Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Today was the final straw for me, the bloke has officially lost the plot. He's arguing with fans, fighting with players, telling reporters he can look after himself, playing 5 at the back against a Villa side who can't score a goal - how can the players take this guy seriously? We were officially promoted early April, he had all summer to get us ready and the best he could produce is a reserve goal keeper, Marc Albrighton, an injury prone Matt Upson & Danny Simpson who had done nothing of note in a poor QPR side. Today live on the BBC, with a massive chance of progressing and eventually reaching Wembley he goes out and plays 5 at the back, with a goal keeper who has made a mistake every game since replacing Hamer who has done nothing wrong. Villa can't score a goal FFS! He has no tactics, no plan B, there was no passion - nothing. One substitution all game summed it up for me, i think he knows its over. What was our game plan today? Pass the ball along the back line all game lets have a replay? Other stupid decisions such as Andy King & Drinkwater in the centre of Midfield at United & a run of 4 centre midfielders in a diamond. Enough is enough
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Been on the fence untill today,he's not going to take us any further.....so OUT.I just despair at the whole situation 10 years to **** it up in one season
Monsell1976 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that competing is equivalent to winning. We have not done well enough to win against teams in and around us, Pearson has not hid from this fact. Maybe Pearson has been a bit too naïve regarding the capabilities of this squad, but we've hardly been outplayed in any of these bottom-half games. We could and maybe should have drawn at least half of the games that we have lost. West Brom home, Aston Villa away, QPR away, Palace home, Stoke home, Spurs home, Arsenal away. All games that you could argue we did not deserve to lose. This, to me, suggests we are competing. And to suggest that someone 'knows how to win', what a silly cliché that is. It implies that managers have the solution every time, and that it is just the players that get it wrong on the pitch. We've set up against most teams in a competitive fashion, and we have created chances/restricted opposition chances in sufficient amount to take more points from (at least) the seven games mentioned above. Competing is not sitting back waiting to let one in, we competed better when we press the ball, but we are quite happy sitting back against sides like villa, qpr and palace and the likes.Knowing how to win is learning how to take a lead and keep it, learning how to defend and attack set pieces, we have been shit a both under Pearson for as long as I can remember. Competing is going into games and fans and players believing we might get a win, but with the managers clueless tactics, the players and fans lose faith as soon as the whistle goes. Defend him all you like, the fact is he's ****ed up the season, doesn't know which formation he wants us to play, and barring a mini revival at Christmas time, cannot buy a win for long periods. If you are happy with a manager, with pearsons record this season, and his performance, good on you, because many of us are not
SecretPro Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I just despair at the whole situation 10 years to **** it up in one season This. Whatever you think of Pearson etc. 9 Points out of 60 in the prem and pissing an FA Cup quarter final place up the wall, would, at any other club, result in a change of manager.

Clearly can't cut it at this level
Strokes Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Not at this club We have to do 10000 prayers and worship at the feet of the bloke I will always thank him for last season but that was his pinnacle. Clearly can't cut it at this level We said that about holloway and the championship, you can have bad seasons at a particular level and not be finished at it. Redknapp took Southampton down and had a decent career after. Souness is another example. Pearson has struggled with the pressure but I don't think he is done at this level, either with or without us.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 ESPN just announced Pearson to sign a new 3 1/2 year contract on Monday. Press conference scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. More to follow
Robin JD Popley Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 (Said the following in the Pearson to Resign to thread too). Hate saying/writing the same things week in, week out but today he showed how his blind loyalty to Wes Morgan cost us. Why on earth did he bring off Wasyl and keep Wes on? Why did he only make one substitution all game? Why did he continue to play Mahrez when he clearly looked off the pace today? Although I like Schwarzer - Ben Hamer must feel like he has done something terrible to get dropped, as must Albrighton. I know some of you are going to say, 'He still hasn't took charge full time yet' etc but Sherwood today demonstrated why I think he is set to be a very good top flight manager. Went into their dressing room, gave his opinion and it soon changed. Our Manager on the other hand, constantly says we are not far away. If this is 'not far away' I dread to think what is acceptable in his book. Awful!
tickler28 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Fans were singing 'There's only one Nigel Pearson' before today's game so hes clearly loved by supporters....doubt that opinion has changed after 1 match to 'Sack Nigel Pearson'
LJS Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 In fairness, those sacking rumours weren't just made up. I can't imagine he has long left, defeat at Everton will probably do for him. Agree entirely. Anybody who thinks the story was made up by a journo desperate for a story is deluding themselves. He was obviously sacked but the club clearly couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. They won't sack him until relegation is confirmed at the earliest now, I don't think. They seem like proud chaps and sacking him just a couple of weeks after having done the same and changed their mind will open them up to all sorts of mockery.
LJS Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Fans were singing 'There's only one Nigel Pearson' before today's game so hes clearly loved by supporters....doubt that opinion has changed after 1 match to 'Sack Nigel Pearson' I heard people chanting 'Pearson Out' for the first time today. The man was booed loudly at the end of the game. He's done. He's working his notice is all.

If you are happy with a manager, with pearsons record this season, and his performance, good on you, because many of us are not Sitting deep is a pretty legitimate tactic, one which we ironically probably haven't used enough this season, hence me suggesting Pearson might have been a bit naïve about his squad's capabilities. You don't want to push too far forward against a team like Palace, with attacking players, when you have rather slow defenders in your team. We have lost games because we have tried to be positive in most games and not taken the chances, and our defense just isn't good enough to deal with it when we don't take them. If we stay deep, we won't concede as much but we will also struggle to create chances. You cannot have it both ways when you have the limited abilities that our squad has. I can accept criticism of set pieces, but I feel we have lacked a proper set piece taker. I thought Albrighton would be this set piece taker, or even Knockaert, but neither have really featured much. When defending set pieces... well, Morgan has been shown up to be a below standard captain and central defender, which has been a big disappointment this season. And just to point out, I am obviously not happy about our situation, but fans like you are getting so frustrated you're actually demanding something that is not realistic. I understand that he's under much more scrutiny this season and even more so in our current predicament, but it seems that every little thing that doesn't go our way is something Pearson could and should have prevented. Pearson doesn't change formation = He's stubborn and unwilling to adapt. Pearson changes players/formation = He doesn't know his team / he's clueless. The team are spurning chances and conceding goals = Pearson should tighten up the defense. The team are solid but struggle to create chances = Pearson should be more positive.
m4DD0gg Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Even the most pimple faced pearsonites with gareth bales haircuts and twitter accounts must surely see this clown has to go. My grandad could do a better job than Coco the fooking clown and he has been dead nearly 20 years. Almost 6000 leicester fans had to suffer through that bullshit today, really hope some voices are heard at the next home game.

Babylon Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I just despair at the whole situation 10 years to **** it up in one season Did you think relegation wasn't a possibility?I think too many people expected that we only had to get promoted and all the glory of the O'Neill years would come flooding back.
SecretPro Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Did you think relegation wasn't a possibility? I think too many people expected that we only had to get promoted and all the glory of the O'Neill years would come flooding back. I think we could have at least made a show of it.

Dont think anyone thought that, however what we are seeing week in week out is disgusting.
MC Prussian Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I think we could have at least made a show of it. We've made a show of it so far. Occasionally. If you seriously expected the first stint back in the Premier League in ten years with an unproven PL manager at the helm to continue where we left off in the Championship - where it took us three years to get it going under Pearson - then you were clearly expecting too much.
Fox92 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Line up I didn't agree with today. One up front at Arsenal, I get it, but away at Villa? Jeez. Poor Kramaric has got no chance on his own. Substitutions were strange today too, or lack of them. Schlupp needed to be taken off and Pearson didn't act upon that. It's strange because most games he makes one or two 60 minute subs and today - except for Ulloa - nothing. The performance was embarrassing today.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Pearson's theory of managerial tactics,.....Trial and error. Then error some more
Stevosevic Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Did you think relegation wasn't a possibility? I think too many people expected that we only had to get promoted and all the glory of the O'Neill years would come flooding back. Smaller clubs have been promoted and done far better.

Bore off Prussian Nobody is saying we were expecting to carry on where the championship left off. My apologies for wanting to see my team beat some dire teams such as Villa, Burnley, Palace...I was expecting better than 9 points from the last 60. I wasn't expecting Pearson to work miracles, but I was expecting him to learn from his early season mistakes and stop being a stubborn, tactically inept moron at times. FFS, passionless fans with their talk of 'we don't mind going down, we were expecting to be anchoring the bottom and picking up 9 points in 60'. You would defend 11 steaming turds laying on the pitch if Pearson was managing them. One track minded, boring and agressive. You are a lot like Pearson.
johnny the fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I would give him a 50 year contract, he can manage us after he is dead .
