Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Could we make this a poll? It would be interesting to see how many of us are against fox hunting and how many are barbaric sadists.

Guest Kopfkino Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 They're not voting for a repeal of the ban they're voting on how many dogs can be used to bring it in line with Scotland
SecretPro Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 They're not voting for a repeal of the ban they're voting on how many dogs can be used to bring it in line with Scotland You are right. However, the damage done by the amendment may as well be a full repeal. The amount of 'accidental' hound kills in Scotland is, well, high to say the least. Nobody is out their governing. It's no easy task to call off a pack of 40 hounds once theyve had a sniff of foxy.
purpleronnie Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 They're not voting for a repeal of the ban they're voting on how many dogs can be used to bring it in line with Scotland Well the public opinion is overwhelmingly against any relaxation so lets hope he loses amendment. And it's not just bringing it line with scotland (which doesn't make it right anyway), it will also allow full packs of hounds to be used for “research and observation”
Strokes Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Not really that bothered if it stays banned or not. I'd be quite interested to go on a hunt one day if the opportunity came about.
Wymsey Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 If they're killing Farmer's chickens, sheep etc, I'm all for it - they're a threat for Farmers in terms of them losing money/productivity. However, it's like dealing mice and rats; pain in the backsides to tempt people to kill them, but their levels can't be controlled and just have to live with it.

I thought you'd be especially worried about this amendment.

My issue isn't really with the control of the fox population. It's with the inhumane way that fox hunting does it.

ScouseFox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 dont see why so many people are so outraged by it. only foxes ffs. if we weren't called the foxes i think i'd hate foxes more than these dogs for no reason
Stadt Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Yeah I'm not really fussed,I certainly wouldn't encourage it but I have no feelings about it
leicsmac Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 You want to control the fox population because they're hunting chickens and game, use guns when they come on your land. You want to keep horses and hounds in work and 'stimulate the local economy', do simulated hunts with scents. There's no reason for fox hunting using horses and hounds in this day and age.

What if the person shooting the fox enjoys it?
Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 What if the person shooting the fox enjoys it? Then if he is a trained professional and a good shot then at least that individual animal hasn't suffered from getting its face torn off by a fvcking dog.

Killing foxes when they are threatening livestock, I have no problem with. But the kill (the whole act of it) should be as instantaneous and painless as possible.
Guest MattP Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 They're not voting for a repeal of the ban they're voting on how many dogs can be used to bring it in line with Scotland This. Also going to be interesting to see what the SNP do, will they stick to their word and not get involved on an England only matter? I'd be astonished if they didn't use this to cause some more division between the countries.
deejdeej Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Anyone that condones fox hunting can **** off and die for all I care.

Guest MattP Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Well they've announced they will vote, they'll come up with some bullshit about how it affects Scotland Could be a classic this one.
Vacamion Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 It's pure mischief by the SNP, designed to foster grievance and bring forward the one thing they claim to not want, EVEL. If EVEL comes in, they can moan in their own constituencies that they are 2nd class representatives. So, in furtherance of this cause, they are welching on their commitment to not vote in England/Wales only matters which don't affect Scotland fiscally. They don't give a flying one about foxes. Sneaky Machiavellian barstewards (the SNP, not the foxes).

That sounds pretty much spot on, you would think if they are that committed to animal welfare they would actually be tightening the laws in their own country wouldn't you? Their supporters will fall for it mind, it's what they do.
