kam6 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 First time with new topic, so please be gentle on me With women's football becoming stronger and female players looking better (technically and physically) do you guys Think that women would be allowed to play in the men's leagues any time soon There has been the introduction of female managers in our beloved sport, so could this be a thing of the future? Just a question, so let me know what you guys think?
Jaspa Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 One of my own all time favorite posts on the matter - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/77063-woof/#entry2025434 I'm guessing that when dolphins evolve into a more humanoid society and blend in, you will have no problems with male dolphins joining in with our sacred game. But when the female dolphins decide they should be given a chance, they should be pushed off to play sh***y water netball!Anyway, as our society continues to blend, I think women could switch the oven gloves for goalie ones.Sure I read somewhere recently, women will catch men up in Olympic sprint & running, so i dont see physicallity an issue in future years.
Nick Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Apparently Andy Murray's second serve was slower than both competitors in the womens final today. He sadly seemed to behave like a spoilt child though throughout his public dummy spitting outburst.
ozleicester Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I am surprised that there arent any women good enough to play in the "mens" leagues (even at conference level?). I wonder if there are and they are being prevented? Is it illegal for a female to play in the football league?
Aus Fox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Could you inagine the first time a female played in a professional league and caught an elbow or two footed tackle or something that happens in games up and down the country every day. The outcry would be huge and the poor played responsible would be made out to be the worlds worst person. For this reason alone I don't think it should ever happen in a contact sport. However we have seen female race car drivers, I see know reason why tennis, snooker, darts, golf etc couldn't be mixed gender if the players are good enough.
Webbo Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Seriously, have any of you watched women's football? It's crap. Political correctness is one thing but let's not pretend women are anywhere near good enough.
Stadt Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Even technically (generalisation) women aren't as good, there's a lot of unnecessary hoofs
kingcarr21 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Even technically (generalisation) women aren't as good, there's a lot of unnecessary hoofs i prefer the term camel toe
Donut Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Womens SPORT unless its a predominently womens sport like Netball is a considerable second best to the male equivalent. And womens football is nowhere near mens football in athleticism, physicality and technique. Not trying to be sexist, just the way it is.
Vacamion Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Always wondered why female darts are split from the male competition. Surely there is no advantage to be gained by physical strength? Likewise snooker. Golf, if it were only par 3 and 4, might allow competition on equal terms. Nothing doing with football, rugby, cricket (have you SEEN a woman throw?), athletics or, of course, boxing.

Women shouldnt be anywhere NEAR mens tour events, for a whole number of reasons too numerous to go into.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Always wondered why female darts are split from the male competition. Surely there is no advantage to be gained by physical strength? They aren't necessarily, Anastasia Dobromyslova played on the PDC circuit with the chaps, beat a few players too.
kam6 Posted 2 February 2015 Author Posted 2 February 2015 Thanks for the feedback! I personally don't want to see it happen, just gathering views. If i was playing against a female, I would think twice about going in for a two footed studs showing tackle!
leicsmac Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Apparently Andy Murray's second serve was slower than both competitors in the womens final today. He sadly seemed to behave like a spoilt child though throughout his public dummy spitting outburst. Yup, that's definitely the way it happened. I thought you weren't overly given to hyperbole, Swan. Got a point re the second serve, though. As for the point itself, sports that rely more on technique rather than physicality (like darts and snooker as has been said above) might consider it.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 We let 15/16 year olds go up against animals like Wasyl and Shawcross and don't bat an eye. If people got over there biologically programmed opinion that women are weak and need protecting there wouldn't be an issue. Completely different question if there good enough, though.
ADK Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I wouldn't mind if they were allowed to play in male teams but wouldn't want clubs being forced to make adaptations to accommodate them. I'd be surprised to see many women in professional teams though.
Captain... Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 It needs to start at an early age, a woman who has grown up playing football with boys will develop and adapt to the physicality of the game, whereas if they are only allowed to play with other girls they won't. There are probably some women out there who could get a game at a league two side, why would you when women's football is growing and the best women's teams like Arsenal Ladies will have access to much better facilities than if they were playing in League 2. What I would like to see is an aggregated league or cup competition where the men's and women's teams played and the aggregate score determined the outcome of the tie. That way it would promote the women's game on the back of the men's but without demeaning either.

Strokes Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Seriously, have any of you watched women's football? It's crap. Political correctness is one thing but let's not pretend women are anywhere near good enough. If they lift up their tops when they celebrate, I'm in favour. If not then no.
Aus Fox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Women shouldnt be anywhere NEAR mens tour events, for a whole number of reasons too numerous to go into. Reason 1: Tiger woods???
DB11 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 But if there is a slight bit of "gamesmanship" there would be claims of sexual harassment etc.
DennisNedry Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 It'll never happen, simply because women can never be as good as men at sports like football. It's just genetics.
