FA CUP: 5th Rd - Away v Villa - BBC Sunday 12:30 - 6500 Allocation.

Recommended Posts

you will be given 6k, prob in 2 stages if you sellout the first block (normal away end 3k) you will then be given north stand upper (around 3k) don`t think you will get 6k all at once cos you only sold 1.8k last game i know high prices etc in league game so am not saying the 1.8k is wrong, its just how it works for next game if allocation wasnt sold in last game usually

last post from me so gl. would be good to see a different name on the cup instead of the usual sky 4 be it us or you

£41 two weeks before Christmas on Sky, 1,800 is a very good effort.

Make tickets worth while for both fans for this round hope Villa and Leicester see sense.

I went away to Villa this season on the train and wasn't charged either way on any journey. Just a heads up...

How did you get into Leicester station then if that's where you started your journey?

Or did you get on after at South Wigston or the like, as it's then possible to travel without seeing a conductor but don't they have ticket barriers at New Street?

Giving it big talk about 1,800 when 3/4 of the ****ing home stands were empty. Behave yourself.

I don't think he was giving it big talk at all. He seemed polite and friendly.

Even though ticketless travel is neither big nor clever, if you go through the car park entrance to Leicester station, you may be lucky enough to find one or both barriers open. Even if they're not, there's nothing stopping you from just getting a return to Syston or Narborough to reach the platforms.

CrossCountry are unbelievably lax, because it's not a penalty fare route, the guards don't generally give a toss. lol

i assume it's the cross country new street to leics train, and if so i'd be amazed if they check tickets. anytime the trains more than about 3/4s full they take one look and can't be arsed. when we used to play brum and it was full of their fans (and me), when we played west brom and villa this year, when it was packed with arsenal fans going to nuneaton to get to euston etc etc i've not had a ticket check. but if you're getting an earlier/emptier one you'll need a ticket.

Pretty much that. When you get to Leicester and it's full of football crowd it's a piece of piss to sneak through as well.

sometimes I reckon they're just lazy but sometimes trains are so full it's not worth the hassle of trying to get a ticket fella down the aisle. especially if it's full of pissed up fat old football fans lol. guessing they just assume most will be going to either end of the line which should encounter a barrier at the station but like you say there's ways round that if it's busy and the "barriers" at new street are just people and half the time there's nobody there.

I have honestly never once seen a barrier at New Street. Whether I just go out a different way to most I don't know but I have honestly not seen one ever, I'm always warned about it, but nothing.

There still aren't any proper barriers as far as I know. There never used to be anything but people were taking the piss so now there's little islands across the exits to the platforms with seats so inspectors can sit there and check people's tickets as they go out. But as Scouse says a lot of the time they aren't even manned and I doubt they get that diligent when there's a rush on.

Don't think there is a barrier. Just someone checking your ticket near the entrance, but if you've got loads of fans together, they will not be checking them

Doesn't look like the kind of distance you would want to walk!!!

I did walk it once, trying to catch the train back to Hinckley.

Man, did I sweat. Because of traffic congestion right after the final whistle (the area around Villa Park's a nightmare in that regard), buses were stuck.

So after a few minutes of foolish waiting at a stop, I started to run all the way back to the station. Took me about twenty minutes. lol
