ousefox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 God I hate Harry Kane Looks like one of the incredibles the ****
iamafox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 This is what happens when you're on a bad run, luck is never on your side.
chapero82 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I support Nigel but we are as good as down, whether people agree or not im not really bothered, call me pessimistic etc but we will all see come April/may no way we will win 10 games between now and then
Happy Fox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Lets hope the Sunderland and WBA survival effect comes via the Monks because that is the only way we are staying up!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Disappointing because we deserved so much more. Aside from the obvious of not taking our chances, for me the two main reasons we lost were: Amateur defending: the hallmark of our bad run. Pretty much the first event of the match, someone runs at our back four on the halfway line and no one steps out to meet him despite us having enough numbers back. Instead he's allowed to run thirty yards, spray it out to our left and then we're still beaten to it when the cross comes in. Intensity: Nugent was clearly in the team to drop deep and do a job on Stambouli and Bentaleb, to stop them building the play in the middle of the park, but he was also there to help Ulloa press the back four. In the first half at times the closing down wasn't with enough intensity (not saying that was the case all the time as there were a few times Nugent put himself about). Only when we stepped it up a level, and really came out flying in the second half, did we start to open them up. Spurs were awful at the back under pressure so we were crying out for Vardy. Things look bleak because we're giving it everything but just haven't got enough quality which is the fine margin. We need three or four quality additions in January and we need them walking through the door on Jan 1st. The remaining hope for me is that we've shown we can put a run of results together at this level. God knows it will have to be one hell of a run at this rate.

But we have only once been able to win back to back games. It is going to have to be one hell of a monumental run man!
StanSP Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I feel like we're so nearly there. Today was brilliant. Nothing to show for it in terms of points but one hell of a performance especially in the second half. How we didn't score more than one I do not know but it enforces the point we need a striker as good as Ulloa to get the ball in the back of the net (I know he hit the post with a sitter but he still scored). We also need goals from elsewhere on the pitch. More contribution in that area from other players. If we played like that against lesser opposition I think we would have come away with 3 points. Lucky for Spurs they have players like Eriksen to make a difference in a game, a significant difference no matter how it's done. We lack that game-changer in our ranks. We were so close to getting 3 points today. Gutting that we come away with none because the effort was there, the quality seemed to be there but the ruthlessness was not. Morgan & Ulloa guilty of missing the target at key points. Lloris keeping Schlupp out too. Hitting the woodwork twice. Just hope we play a similar game against Hull as we did second half today. The best performance since Utd probably. High intensity, attacking football, running at defenders and getting in good spaces to make opportunities for ourselves. More of the same please and let's not make it hard for ourselves from the 2nd minute to get the elusive win we need!
Dr The Singh Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Again, our downfall is our own doing, but I agree with most of what others have said. Today was the first time I actually believed in the team, and believed they could get something for a long time. If we play like that against dull, without the errors we may get a point!!
Robin JD Popley Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Positives Second half was the best we've played since Man Utd - hands down. Negatives Defending...again!
Dickov22 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Ian Stringer pissed me off after the game, saying Hamer had a mare for Eriksen's free kick. If the wall does it's job and stays together, that gets blocked at source. He had an absolute mare. Shocking goalkeeping, regardless of the utterly pathetic wall
GingerrrFox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 He had an absolute mare. Shocking goalkeeping, regardless of the utterly pathetic wall It's entirely the walls fault. It was absolutely appalling from them. They had 1 job, to stay next to each other and not let the ball go right through the middle of them. They failed, miserably. Terrible.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I thought the lads played particularly well second half. A great effort and we were close with the chances we had to get a draw or even win the game.

They had 1 job, to stay next to each other and not let the ball go right through the middle of them. They failed, miserably. Terrible. The ball goes OVER the goalkeeper. Its not like he's trusting the wall and is so far over he can't get to it. He should be saving that, and this will be highlighted on MOTD I'm certain of it. Crap wall, even worse goalkeeping.
ADK Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I wouldn't blame the wall, the shot took ages to arrive and I don't quite know how Hamer managed to not save it. Thought it was a better free kick than that at normal speed but that's a shocker. Typical. We can't go a game without one of our back 5 making a conference standard error.
ADK Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I'm not even convinced he was going for goal, I think the idea was for their man to run onto it and help it on but he slightly over hit the kick.
blueharmie Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Not only have we got a wank back four. Ee now have a wank keeper.
st albans fox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 No one noticed our best half of football co incited with DD and MJ in a midfield 2. (Just noticed a thread on the subject!) I don't like playing 2 v 3 in the middle and we gave away a lot of possession first half because of it but second, nugent or ulloa dropped a bit deeper, they changed their personnel mason came on) and we didn't look overrun any longer. Wonder if Nige noticed that our midfield two from last season looked a more comfortable pairing ? you cold use Hammond or EC behind them screening the back four and have one up front. I'd love to see us try that on Sunday.
Kitchandro Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Whether it's 'luck' or a lack of quality, not winning in 13 is indefensible. Losing like we did today is fine the odd time but we'll revert to our usual shit selves against Hull and put in no sort of display. At the very least when we put in a performance like today we need to get a result. Today is just another nail in the coffin.
glenelgfox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Just watched the replay and we were unlucky in all honesty and bottom clubs have seem to have no luck. Ulloa should have buried the header and we had 2 big claims for penalties that top clubs would get. The ref and assistsnt may be blindsided re the Ulloa shirt hold but how does the ref not give the Vardy shout - disgraceful. Apart from some sloppy defending and goalkeeping that gifts them 2 goals we looked the winners.

ScouseFox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 just watching motd. we looked very good. could've scored 4 or 5 just on the highlights. maybe even more. mahrez is a wizard. their second goal. chris weale peter whittingham cardiff play off all over again. nightmare.
orangecity23 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Replay 100% conclusive. Definitely a penalty on Vardy, awful decision by Swarbrick.
ScouseFox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 yeah should've been a pen. they're just about to ruin our defence for the 13th game in a row
Guest LCFC_World Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 STONE WALL penalty!! Can not believe this! We have been so unlucky!
