Four horse race for Lennon?

I'd be tempted to break the bank and offer for Lennon, Soldado and Paulinho! Stick 35-40 million on the table. They probably wouldn't fancy it but throw money at them n they would propell us up the league!

As for Lennon, abso freaking lutely!

You're in dreamland lol

Paulinho is so blatantly a Portuguese translation of 'average'.

I'm annoyed that I am allowing myself to dream about the flair potential of our squad with these new signings.

What do you mean potential? Who in the league has  :knockyhat:  and  :nuge: ?

I don't know what people see in Lennon, Spurs fans reckon he's not motivated anymore, happy to collect a fat wage and he's picked up too many injuries that he's lost a yard of pace.

He'll be playing for Bolton or Preston in a few years.

If we do get in defoe maybe that could be a great bargaining tool to get Lennon to join !

Who knows !!

Stupidity.

What a great signing he would be. Let's see who else Spurs want rid of.

Andros Townsend ??

I think we should try and sign dj cambell.

his frightening pace would tear this league up.

his great attitude work wonders with morale on the training ground.

The frightening thing is this actually does sound like a lot of people actually on this forum lol lol lol lol

Never really rated Lennon much. Has got speed to burn but don't think he offers much more. He has no end product

Dyer is a poor man's , poor man's Lennon.

Stick £10-12m on the table for huddlestone

God no.

He's been awful for ages. Not had a good game for Hull all season.

Spurs season ticket holder friend doesnt think he would be that good for us. His words were, these days he is good at defending, but he is so poor at attacking.

Doesnt really sound ideal, but Pearson would love him.

Why would we not just play Schlupp then?

An attacking Aaron Lennon at Spurs is poor but thats at their 'level' and aspirations (i.e. Europa League minimum) whereas an attacking Aaron Lennon at Leicester is likely to be a completely different kettle of fish. He is likely to be one our strongest wingers (excluding possibly Mahrez) and we are aiming to merely stay in the division. So his attacking ability is probably more than respectable for us.

If he's defensively good then great, as thats an area all of our wingers need to work on. But I agree that defensive aspect of his game could make his signing appeal to Pearson.

Opposing fan in "down-talking potential transfer targets in fear of losing own player" shocker.

Don't think it's like that at all, in fact you speak to 95% of Spurs fans and they would agree. A fair majority would be more than happy to see Lennon leave if we got good money for him. He's been a good player for us over the years, but he's not the player he once was. He really takes players on and does most of his good work going backwards. He's excellent at tracking back and helping out a full back, but he doesn't get beyond players and his goals/assists record is poor. As mentioned, he could well be rejuvenated with a move, and your lesser expectations might help him, but only time would tell.

Well, if we manage to help him rediscover his attacking flair, then we'd have quite the complete player at our hands. Great to hear he's been working on his defensive duties, too. Wingers are usually the least aware players tracking back (even strikers care more about retreating into the middle and winning second balls).

I hope we get Defoe and manage to use that to our own advantage, luring Lennon over in the process. I think those two could go a long way, rekindling their excellent Spurs relationship.

Yeah, he could be an excellent signing for you, but I couldn't be sure either way. He's really good defensively, never fails to track his runner and helped Walker considerably in his first few years. In fact, many think he will be best served as a wing back in the future.

Yeah, Lennon and Defoe are really good friends too so signing one could be an influence on the other. Either way, you'd get a few more well-wishes from our side of things if you had both, very well thought of.

Sorry to break it to you softarse but he is Brazilian. He is shite though, I would personally rather see Ben Pearson or James Weir given a chance over another overrated fancy foreigner on big money but can't cut it.
