Carl the Llama Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 So fvcking annoying. Â A bit more composure and we'd be back within 2 points of safety.
placidcasual Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Major problem I have - It doesn't matter what defensive system we play, we concede too many goals. 3, 4 or 5 at the back doesn't matter. Looked a lot better when we went more attacking. Looked scared as soon as we took the lead and just went deeper and deeper. Â Good point today but not enough.
Blanesta Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 It feels like a loss, 3 points would have been so good today! We just don't do ourselves any favours!
Witch Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Much improved once we got the subs on to support Kramaric. Upson is absolutely terrible Said the dude who was happy Wasyl was not in the line-up.
Babylon Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 But we weren't.Point being it's not like chances weren't there.
MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Schlupp's missed chances in the first 45 somehow balance out Lukaku's clangers in the second half. Â All in all, a fair result. But of course, with a late goal for the home team it does feel as if we did throw it away (even though we were lucky not to have conceded earlier).
Kitchandro Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 No we are not. Once we opened up after going 1-0 down Lukaku could have scored a hattrick. Â Yes but WE scored. Lukaku still had loads of chances when we tried to defend. The difference, the only difference, is that when WE attacked, WEÂ looked like scoring, and did. Â It's not all about what they do, WE need to make things happen and WE need to score goals. Â Why is this so hard for people to understand?
Tom's Pasta Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 The only criticism of Pearson today was his final sub. Surely taking a striker off and having an extra midfielder on at the end would have been more beneficial. More positives but not enough points
Les-TA-Jon Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 The reason 'rubbish' teams like burnley and villa have more points than us is because they've ground out more crappy draws than us. Yes we now need to potentially win 4 or 5 out of 12, but we also need to stop losing games
AKCJ Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Don't dare me do anything. I like Nigel, have the upmost respect for what he's done here, just don't agree with one up front. Â But when we went ahead we sat back and they scored again. Â Nugent and Vardy were like for like changes. Â Difference is they took their chances and Schlupp and Mahrez didn't. Â We played the same 5-2-3 all game. Â We're not good enough to play out a game like that. Easy enough to say "we should have kept attacking" but Everton were always going to go into Kitchen Sink mode.
dmayne7 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Fair result I think, they could've won it with the chances they had, agonisingly close but better. ??  The defending from Upson on the first goal is embarrassing
JonnyBoy Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Awful result. How can you not be gutted after that? People need to wake up and realise a point isn't a good enough result at this stage in the season, thrown 2 points away. It would have been absolutely massive if we had one
dayday Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Can't people accept that a goal doesn't have to be someone's fault? Little more could've been done for either I feel, though we weren't great defensively at times from some of the other chances they got. You need to watch the goals again
ozleicester Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 So much better than against Villa, disapointing that we can only get serious against bigger teams or when we go a goal down. Â I love Cambiaso
Ozwin Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Going forward we are fine, defensively we are lacking. Goals seem to always stem from the right side at the moment. We are not far off at all with performances like that, still think Kramaric is a terrific little player, never stops, helps the team in so many ways.
bovril Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Gutted really. A good result out of context, but not enough at the moment. I still think we look better with Nugent in the team.
Monsell1976 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 You're an idiot. Surely you can see it was defensive tactics that cost us? Surely you can see that when we did attack we looked the better side, yet were happy to concede possession for most of the match, including when we went in front, and just invited pressure which the defence is clearly not capable of withstanding? Been doing it all season, and I have said all season that we are not good enough to invite pressure and soak it up.
Max Power Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Decent performance but Everton were bad and there for the taking. A point would have been good in October but time is running out - need to make an impact
Jakemoore Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Well and truly gutted. Nigel Pearson got everything bang on today.
Babylon Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 'Tactically spot on' We were far better once we went for it and actually gave Kramaric some support We had to go for it, we were ridiculously open though when we did.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Have been an ever Pearson fan but his tactical decisions this season have been poor at key times. A draw wouldn't normally be a bad result but we need points. This is why we're going down, can't defend and see out key game. Taking off Cambiasso who was controlling everything was just stupid there can't be an argument with that. We were playing 532 at end of game ffs, why change it or bring off a striker in Krammy Decent display should have had more points  Cambiasso gave the hands to Pearson to indicate he was flagging and needed to come off.
Dickov22 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Nugent should play though. His movement is superb regardless of his lack of goals. Yet when through on goal he miscontrolled the ball, then laughed about it. Today we saw the best and very worst of David Nugent. The obvious one for me is we can't play Kramaric up top on his own. Needs help. Whether that's Nugent Vardy or Ulloa I really don't care. We don't need 3 centre halves. Upson was dreadful
Twitcher Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Great effort. Probably a fair result but unfortunately a point's not enough. More or less same side up to substitutions as Villa. Why were we so crap there? If we'd played like that we'd still be in the cup. One gripe is why we go so deep when we're ahead? Just play like we did when we were one down. Cambiasso excellent today.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 The only criticism of Pearson today was his final sub. Surely taking a striker off and having an extra midfielder on at the end would have been more beneficial. More positives but not enough points This. Certainly when taking off the man of the match. Really frustrating
