DennisNedry Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Meh Not surprised or especially bothered now. I've come to terms with the outcome of this season If you're not bothered then perhaps this isn't the forum for you. Those 2 points dropped could be the difference come May.
les-tah Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I personally don't think mahrez and schlupp should play on either wings in the same 11... Both to direct and dribblers ... We need someone on one side who will get the ball and cross! Our last 3 goals have came from crosses in directly or directly either way it's an asset!!
foxfanazer Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I'll say it again...... The people moaning about the result, the selection and the formation are the same people who said we'd get nothing from the game and would lose by a few goals. You were wrong, get over it
DB11 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 If you're not bothered then perhaps this isn't the forum for you. Those 2 points dropped could be the difference come May. I don't come here to discuss LCFC anymore, I tend to post in Gen Chat and Computers & Gaming, so I think I'll stick around, thanks

Vacamion Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 A point against Everton at the start of the season and the optimists were dreaming of the top 10. A point against Everton today and people slag off most of the team. If we do end up going down, it won't be because of performances like that today.
Bayfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 disappointed having been in front. yet again the story of our season. the nearly men. today i think we got it spot on with the 541 but we need to play wasyl instead of captain morgan. and please get hammer back in goal nige. for those saying he got the sub of cambiasso wrong, yes maybe. but him and kramaric looked absolutely ****ed. sat on the m6 in traffic now. will be glad to get home safe tho after todays news. rip.
Gloria Lesterfan Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Vardy did more in ten minutes than Mahrez did in an hour. Why does Nige persist in playing Mahrez on the right when all he does is cut in on his left? Play Albrighton on the right, Mahrez on the left and Ulloa and Kramaric up front. It's madness paying 9 million for a goalscorer the putting him up front on his own with little support. He has already shown what a good finisher he is, give him the support and he can score the goals to keep us up, but not playing up front on his own!!

By the sounds of it the last couple of games for Mahrez as been poor.

Expectations change throughout the season, you can't compare the two games. If more posters seem negative, it's not because they are fickle (well some are), but because we're 4 points adrift. I think he's been overrated this season. His impact on most games is pretty minimal.
kingfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Wes getting slated again, Upson was more of the liability today, not Wesley.
ADK Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Wes was largely good and his calculated risk to win the ball led to our equaliser. Upson was pointless.
AyewJoking Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 At one point this weekend we were 8 points from 17th place, now were 4 points I think?? :nuge:
Claridge Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Morgan has come under a lot of criticism recently, but today he was fantastic. The number of blocks and interceptions he made, especially the one leading up to our first goal. Cambiasso was unbelievable today, the speediness of thought is unreal. Nugent and Vardy were excellent as well.He was ball watching for both goals
m4DD0gg Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Is it me or does Mahrez for all his running around and trickery offer fcuk all end product?
beepee1984 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 We played 5-4-1 for about 75-80 minutes of the match and we looked awful, conceded twice and if Lukaku had been on form that should have been 5 and created very little (Schlupp guilty of wasting what we did create). Kramaric was on his own up front and lacked support. In defence we could see 7 stationary Red Shirts not marking anyone, not really defending they were just there and has anyone told Schwarzer that a ball is trickling past him yet. I believe Hamer kept 4 clean sheets in his 9 matches and the others have kept 2 in 20. Why is Hamer not in goal? Schwarzer does not look the great goalkeeper he was when he was playing behind Pearson. I think Morgan is harshly treated on here and that the defence problems are more tactics based, 3 defenders picking up 1 attacker, but none of them seem to know who is meant to be doing it. For the 10-15 minutes we scrapped the 5-4-1 and attacked resulted in our 2 goals and we weren't threatened at the back, we actually looked a decent side. I still believe Pearson is the right man for the job, but I was fuming when he named the same 11 and same system that was so awful against Villa, if he fails to learn from his mistakes and we line up with a 5-4-1 for a 3rd game in a row and he keeps his mate in goal ahead of the better goalkeeper then I think it will be time to join the Pearson out campaign.
Corky Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 If we were in Sunderland's position it would be a much better point. It's not a terrible result, nor a dreadful performance, we just needed to win. However, only Chelsea of the top eight who've been to Goodison have won there and I could imagine they'll make it tough for the others. The team needed to put in a better display than last week's dirge and that happened. Unfortunately the most important thing wasn't achieved.
st albans fox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 . Unfortunately the most important thing wasn't achieved. It was - we didn't lose again can't people appreciate the difference between someone's granny dyeing whilst the game is in progress and a fan on their way to the match? By all means debate but perhaps tonight we can cut out the rubbish?

I wasn't being over the top about anything, just that I failed to add "from the match".

beepee1984 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Nuge and Vardy were clearly on the wings. The formation didn't change at all throughout the whole game. After we got are second, but from the moment the subs were brought on to the 2nd goal Kramaric was not alone in the box. We were playing with them further upfield than Mahrez and Schlupp and they were getting in the strikers positions, Nugent was central for the opener and Vardy was for the 2nd. Schlupp would hold his position rather than go past Kramaric causing us to have a very rigid wall of 5 then 4. After the subs were made we had an attacking trio with 2 forward and 1 holding back more like a 5-3-2
Silverdaz Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 At least we have a settled first eleven now

However saying all that the formation was exactly the same, but being 1 behind we needed to get back in the game and they made the difference being a little bit more direct than Mahrez and Schlupp.
yorksfox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 fair result after all those Lukaku misses! Our defence has definitely been our undoing this season, lack of quality across the Back 4, no exceptions though Huth looks an improvement on what we've had.
