foxes_rule1978 Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 We need 10 points from 7 games... 35 will be enough this season
DMU Fox Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Just got back in. Absolutely fantastic performance. We were fairly awful in the first 20 minutes then got better and better as the game went on. We have so much pace in the team with Vardy, Schlupp, Albrighton, Mahrez and Nugent all running at defenders, they get shaky with what to do. The last couple of weeks (including Spurs) its almost as if it has finally clicked as to how to play in the PL, lets keep in=t going in the last few games, see where we can go. Also atmosphere in the away end was brilliant, kept up the support for 90 mins and really backed the team, it made a difference. Finally the scenes when we scored the last 2 goals was pure bedlam. We talk about games where our end has gone completely loopy, today is up there with the best of all of them. Bodies flying literally everywhere, and the noise was fantastic. Up the City!
1993fox Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Schlupp was much improved in the second half, he needs to be relieved of defensive duties, he just can't defend. Morgan for me, still looks shaky. I'm still buzzing though, it's hard to reflect a balanced view right now. I agree. He was causing havoc down their wing but he doesn't have the skill in defence at all.
shade Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Well we're winning in spite of Pearson's errors it has to be said. Set pieces nearly cost us again, as did playing Ulloa instead of Krama as he cost us a goal and missed a sitter (although yeh he did win one header all game out of about 100 aerial duels and it lead to the goal so Pearson is a genius). We're actually ok going forward when we throw the kitchen sink at it, but seem incapable of even trying to score away from home until we absolutely have to. We've given ourselves a chance but we have to win next week, against a better side, and we can't afford some of the mistakes we made today. Vardy has pulled it out of the fire today, well done to him, cos if he hadn't scored that I really do think it would have been over. Huth is our best centre back by far. Still lots of work to do, can we try working on corners for a week to start with? Nah probs not. If we're going to stay up it's going to be messy, we look embarrassingly incompetent at times, defensively mainly, and certain individuals who can't play football (Schlupp), but when we get it right we're good. I think there'll be a few more games like today which could have gone either way, we've got to just hope they go our way. Here's to Vardy, he's kept us breathing. mate, if you fućk like you complain, your missus is a lucky lady.
dedlock Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 At the end Esteban was dancing around like a man half his age. For a player with his pedigree to be excited as we fans says so much about the man.
bovril Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 As usual the moaning twats go slithering back into the wilderness when the team starts doing well. Pathetic. He's got it right for the last two games. Before that he'd got more wrong than right. I don't really get this 'fickle' business a lot of posters refer to. You're allowed to have a different opinion for specific matches depending on how we perform, surely?
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 At the end Esteban was dancing around like a man half his age. For a player with his pedigree to be excited as we fans says so much about the man. Got to agree with this. I bloody love his passion. However, again today I am convinced that we need that extra body in the middle. For me, I'd give James a rest. I thought he was well off the pace today..and bring King in.

Giving everything he has achieved, it is great to see, he is a special player and he certainly is giving his all for this club... great player I hope he stays
Babylon Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Just got back from the game. The game changed when Pearson took off Ulloa and brought in another midfielder. Suddenly we had an extra pair of legs in the middle, started to control the game more and looked more threatening. King did well when he came on, Albrighton was a menace and Vardy's winner sent us all into mayhem. First half was absolutely awful..but West Brom weren't at the races second half. We can still do this... Genuinely. The only bloody let down was Villa winning at Spurs. Great day today. The game changed when we went three at the back, long before Ulloa went off. King was excellent when he replaced James but Mahrez was fairly anonymous.

I don't really get this 'fickle' business a lot of posters refer to. You're allowed to have a different opinion for specific matches depending on how we perform, surely? I think the thing that grates me the most is the lack of any balance. I get pissed off as much as the next fan when we concede or lose, we're not perfect otherwise we wouldn't be bottom. But there are a hell of a lot of people on here who mouth off as soon as things look bad but then don't have an ounce of praise when things go well. Really makes me question what some people actually get out of watching football if they can't be positive and give praise when things go well.
Strokes Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Kings come back at the right time, looks as fresh as a daisy and brimming with confidence. He could well be a key part in keeping us in this league.

ramadaone Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Can someone please make me Mod for two hours with full banning rights? I have a match thread to visit. Always take a look at the match thread when I get back from a game to see who is disabled of the Day Really tough decision this week ...
Monsell1976 Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 As usual the moaning twats go slithering back into the wilderness when the team starts doing well. Pathetic.I have critical about pearson and his poor performance this season and have voiced that on here.Clearly we have had shit results most of the season, and bizarre tactics and behaviour from pearson, so the things said on the whole were warranted. So why the **** would people come on here when we have won two in a row, and slag the bloke off. Still don't think he should be here, but credit to him and his players for the two results. A long way to go to save the season, so if or when we don't do well again, shall we post where's all the pearson bum lickers gone, when they go missing when he wasn't defendable, not all pro pearson I will add, but a lot.
Benji Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Always take a look at the match thread when I get back from a game to see who is disabled of the Day Really tough decision this week ... A weekly side-poll, perhaps?
Guest ttfn Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 The game changed when we went three at the back, long before Ulloa went off. King was excellent when he replaced James but Mahrez was fairly anonymous. Agreed. Problem first half was two-fold really: 1) Schlupp is no full back and barely got into positions to utilise his pace. 2) Albrighton was being comfortably dealt with by Brunt because the ball was taking too long to reach him. Going to wing backs solved both of these issues at once. Schlupp was freed up to attack (and after a stinker of a first half I thought he was pretty good in the second) and the ball got to Albrighton earlier which meant he saw more of the ball as it's easier for the centre backs to find him with the first pass of a move at wing back than pushed up in a 4-2-3-1. As a rule I don't like 3 centre backs but it made a huge difference today. Great switch by Nige.
sylofox Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 People ), Interesting to take a look at the WBA view: - http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=16147.0 So, very pleasing how well we are managing a difficult situation, 6pts in 2 games is truly awesome. It's difficult (for everybody, fans, players etc, etc) when we've had such bad results, and constantly. Just shows what patience and belief can do. Seems player's/coaches' collective experiences growing too and the team unity/spirit might just get us over the line. Awesome! Let's hope for a few more wins and being in the Premier League next season too. Our owners need to strike while the iron is hot. They want pulis out and he will save us. lol
