That I’m a household name in scores of Leicester City-supporting homes across the city and the county for my awesome feats in a blue shirt, that young boys playing football in their back gardens today pretend to be me because I was such a City legend. The truth is, I’m not. I could have been, perhaps, if it wasn’t for occasional dips in form (never that much, if you’re asking me) and managers who should have known better but didn’t. I was at City for a while. I played football for other clubs, but I didn’t enjoy it there as much as I enjoyed it here. I saw good things and bad things at City. It was rarely boring. All this week in the new-look Leicester Mercury, I’ll be telling you some of those stories. The series starts in the paper today.
