MalarkyR Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I think I've got it.Ade "occasional dips in form" Akinbiyi.
Finnaldo Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I think I've got it. Ade "occasional dips in form" Akinbiyi. But he is a household name.... In how not to play football.
mugshot Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Jamie Lawrence... Nah Jamie loves Leicester, I spoke to him last February and he was really hoping we went up and only had positive things to say
Collymore Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Definitely someone who's retired. I'll go Keith Gillespie.
sambucapleasechief Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Neil Lewis.. We went around his house back in the day to buy some tickets of him and the place stunk of weed.
AKCJ Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 It's going to be someone completely guff because why else would they make it a secret? The merc would love a good column from a City legend, they wouldn't hide the author. It'll be someone like Elvis Hammond. Basically take your pick from 2004/2009.
Tielemans63 Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 My first thought was Stef Oakes too. I'm wondering if it maybe Julian Joachim - he was prone to the odd loss of form. But I've always doubted he could talk properly let alone write.
ADK Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Joachim is well known and got sold for a fat fee though.
Tuna Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Stuart Wilson, went on to play for Cambridge United, Nuneaton and Grantham.
Beliall Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I asked them the same question, but all they told me is that it was in the paper for now, but they may look at posting online later in the week for people who can't get the paper. thanks
ElusiveEd Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Gotta be Ian Marshall. If he's going to discuss drugs and booze it's gotta be someone from a 80's or 90's past. Can't imagine a drugs scandal in todays or pretty recent ultra professional times. (Marshall still works at LCFC in match-day hospitality and has a soccer academy with Matt Elliot) Great read about him here......... http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/25669/the-ex-files-ian-marshall
deejdeej Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 I was thinking along the lines of DJ/Wesolowski/Mattock......But Gillespie is a great shout!!Gillespie that won the title at Man Utd and was part of that exciting Newcastle team under Keegan? I doubt playing here was the happiest he'd been.
ealingfox Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Stefan Oakes is the best shout by miles so far. Local lad so would have appreciated playing for the Club, would still have local connections now hence doing work for the Merc, had his best time in the game with us, played under a few different managers, was in and out the side and in and out of form, and possibly could have been a big player for us if things had worked out as well as they could have done for him from the off. Granted he never really played that much but he won a trophy with us and was part of a top 8 side.
ronnup Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 My first thought was Stef Oakes too. I'm wondering if it maybe Julian Joachim - he was prone to the odd loss of form. But I've always doubted he could talk properly let alone write. JJ was possibly the thickest player we've ever had. No chance.
DeclanMC Posted 12 January 2015 Posted 12 January 2015 Doubt it'd be Ian Marshall, would you risk writing articles like that if you still had something to do with the club? Was thinking it could be Stephen Clemence, he was under Allen, Megson, Holloway, Pearson and had a bit about him. But he's probably got enough on at Hull to rule him out and he was out with injury most of the time. At least I know what I'll be doing at work tomorrow.
