WBA Post Match 2-3

That's my point Harry. You don't pay the ass-end of ten million for a striker who isn't 'the best option'. Not in my world anyway.

I've not seen Chelsea drop Costa for a Prem league game. Nor Liverpool leave out a fully fit Sturridge.

Swansea didn't bench Bony. West Ham usually played a fully fit Andy Carroll.

West Brom don't drop Idaye.

Etc....

It is a strange one.

And I can't believe Pearson is 'saving' Kram for anything? The time is nie. For your record striker anyway.

All those names are picked on ability - their fee has little to do with it e.g. contrast Kane with Soldado. Other examples - Mangala, Lamela, Ideye earlier in the season. If Sturridge turned shit he wouldn't be in the team. No question about it.

On the transfer fee - that might have been because we slightly overrated him or maybe he hasn't fullfilled his potential yet. Perhaps we felt we needed to gamble. Regardless, we cannot insist on a player starting every game because he's our record signing.

It's what you call a gamble.

It's not a gamble.

Leicester had been scouting Kramaric for two seasons. They paid a fair market price for him, signed a promising striker to a 3.5 year deal, and most likely have minimum transfer fee release clauses in that deal.

If City were going to pay that much for a striker, relative to other historical transfers the club has made, then at least they bought a striker that can help now and potentially for a few more years to come.

There are unknowns in any transfer deal, yes, but City didn't just throw shit against the wall just to see if it would stick.

It's also just plain petty for Col to question NP's personnel decisions in a game where, eventually at least, he got things right.

Thought the away end was pretty shit for the first 80 mins. WBA were loud throughout. Whoever chucked the flair into the home end is a **** as well.

No offence, but it really would be good if you could make these assertions after actually being at games.

A lot of us thought he should have started today, in place of Ulloa.

And it IS bewildering that Pearson should pay such a lot of money for a striker, then not play him. It implies that Nigel can't comsider his record signing good enough to warrant a place in a team who are still bottom of the division. If so, why pay what he did for him?

I know your glasses are unbelievably blue tinted but even you must see where some of the fans are coming from on this?

Or maybe not...

How the hell you can still moan when we win I don't know. Kramaric is a top player that we only know about due to the current management set up chasing and fighting to sign the lad. Since his signing he has had a positive influence without quite yet cementing a spot. Today we score 3 goals, win three points, out tactic Pulis and yet you still pick fault? Kramaric will hopefully become a star at City but the fact remains, we didn't need him today.

Playing our "record signing" through bad spells cost us dearly back in 2001/2, regardless of that chest. Kramaric is brill, but Pearson made the right shout with Mahrez today because his deeper role helped us control midfield alongside Kingy in a 3-5-2- with Kram, we'd have gone 4-3-3 and lost control of the centre of the park. Nigel was spot-on.

Kram will play against Swansea off the bench, which will be a completely different game.

Ok just seen their first goal, it was a goal and i'm happy to admit so, no arguements, but at the time I had no ****ing clue, didn't even seem to go near the line from the view I had.

I wasn't moaning being at the game when the winner went in I can tell you that. And I'm not moaning now. Im asking why we have paid a lot of money to not play a player. Most people have answered the question in an appropriate way. I might not agree with all, but they've considered it. Get off your soapbox lad.

Do the last couple of results show that we have been massively underachieving? it was a joy to watch us press a Team like we were the home team. Lets hope it continues

According to commentary the ref gave it AFTER the goal-line tech said yes. Bloody quickly if so!

Don't their watches vibrate if it's in, I saw him point to the centre circle and then hold his watch as if to tell one of our players it was in.

Their second was certainly out on the right before it got crossed, line o was on the centre line and squatting to try and see but couldn't see the ball as a player was in the way.

Never mind, we won and the Sunderland tickets were waiting for me when I got home, happy days.

Anyone know what the stand off with the stewards was after our first goal, obviously it was about the smoke bomb that someone let off, but like Hull away, stewards seem to pull fans and the fans stood their ground, one or two were walked out quite a bit later on but I'm sure the fans in numbers outnumbered the stewards below them, plod were no where to be seen.

You're the one with soapbox Laddie. A slightly shaky one at that. First there was Cambiasso-gate and now you're finding fault with an excellent 3 points. We have paid a lot of money to buy a striker who has contributed and will increase his contribution throughout the next few seasons hopefully. Just because he cost 9 million, doesn't by default make him a guaranteed starter. He'll come good and I prefer him to Ulloa personally but you can't argue with his omission today. Ulloa set up our 1st and was for once challenging for the 50/50 headers and was a nuisance. Imagine if you were a mufc fan, you'd be going spare about Falcao, despite the fact that they're winning without him.

Ulloa won the flick on for the goal. Which was crucial at the time.

Other than that (and of course that was important) he was pants. I can't recollect him winning anything much against their lumps at centre back.

I'd like to see Kram start against the Swans IF we start with three up front. Ulloa has been poor now for too long. The game turned when he went off.

No soapbox lad, opinion.

Apart from the first 5 games, Ulloa has been a real disappoint for me. I hope he has a strong finish now though and shows the signs of a quality player similar to when he arrived. He needs to seriously up his game to get in the team for the great run in.

The away end sounded great on the stream. Sounded like we really got behind the team and sucked the ball in (almost like Burnley against us).

we dominated possession!!! pretty sure that never happens (might be wrong who gives a fvck tony pulis has a massive head we are staying up)

Would be interested to see a second half percentage stat. Seemed to be more than 60% us.

Utter bollocks.

Ulloa gets far too much stick, sometimes the guy can only do so much, considering he has defenders jumping all over him most of the time.

His lay off for Nugent's goal was brilliant, he held the ball up well at times & made a nuisance of himself in and around the box. He maybe should of scored, but for that chance he brought the ball down ever do well.

Think taking him off didn't make much difference, considering his replacement in Mahrez hardly did anything again. The difference was down to formation, we looked more comfortable with a back three, while Schlupp & Albrighton were allowed to get forward more & caused problems.

Ulloa for me yet again did alright, he certainly wasn't pants.
