AKCJ Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 You actually think that was 523? Look how deep Schlupp and Mahrez were you can see it's four across midfield. Cambiasso and James played holding roles while the two wingers pushed on. My 7 week old Nephew could tell you that.
Corky Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Positives- Vardy showed great pace and determination, put over a difficult cross to defend. Very composed to not lash at the ball at goal, wait and play Cambiasso in. James and Cambiasso linked well today Nugent had a decent cameo and helped out defensively. Morgan was blocking well, Huth looks a good signing. We looked good going forward and neat on the ball. Negatives- Schlupp had two great chances and should've buried at least one Too many times we were caught out by the ball over the top Konchesky fell asleep a few times, Simpson not great again Mahrez didn't affect the game as he usually does Really soft first goal to give away Draw was probably fair but doesn't help our cause a huge amount. Enjoyed us on the ball, very concerned off it with the space afforded to the opposition.
Babylon Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Schlupp had 2 chances I can't remember any others at 0-0. I can't remember us cutting them open at 0-0, I can't remember Kramaric having a decent chance at 0-0. If we were making the most of our attack we would have created muchn more. Schlupp had three chances (2 first one second) Kamaric had one first half. All decent chances and a couple better than what Everton had created at that time.
Fox on the edge Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 That was fun and I enjoy watching a game through foxes talk.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I'm sorry, but I wish people like you would fvck off. We played well today, with very few weak spots. I watched most of yesterday's games, and I can tell you, we are miles better than QPR, Burnley, Villa, Sunderland, and Hull. We are going to stay up if we play like that all season. Difficult to disagree with that. Everton away remains a tough fixture. There's not a cat in hell's chance of them being sucked into a relegation battle. We have QPR, Sunderland, Burnley, West Brom and Hull still to play. Newcastle, Swansea and West Ham are three others who aren't exactly invincible on their travels either. The only games you can pretty confidently say we'll get little or nothing from are Chelsea, Spurs (perhaps), Southampton and Man City. I can see this being a record low year for the number of points required for survival. 32/33 may very well do it. It'll be tough, but the performance we put in today could win a lot of those games. If it goes down to the wire, with QPR at home, I think we'll stay up.
placidcasual Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 It was 5-4-1 and you know it was. What chance did Mahrez have? I can't remember it. I remember Schlupp had 2, and that was it. Two chances in an hour is poor. Kramaric was still dropping deep all the while instead of having service in the box. Yep. The difference being that Schlupp and Mahrez are midfielders. Whilst Nugent and Vardy are forwards. Completely different mentality.
Fox92 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Apologies, I should have made it easier for you to understand. Mahrez and Schlupp didn't take their chance to prove themselves. They were given starting positions but let the team down with poor performances (Mahrez in particular). It was absolutely not a 5-4-1. James and Cambiasso dropped deep while Mahrez, Schlupp and Kramaric were the attackers. Did you not see the first 55 minutes where Kramaric was basically chasing the ball around on his own? He was playing alone and didn't have any support and we weren't pressing as a team. When we pressed them we scored, two. Cambiasso and James played holding roles while the two wingers pushed on. My 7 week old Nephew could tell you that. Put him in charge then.
Devonfox1884 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 So frustrated. Easy to say in hindsight, but why wasn't Hammond on the bench instead of one of Drinky or king? That way we would have had one defensive and one balanced/attacking midfielder on the bench. Not blaming Kingy at all, he did nothing wrong, but you can't help but feel Hammond would've helped the defensive cause a lot more in the closing stages... But hey, a point closer to safety, hopefully it will stay that way after man city (being 4 points adrift) so as we can push on against teams like Hull and Burnley and get ourselves back into the mix.

You don't get extra point for playing well, we've played well a few times this year, most of the games we've played well in we havn't won. We need wins, not good performances! Stop deluding yourself, we have no killer instinct, we cannot win a game to save our lives.
theessexfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Who really cares whether the wingers were part of the 4 in the midfield or the 3 attackers, it's irrelevant
Guest Kopfkino Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Losing at home to West Brom, Palace and Stoke etc means you have to go to places like Everton sneak 3 points especially 2-1 up with 3 minutes to go. Take the point and hope we're in touch come the Hull game, lose that and it probably is curtains
LanguedocFox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Hate to be the one to break the bad news here -- we only have 12 games left and we have had chance to play like that (and get a point) for the past 26 games..... Very few weak spots?!?!?! Have you seen our left and right backs?!?!? Have you seen the support given to a 9 million quid striker?!?!? Do you know the GK is 42 years old?!?!?! Have you seen our ability to defend under pressure !?!?!?!? I would happily be SHITTER than the aforementioned teams if only we could swap points with them..... We drew 2-2 against a team that's in the Europa League. We did well - and we have 12 games left. that's 36 points to play for. Like I say, go and support Florist.

Should you really be posting on here if you find the act of disagreeing so difficult? 18 points from 26 games is all the evidence you should need. How many teams do you think are in the PL? 50? 60? Did we not already lose to that list of shit previously posted? YES we did.

SheffieldFox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Yeah because Everton weren't threatening at all until then. Not at all,but we were having a decent spell of play, where Cambiasso was pivotal, then we seemed to lose the creativity and fight without him.
Babylon Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Agree and I don't know how, with three centre halves in our team. They were coming into the gaps down the side, lord knows where Konch and Simpson were. Actually I do, they were a bit further forward passing the ball to an Everton player and causing us problems.
kingfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Went for 2-2 on the prediction thread, not an ideal result by any means but a point at Goodison Park is fairly decent. We were lucky though in my opinion, Lukaku could of easily had a hat-trick today. Defence were all over the place at times, Simpson & Konchesky dither on the ball too much and turn in dangerous positions. Upson showed today that he isn't good enough anymore. Midfield to attack was good at times though, credit to Vardy who changed the game in all fairness. James & Cambiasso were excellent when they were able to get on the ball. Fans will have a go, blame Pearson for his tactics, but he made the right changes and we took the lead, it's down to the defence today who were all over the place at times.
ScouseFox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Cambiasso gave the hands to Pearson to indicate he was flagging and needed to come off. glad someone else saw that, knew there'd be tons of people in here blaming nige for that decision costing us the game. esteban cambiasso was the best player on the pitch by miles, Huth was so solid (crew) it was great to see. Vardy and nuge turned the game somehow and we were unlucky not to win. everton were awful as I knew they would be as they have been all season, we had a blatant pen for handball too. hope everyone puttin their life savings on everton enjoys sleeping rough tonight. retards.

If it goes down to the wire, with QPR at home, I think we'll stay up. Unfortunately we seem to be perfectly capable of adapting our performances to within a goal of every opponent we play. The consistency just isn't there and that's why we'll get relegated. We might win a couple of games 1-0 against the sides around us but we'll lose more because we won't replicate performances of this level often enough. All season we've been putting in decent displays against the "bigger" clubs and weak ones against the strugglers.

Like I say, go and support Florist. Your immaturity has been revealed by the nonsensical argument you put forward. True supporters give a shit about the team winning. Telling a die hard fan of over 35 years to go and support the Florist in response to some critcism is sure fire way of declaring yourself to be a ********.
theessexfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Two draws to Everton this season is a decent return, it's games like Palace, West Brom and Burnley that are costing us.

Fvck off and support the Trees
EGBFitness Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Although it's good to come away with a point I think my overall feeling is frustration. We rode our luck abit with Lukaku throwing away lots of opportunities and not being able to hold the lead and take all 3 points. I think tactics was pretty much spot on and subs were good, like to see us be a lot more direct and speed up the play when attacking though. Don't think can really fault anyone's performance today, Mahrez and Schlupp didn't offer much and think Simpson should of done more with Naismiths goal. I genuinely think that Mahrez is fatigued, he played right up to start of ACON, through it and then straight back here after and played against Arsenal days later. My MOTM was Huth, solid at the back, cleaned everything up and organised the back line well

That "pen" was basically the same as Simpson's at Anfield and everybody was outraged about it. Both fall into the "harsh but seen them given" category - personally I'd give neither.
