40,000 could easily be filled IMO.

If the club ambitions stretch further than just being happy to be in the Premier League then we need a bigger ground and attendances for status as much as anything else.

The big six all have or will soon have 55,000+ stadiums. Then there are clubs like West Ham, Everton and Newcastle who all have or will soon have 50,000+ stadiums. Even in the Championship Sunderland, Villa, Wednesday and Leeds have 40,000+ stadiums.

I could understand it if we weren't selling out but we've virtually sold out every league game for the last three seasons. Considering the price is relatively small to build when you consider it will last a lifetime and all for the cost of a Slimani or a Musa/Mendy. We're marketing ourselves as a small club punching above it's weight when 13 other clubs have 40,000+ stadiums. We're making a statement that our true level is that of a Stoke, West Brom, Derby, Forest, Sheff United, etc.

Superb post and I agree entirely

please get this done Vichai we need it

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (delete as appropriate if so) but surely the easiest thing to do for now would be to bring the away allocation down to 3,000? Spurs were given 3,305 seats for the game last week (source: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/ticket-news-leicester-away-290715/) - so there's 305 seats that could be given to our fans straight off the bat.

Also, we must waste a hundred or so (rough estimation, I have no figure) seats on segregation too can surely be put to better use. We seemingly unnecessarily cover a number of seats in the away end with those blue sheets (or whatever they are). Surely just stewards on the staircase, like at the Emirates, would suffice?

A reconfiguration of this would free up a good number of seats for home fans, and limit the away fans while we're at it. I can't understand why this hasn't been done yet? There's probably a reason for this, which I'm sure one of you with greater knowledge than me will be able to shine a light on. However, if there is nothing holding us back, then I really do not see why the club couldn't get this done.

The better the away fans usually the better the atmosphere, just expand the stadium.

Imagine 40,000 clap banners banging away to Uptown Funk (Bring it back...:revenge:) - what a cracking atmosphere

For me it's an absolute must. We've outgrown our currency capacity. We need to start playing with the big boys or we will forever be a lower end prem club with no ambition to get bigger.

I couldn't agree more. Most of the 'big' clubs give us the absolute minimum - 3,000 in grounds that hold 60,000 or more - but we give 300 plus more than this. As I have said elsewhere I would sooner see 300 plus of our fans backing us. I think there were only around 320 season ticket holders who didn't renew last season - their tickets went to a ballot. Well that figure could be doubled if we put our own supporters first.

Wait until next season and you will see how easy it is to get a ticket

For me we need to increase another 10,000 seats.

Many people are missing out on season tickets...myself included.

Its not that I/we won't go week in week out at home the difference is because I/we can't!

I would happily pay the £40 odd pounds a month DD for a season ticket.

I do begrudge in some cases £40/50 for one match.

The demand has been there for a few seasons now and doesn't look like decreasing any time soon, even a poor Premier League Campaign sells out at pretty much 95+ percent capacity.

I think the owners are just happy with how things are, and won't increase as it doesn't make business sense for them to maybe on a £££ perspective.

There surely needs to be some movement on this over the course of next season else there never will be a right time to extend, Then when will be a right time???

Even during the doom and gloom of the Great Escape season we were still selling out our tickets. And on Thursday and Sunday, when we had nothing left to play for, the stadium was sold out. So I think there will still be a high demand for tickets next season

That's not the point for me, better to have a ground that's big enough even though sometimes it won't be filled.

At least it caters for everyone then

According to the poll, by now 90.35% of voters think we should expand the stadium.

Shouldn't we be cracking on with this now?

So i have never claimed to be ITK but i am working for a customer at the moment who are well known in the insurance world close to Leicester.

The other day i was sat there and my laptop was connected to an external monitor with a photo of Wes holding the trophy up.

A random guy walked past and saw my monitor and was thrilled i was a city fan as so was he, a chat ensued and he told me that the east stand is to be extended with work due to commence in June 2017 and something to do with the club now owning that electricity building close by.

After he went off i asked my boss who this guy was and she said he is one of the board of directors within this company and that they have a box down at the ground that he controlled.

Might be BS but i thought i would share.

Wow ..   starts in a few weeks then ! ...    :)

I have a 6 year old desperate for a season ticket. Along with my sister and two of her young boys, she was a season ticket holder from 1994 to 2009 before having them.

I know plenty of families who want to get season tickets with their children but can't. I guess the danger of not expanding is that we are potentially locking out a generation of young fans. Unless of course we turn horseshit and there are thousands of empty seats again.

At least add 12-14 more seats if anything

Old boy near me looks very very doddery ...   maybe just 11-13 seats required.

Surely there would have been an announcement by now if there was any truth in that.

I was sarcastically quoting something from over 8 months ago ...     I think there has been quite a bit of back pedalling since then .

Not to mention the (not so) little issue of planning permission. It's all Chinese whispers.

Start again, a purpose built 50,000 stadium, hotel and the best conference facilities in the East Midlands. A fans village and training ground all in one.

If we got Big Sam and Shakey signed up that is what I would do as we have more chance of staying up and pocketing your £70m a year or whatever you get from Sky.
