MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 With Lady Luck so blatantly on Sunderland's side, I have an odd feeling we won't be allowed to win this, anyway. Call it premonition, call it superstition - but Sunderland's last two results have me pondering the advantage of hard work when you see how outside forces can lift a team out of the relegation zone. It all feels so unfair in a way. Then again, I can't see us being as poor as Everton were today.
Finnegan Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 That Sunderland forum Does every useless side in the north east think they're Real Madrid just because they've got a larger than average fanbase?
fazzyfox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 I hear that they've restructured the coaching set up there, Advocaat takes the first team, Seb Larsson will coach the reserves and Adam Johnson will take care of the kids.
sylofox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 If spurs beat Hull a draw will do for both of us. But Spurs don't do us favours so we need to beet these fvckers. We don't want to play a down QPR needing any thing to stay up.
SecretPro Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Hardly a shock when a few planks are acting like billy big bollocks on here. Jesus babs, someone upset you this eve? Some weird comments on here about walking it (with sky high confidence at the minute I can't really knock the sentiment though) but I'm pretty sure nobody thinks it will be an easy game. And as for you getting the arse because I said I hated Sunderland, isn't there a club that gets your goat? Sunderland are mine. Not sure why you feel the need to defend their poor fans who walk out because they have had to put up with some sh*t (I assume by shit you mean premier league football?)? Smoke some weed or **** something. You need to chill out.
Brooksy Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 The thought process of some Sunderland fans: Goes on opposition forum who have won 6 of the last 7. Expects them not to be confident. Expects them to be quaking in their boots at a trip to Sunderland. Expects them to be saying nice things about Sunderland. Realises the opposite. Leaves forum and goes on own forum. Complains about opposition's over confidence. Starts being over confident. Starts putting down opposition team. Honestly don't know what other teams expect when they come on this forum. For the record. I don't rate Sunderland whatsoever but like any team in this league they have players capable of causing us a lot of problems. That better Mackems?? Reminds me of the Bournemouth fans last season who were saying similar things when we were predicting 3 points after about 23 consecutive wins
MooseBreath Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 That Sunderland forum Does every useless side in the north east think they're Real Madrid just because they've got a larger than average fanbase? No, it's because they've won the league six times you fool, as recently as 79 years ago no less. They won the FA cup in 1973 and before that again in 1937. Those are the last two trophies they've won. So, one trophy in the last 77 years. If that's not footballing pedigree then I don't know what is.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 They've absolutely chanced their way to two wins recently, but even if they chance a win against us I think we'll be fine. We'll beat QPR, and even if we don't I don't think Hull will get 4 points or better our goal difference between now and the end of the season.
Kitchandro Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I really hate other teams fans. I can't even bring myself to read their forums anymore.
fuchsntf Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/the-leicester-lads-are-confident.1075054/page-1 5Appears we have upset them lol just dont understand some of our fans always badmouthing the opposition.I agree with some of their fans comments, both Newcastle and Sunderland are bigger clubs than ours, simply on their fanbase. Their history way over ours, they really should never be out of the PL top 12, but they seem to find for their so called status, poor management candidates over long Periods. We are just happy to sit in, and follow in their slipstreams it seems, unfortunately they still live in the past, just like Liverpool. They are stuck in a time warp, days of gone where opposition held them in awe. Shame our little ol weaney club, will take more points from Wearside,2 weeks after seeing off their Neighbours from Tyneside. We of the Soarside apologise immensely for upsetting such that greatness of long winded traditions. Mind you we have something in common, we like a bloody good moan.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Let's be honest fuch, Sunderland are shit and have been for a while now, their fans are deluded. Fvck 'em.
Dan Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 A draw would about see us there for me, but for god sake do not play for it. Go for all three. We are better than these. I think we'll win 0-1 with a late goal. Memorable day incoming.
Mark_from_USA Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Number one... It's a one off game between two sides who are confident at present, and who need to win. Number two..see number one. Who would have predicted City winning 6 of the last 7 games? In the same way, the Sunderland game cannot be predicted. It will be won by the team who wants it more on the day. I guarantee you Burnley wanted to win every match they played this season, on the day they played each one. And they just went down. Why would that be? Perhaps quality of their side? Perhaps luck? Perhaps the performance of their opponents on the day? If I take this viewpoint, desire is the only deciding factor. It is a huge factor, but far from the major decisive factor you suggest it is. Of course a game can be predicted. It does not mean it will go as the majority of predictions say it will. Luck, injuries, nerves, refereeing, they all play a part. Sunderland need to win this match more than we do, given the possible relegation scenarios that remain. That's not an opinion, it's a statistical fact.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Yeah but I think his point is we're reasonably closely matched (even though we're clearly much better), so whoever wants this game more will win this game, which isn't just a saying for the sake of it, we're talking last ditch tackles, winning second balls, persistence and the ability to over come potential adversity. An under 10's team could want to beat Barcelona more than vise versa but it won't make a jot of difference but there are certain games where it really is as simple as the team who wants it more gets the points.
Raw Dykes Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Just an awful nondescript club stinking out the Premier League year in year out. A small club trying to be a big club and failing miserably. Perhaps they'll come disguised as red seats again as they do every other home match apart from Newcastle. Time to show these parasites whose boss. Awful, awful club. Oi! This isn't right. Seriously. How could you? How could you call these seats red?
Raw Dykes Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Will be interesting to see what tactics Nigel adopts. I personally hope we don't change a thing and play as if it was a home game, up and at them from the off. Sunderland will be desperate to win this having to play Chelsea and Arsenal away for their last two games has to be the hardest run in from any of the relegation candidates. Agreed. Last away match was Burnley, and we were far from convincing. I think our best chance of winning would be to just carry on as we have been at home - quick out the blocks and hope that we're in the lead before we run out of steam. A draw would be a good result, I think.
Gerard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 It's fascinating, like getting a glimpse to the inner workings of another species. Not sure what that Bluefox poster is up to, apologising for our "idiots" and sucking up to them. That knuckledraggers comment on page 7 though, pure gold and understatement of the century. Agreed, Blue Fox is particularly cringe worthy. Embarrassing himself just so he can be liked and accepted as they pat his head like you would a dog.
EnglishOxide Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I fear that their last couple of wins, despite the luck involved against Everton will be a spark that Advocaat can take advantage of and he will breathe some life and energy into them. An early goal and a fast start from us could be the key for us to knock the wind out of their sales and not give them a chance to get started. If we don't take the lead in the first 20 then it will be a tight game resulting in a draw as both teams might get cagey knowing that there might not be a need to risk going for the win.
gregsy Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 How they are quoting our late goals we be scored in games recently, like it's " lucky"! They don't mention the very early goals,!!fair play to them, 2 wins on spin, ,2 pens v ten man saints ,then, hanging on for dear life against them at end, camped on edge there own box,!and at Everton earlier ,where do u start!the stonewall pen on Coleman!!rugby tackle by fletcher on stones ,followed by going in off Defoe's hand!!!we d been 40 pts ages ago, with some that fortune!!we got 6 pts from 2 games also, but playing with a desire, and confidence the ability to manage the games ,too see them out!!!i a draw mite satisfy them ,if word is hull,Newcastle struggling, but they know for a fact that over the 90 mins ,there are going to be occasions ,when the fear factor and doubt creeps in ,especially at stadium of light, weather they are winning drawing ,or losing,!!where as we have been putting the fear off god into sides!!!may the best team win!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 This will be the toughest game of our run in Sunderland with their tails up at home Come on Leicester!!!! Up the Foxes!!!!!
st albans fox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 If it's tight, I suspect events at WHL will come into the equation. if dull are losing, then a point for us is good enough whilst a win for them sees them safe. tbh, I heard advocaat say he thinks a point more will do them. Given the chances that they will ship some goals in their last two games, I am surprised he thinks 37 is enough. if his view doesn't change during the week, they might revert more to their 'safety first' attitude instilled under poyet. that would suit us, given our pace although tbh, if we 'turn up', we should get a result anyway.
foxfanazer Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Hate how disrespectful some of us are to other clubs yet when anyone dares to criticise us they are dicks. Grow up people! This isn't going to be a walk over and we'll have to play how we have been
Nalis Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Hate how disrespectful some of us are to other clubs yet when anyone dares to criticise us they are dicks. Grow up people! My thoughts exactly, don't dish it if you cant take it is my motto.
