Jeff Schlupp

Along with Cambiasso, Schlupp is probably the only player who played to a good standard for the entire season and that is commendable for a player of his age.

Agree with the rest of your post but you can add Wasilewski to that list. He's been solid enough since he came in. He was unlucky to dropped for Upson when he got fit, and promptly cast away any doubt about him not deserving a starting place after Upson's 1001st injury this season.

Wasilewski wasn't a regular for the whole season either.

Doesn't matter, he was consistent every time he played. Which is more than can be said for everyone else, like you say, bar Cambiasso and Schlupp.

Agree but means he falls outside of the point I was making.

Schlupp was consistent.

Schmeichel was garbage before he got injured, Morgan was a bombscare for a lot of the season, Vardy exploded into form in the run in but was pretty indifferent prior to that, Albrighton wasn't fit to play for 3/4 of the season, Huth was only here from January. Along with Cambiasso, Schlupp is probably the only player who played to a good standard for the entire season and that is commendable for a player of his age.

This is totally revisionist. Even his staunchest defenders weren't saying he was playing to a "good standard" back in October and November - there were a lot of "he's trying his best" comments in light of repeatedly clueless performances on the wing.

If we're signing players then it's likely we're going to sell players too. Not saying it'll be Jeff or Vardy or whoever but eventually players will leave.

Villa interested in Schlupp now according to The Sun,so that's Vardy and now they fancy,Jeff, next week it will probably be Mahrez

I'm sure they have a higher pay scale than we do. If they make an offer and the contract is more than a few quid better, a player would be thinking very hard about a move. No need to uproot the family. Remember, playing for us is their job, not their passion. Jeff might be a tad different , having come up through the ranks. Riyad - I bet he wouldn't think too hard. (Especially as he is probably on a fairly low deal here. If we want him to stay, we should be offering him improved terms now and not waiting until next summer as would normally be the case on his contract length).

not being funny but how can anyone write off mahrez or vardy from a list of standout players from last season because they had a few off key months, yet say schlupp is up there?! he didn't have a few off key months, he had about 6 months of utter horse shit.

he was amazing for the other 20% of the season tbf.

Your favourtie player was no better for at least 4 months.

Perhaps other people have a different view about Schlupp.

We've seen it everywhere, some of us think he was and is fantastic and a difference maker others think he's rubbish.

IMO Speed kills in the Prem and that's where Vardy and Schlupp have it over most other players.

Slow players need vision, anticipation and positioning to help make up for their lack of speed.

Regarding Schlupp ... Anyone else remember Man City away in the final minute of extra time in the first half ?.. 0-0 decided to take on Toure instead of kicking to row ZZZ and lo and behold gets robbed ..... Silva 1-0. The boy has come on leaps and bounds considering he couldn't get into last years team. Let's keep him ... Develop his wingback talents ... Huge POTENTIAL

I watched MOTD highlights for every leicester game since the run in. Since the win against west ham. All the games schluup took part in he has been instumental. Knocking past it past players on the wing and driving forward... if you calling schluup shite, go back and watch the run in again. Schluup and albrighton have both been massive for us.

Schlupp to Villa?! Hilarious.

It's as though Sherwood actually believes Villa are a big club and not a club about to drop off the face of the earth. Preston were big once.

With respect - the highlights simply didn't show the dross in terms of giving the ball away and poor final third delivery which we saw a lot over the season. When he's on form though he's close to unplayable. The problem is consistency.

Can't see Schlupp or Vardy going anywhere, thankfully nobody is going to pay enough for us to sell. 5m was one of the prices I saw online for schlupp in today's market and with him being homegrown that's just laughable. Jan maybe different if Vardy does his second season, right I'm used to this league now im going to destroy any defender put in front of me thing. Even then it would have to be a huge offer as we don't need to sell anyone.

Just read this on the Sky Sports website. Thoughts?

GUNNERS IN SHOCK SCHLUPP BID

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a surprise £5million move forLeicester City’s full-back Jeffrey Schlupp, according to the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old played a key role in Leicester’s battle against relegation, earning the club’s Young Player of the Year award as well as the Player’s Player of the Year.

His display for the Foxes have reportedly attracted the attention of Arsene Wenger, who is understood be preparing bid.

If they're interested they will probably get him, but there is no way we should accept the fee. I maintain we should not sell, but not many players can turn down such an opportunity.

My worry is that he wouldn't get first team play over there. However with the signing of Fuchs I think he will struggle here too unless we move him into midfield. Hopefully we'll ask for a bit more if he is to go.
