Haydos Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 He seems to have improved no end recently with his command in the air. His spell on the sidelines has done him good. He cost us a few goals in the first half of the season with his indecision. Since he's been back though, flawless so far, hope it continues. This is what I don't get about the criticism though, Schwarzer for example was at fault for 2 goals in his first 3 games. Hamer had a mare for that free kicks. Keepers make errors but Schmeichel is the only one of the 3 that will make those top level saves.
shen Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Only his distribution left him a bit down. He was absolutely brilliant today with three massive saves, one of which was simply world class...
The Horse's Mouth Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 really want to find that thread where people we suggesting Hamer was our best keeper
jmono84 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Only listened to radio but sounded like he put in a mom performance today!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 World class save from a potential Huth OG, great reaction keeper and great save. Arguably Motm today, not called upon loads but when he did he pulled out some cracking stops

I agree, I thought Schwarzer was an embaressment, everything from poor goalkeeping to taking 2 minutes to take a goal kick. Hamer from the free kick I still maintain it was the fault of the wall deciding not to be a wall and splitting and in general he looked very solid and did everything he had to do. Kasper is by far the best shot stopper at the club though, his lack of command in the air was my only concern. Since his lay off though he's shown a real desire to be more commanding in the air. Nothing but respect for that.
glenelgfox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 If we stay up this year, a new keeper is a must in my opinion. After today you couldn't replace him. Great performance and thinking back over his time with us (based on the games seen on TV plus highlights) has he had a better game taking into account the massive context of today's game?
SecretPro Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Kasper was rightly getting stick pre-injury but whatever he has been doing when he was out has made a massive difference because to be honest he looks a different player. Confident, comes off his line, commands his area well. Can't fault him at the minute.
Matt Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I've moaned plenty of times about the keeper situation but fair play to Schmeichel, i've accused him of his terrible starfish© (Trademark Kasper move) saves but he needed to make one of those today and was a great save. He's improved hugely since getting injured, perhaps when he got injured it gave him some thinking time and made him realised he needed to step up because I defy anyone to defend some of performances before injury - I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong all i'm asking for is some honesty - I've been honest and gave credit where credit it due - He was poor and I stated it, he's improved (Alot) and i've stated it.

But now it seems that the situation improves a lot.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Sounded like from BBC Radio Leicester that Schmeichel made some more key saves again today.
cc_star Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Good performance today, two great saves, one was amazing Morgan, Schmeichel & King were superb
Beliall Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 has to be said, hes been brilliant the last 2 games. seems being sat on the bench has got him fired up. some fantastic stops today, he earned us those 3 points, thats for sure
ithuriel Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Vast improvement from earlier in the season, almost like a different player.
David Hankey Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Anyone who says Kasper isn't our No.1 doesn't know a ruddy thing about goalkeeping. Absolutely fantastic again today.
Webbo Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Is that not right? That's what the commentator said today.
NewburyFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Brilliant performance today, some vital saves. I'll admit to thinking Hamer was our best keeper as Kasper was really struggling before his injury, but he's gone up a level since coming back. Superb.
shen Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Is that not right? That's what the commentator said today. The commentator said something along the lines of "Schmei-tchell", which admittedly I have never heard before, apart from when French-speaking people pronounce his name. It could be that everyone has been mispronouncing that name all these years (much like Danes refuse to change their pronunciation of "Wozniakki"), but I guess Was is the best person to ask
