence, your going to let in too many goals, as seen in recent weeks.... I think he just needs a hug off of his old man.
sylofox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 We dropped Moore because he was starting to drop clangers every game like Wes, so I'm not holding out much hope for a massive improvement. Wasa and Upson it is then
Crinklyfox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Last night felt like a watershed because of the lack of quality, despite the effort. I don't see that losing our captain will help. If anything it's pointed out that many of the squad won't make it at Premiership level, but we don't have the players to replace them yet.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Think he's done really well since coming into the side. Yeah... he single handedly resulted in about 6 Liverpool players needing treatment. That's some going! Wasa and Upson it is then Sometimes the most unlikely combinations work.
blue blood Posted 3 December 2014 Author Posted 3 December 2014 Dropping Kasper will help build his confidence? Would love to know how that one works. He wont build up his confidence playing, he will just dig a deeper hole to climb out of. That only leaves one alternative buddy.
kingcarr21 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He wont build up his confidence playing, he will just dig a deeper hole to climb out of. That only leaves one alternative buddy. Of course he will. If he goes and pulls off incredible saves that will surely build his confidence. Dropping him is in no way, shape or form going to help build confidence.
cc_star Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Wasyl has been bloody brilliant imo! Would like to see him & Upson at the back Moore was no different to Morgan... All last ditch tackles resulting in inevitable gifts to opposition, being stronger & better positioning/decision could change that? Waz & Upson for me Schmeichel isn't short on confidence, he's never commanded his area, always been poor on when to come or not it's just that the Championship hid it better, we don't need a shot-stopper who gifts one or two chances every game & is awful on setpieces, we need someone who rules their area whereas Schmeichel can't even rule his goal line. Of course he will. If he goes and pulls off incredible saves that will surely build his confidence. Dropping him is in no way, shape or form going to help build confidence. Jo Hart!
Leicester Lass Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Does anyone know if Wes gets a 3 game ban or just 1?
Callabinho Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Losing Wes could be what we need, weird things like this can turn form.
eddylcfc Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 De laet Morgan wasyl konch all way off prem standard. Moore has got a chance to make himself an established top flight player purely because of his age. Summer window was the time to buy a new defence. It wasn't long ago konch was heading to qpr so nige couldn't have rated him that highly get neglects to sign a new lb in the summer. I'm not sure how we can get out of this. Unless we sign at least two defenders in jan were down
st albans fox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 We are stuck. We either protect our back 4 with a defensive midfield set up and make a couple of chances in a game (which isn't enough for us to score ) or we set up more attacking and have a go. Either way, we don't seem to have enough quality to get results at this level resulting in a narrow defeat in a boring game or losing in a more exciting one! We might nick the odd win or draw but it won't be enough to save us. The shame is that we are only three or four players away from being able to survive and I suspect we have the finances to secure them if the board have the inclination to do so. I don't think the manager does.
filbertway Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 In terms of defence I wouldn't mind seeing 4 changes to the back 5. Hamer in for Kasper, Moore in for Wes, Simpson in for De Laet - Decent going forward but christ, the man has league 1 standard defensive abilities. Schlupples in for Konch - I'd have Albrighton and Mahrez on the wings, I feel Konchesky's days at this level are as good as done. We have hardly any attacking impetus down the left side as he can't get up and down. His defensive play isn't good enough to warrant conceding that attacking initiative.
filbertway Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Of course he will. If he goes and pulls off incredible saves that will surely build his confidence. Dropping him is in no way, shape or form going to help build confidence. Won't help him build his confidence, but it will take him out of the firing line and allow him to get his head together. It did Hart absolutely no harm when he was dropped for 4 or 5 games last season. It could just be a case that Kasper isn't good enough for this level to be fair. You have to be be confident dealing with crosses at any level, especially when your team will be under pressure most games. I've not seen anything of Hamer, so it's more a case of see how he fairs rather than I think he'd be an immediate improvement.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Moore and was is a untried partnership and you never know it could be great. Also is it just me who wants to see Knockaert in that number 10 role, we have never seen him there and I can see him moving to a club playing there and then being sold for ridiculous money...
shen Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Does anyone know if Wes gets a 3 game ban or just 1? Straight red = 3 games
Guest Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I'd like to see Hamer Simpson Moore Upson Schlupp given a run out at the back in the next match. A complete change might get others thinking.
Bugg Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Straight red = 3 games Professional foul straight reds are only 1 match.
